The Philippine National Police (PNP) will be meeting with officials of television network ABS-CBN in connection with scenes shown in its popular program ‘Ang Probinsiyano’ involving policewomen that it considered “disturbing”.
Lt. Col. Kim Molitas, PNP deputy spokesperson, said that the production staff of the program may have overlooked some of the agreements that they agreed upon several months ago in connection with the portrayal of policemen.
“We will talk to the Production Staff of ABS CBN and look at possible violation of our existing Memorandum of Understanding,” said Molitas.
She was referring to recent scenes wherein policewomen were shown being harassed and sexually abused by a supposed group of hardened criminals.
The scenes were called out by some netizens who thought that the image of the PNP was put in bad light.
Molitas said that their discussion with the ABS-CBN was in reaction to the concerns raised by the netizens.
“Depending on the extent of the violation we may warn them or rescind the said MOU,” said Molitas.
Late last year, the PNP leadership cried foul over alleged portrayal of policemen in the same popular primetime series.
Police facilities, equipment, uniforms and other insignia are being used in the production of Ang Probinsiyano to make every series more realistic.
PNP and ABS-CBN officials came up with an MOU that eventually settled the difference on how cops are being portrayed in November last year.

Shameless Maneuvering

Actress Celebrity (AC) was in panic, as her Reliable Designer (RD) was not returning her urgent calls. With no response and an urgent need, AC rushed to the boutique of RD and started choosing and finally taking a dress. Of course, as AC and RD have a client-merchant relationship for such a time, the former’s action was plausible. However, when RD learned of what AC did, she wondered why AC circumvented her stylist. Usually, the stylist is the one who chooses clothes and pulls them off the rack. Nonetheless, RD brushed off the incident.
All seems to be well, a day when a celebrity simply needed to look fabulous and chooses to be in a designer’s work. The transaction was simple and normal until RD was horrified when the said dress was returned. The details or highlight pieces sewn on the dress were missing or damaged. The dress itself was tattered and almost ripped apart in some sections allegedly. While people take for granted designer clothing, the cost that goes in the process of creation can be very expensive. RD had no choice but to charge AC for the damaged done to her work.
Call after call, AC was not responding and when she learned that she was being charged took a while to pay up. Thus, follow up calls were made until RD was finally paid after a long time. Even though RD was compensated, she was still upset as to how such damage was done to her dress. Coincidentally, RD learned the truth from a source and the facts added more frustration.
AC took the dress to lend to the daughter of a friend. The said daughter wore the dress to a prom. As proms can be full of active kids, somewhere along the way, something could have caused the damage. Thus, RD was so disappointed to learn the truth that AC did not even wear her creation. So now, the question is if AC would still have the same privilege accorded to her by RD, which she indeed abused.
‘A lot of times, people feel that if they forgive the person who hurt them, then they will continue to take advantage of them or not take responsibility for what they did wrong.’ – Joyce Meyer
