Some are Smarter than Others

“ What are we in power for?”

This controversial statement is often quoted to point out the glaring realities and harsh facts in our lives that most people believe and subscribe to, rightly or wrongly. The infamous quote originally came from a supposed public servant is often subscribed to by…yes you guessed it right…politicians. What used to be taboo and frowned at has now become something to brag about. Time has truly changed.

Controversial Personality CP is a self-proclaimed Madam Clean in the industry. A hardworking person, CP is always busy as a bee attending to numerous commitments every single day. Tireless and fearless, she makes no bones exposing the abuses in every sector of society, particularly those in government.

Yet, those who know CP are privy to all her quirks and know full well that her public image is just that – image that leaves a lot to be desired. They remarked that CP’s pronouncements of honesty and CP are nothing but crap, that she, too, is capable of abuse after all. Oh ha!

Being a public figure, CP gets to attend several engagements in a day. When her events overlap, that’s when trouble begins, which was exactly what happened one day when she realized that she would be late for her next appointment in a province down south.

Reportedly, CP did not waste time in calling her Partner of Influence PI and asked for a chopper to pick her up and bring her to her destination. Pronto, in less than an hour, the chopper arrived, ready for CP’s  disposal.

Once again, the perks of the privileged – definitely life’s no sweat when one has easy access to government resources. Clever eh!

Letter from a Reader: Relative of Piolo Pascual's Basher Hits Back

Dear Fashion Pulis,

I'm a mother of two beautiful children and one of them is involved with PIOLO VS. BASHER scoop you have.

Every God-given day, young as they are, I never fail to mention to my children to be good and not to be bullies to other kids. It breaks my heart when I see people rant about "stop bullying" and then five seconds later, they're bullying someone else.

As a mother of the child in the photo, I am deeply hurt that my daughter's right was violated merely because the person ( a relative of mine ) who's with her in the photo called Mr. Piolo Pascual, gay. I know it's very insensitive of that person to make inappropriate comments like that... I get it... it's wrong. But what I can't tolerate is Mr. Pascual exposing my innocent child to the world to get back at the person who wronged him. Now my poor child's reputation is tainted.

Mr. Pascual is also a parent and he should understand what I'm going through right now. We do our best to protect our children's innocence, and for him to do what he did is really off the mark. Him exposing my minor child to the world, it's not just a copyright infringement but also invading my child's privacy. Please note: US- Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA)

see link for Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule ("COPPA")

From a parent to another parent, I demand an apology from Mr. Piolo Pascual.

Thank you Mr. Fashion Pulis, for accommodating my letter.

Note: Letter edited for brevity

Her Best Amulet

Determined Actress DA had always been fodder for gossip over her colorful relationships even as a young teenager many years ago. Young as she was, DA already knew everything about the birds and the bees, and the dire consequences should she try to draw the line – yet she did – with a good-looking man.

Several affairs and a broken marriage after, DA remains to be visible in the industry and despite her age, is making conscious effort to look really good and desirable. And the reason? DA wants her Young Conquest YC to be with her forever no matter how illicit their relationship had been for the longest time. It appears that she loves YC so much and will do everything at all cost to please him – including harnessing her bedtime skills and being a slave to him during their intimate moments together.

DA knows that it’s her only weapon to keep YC’s loyalty amidst numerous girls and gays who desire him. Fortunately for her, she knows YC’s weaknesses and what he really wants – something most young girls lack. Uh oh, there goes the age disparity working for them.

Much recently, in between romantic holiday celebrations, the couple sneaked in to have dinner and private time together. DA made sure it would be one very special and romantic day for the two of them. Since they couldn’t be seen together, DA decided to hold the occasion in her home. Fine. But what about the kids? She sent them away somewhere.

Not long after, YC came knocking at her door. Soon the house was silent – for hours.

Curiously, how long will DA and YC keep their affair a secret? Everyone knows that no matter how skillful you are in hiding, the nature of secrets is that they are eventually revealed. Here’s hoping that YC’s real girl won’t find out. Good luck.

Mom of BSM Boy Who Committed Suicide Sends Letter to Co-Parents

Dear BSM Parents,

The writer Cimamanda Adici warns against the danger of "the single story," of one story becoming "the only story."

My family and I are aware of the insinuations and veiled suggestions that are being made about my son Liam: that he was depressed, that he had mental illness, that he was troubled, that he had family problems.

None of these are true. I am writing you tell you about Liam.

Liam is the fourth of six children. He grew up in a simple, loving home surrounded by books, an environment where hard work, politeness, kindness, honesty are valued. From a young age, he developed a love for literature, writing, movies, music and video games.

Liam was very secure in himself, and felt no need to have to conform to peer pressure, to go out and party. He doted on his siblings. He reveled in simple joys, like the occasional haircut, Nutella, Reese's peanut butter cups, Cheezy chips. He never asked for much. He was never afraid to make fun of himself. He was an introvert like me, but talked with fiery passion about things he believed in and loved, like books and football, particularly Chelsea F.C.

Late last year and early this year, Liam excitedly shared with me and my husband his plan to take a gap year, so that he could concentrate on school work and aim for good grades. During his gap year, he planned to work on university applications, to apply for scholarships, for internships with his best friend.

In school, he had an easygoing way about him, he always had an easy smile. He had a shy and charming demeanor, and had many friends whom he loved to joke around and banter with. During the SLCs I attended, I saw how the teachers loved him and appreciated his hard work.

On the morning of Thursday, February 5th, before going to school, Liam was his usual self. He had asked me to get him some facial cleanser and hair wax with the last of his Christmas money.

It is a mother's gut feeling, that intutition unique to mothers, that told me that something gravely wrong happened while he was at school that Thursday.

And so this is where I am---I have lost a gentle, beautiful boy so full of promise. I have many questions that are still unanswered, pieces I would like to put together to bring some semblance of peace and closure. It does take a village to raise a child. We choose schools in the hopes that the adults they spend a greater part of their day with will continue with the same nurturing we do at home.

Liam's last encounter was with an adult, faculty, to whom I had entrusted his care. All I question is why that encounter had left him with feelings of hopelessness and humiliation. He brought home with him a disgraceful impression of himself that had such finality, that all he had built and hoped for were dashed to pieces.

I also write you today to thank you for being with us during Liam's wake and funeral mass. I thank the Year 13s for the heartfelt memorial that they led. My family and I have no words to express our gratitude for the overflow of affection and overwhelming support from BSM parents, teachers and students.

Liam is so loved.

I ask for your prayers that the light of truth will give all of us peace.

I end this letter with two articles of note.
