Just Delayed

Lately, the coworkers of Prized Star (PS) are bothered by her seeming lack of zest during work. Known as the best among her peers, expectations are high for PS to deliver in her scenes, and often senior stars like to work with her because she can deliver. These days, PS takes her time to perfect retakes and there are moments when she seems irritated. Speculations are aplenty that something is amiss, but PS has kept quiet.

One time, PS went out on a drinking session with her close friends. The alcohol helped her open up on what has bothering her that has already affected her work. Apparently, PS learned that Longtime Boyfriend (LB) was planning to propose to her. PS and LB are matched well, as they enjoy almost the same activities. Both are achievers and are accepted by their families. Thus, PS has been excited the moment she had a hint, but then time has been passing and she has been getting frustrated. She even said that she’s been waiting too long that she’s already calloused in her most private body part. Although she was humoring her friends, they felt PS was really in a dilemma. Waiting can be frustrating and she was getting impatient.

Unfortunately, that proposal will have to wait. LB has been told by His Manager (HM) of the reality that his stock as lead actor has been dropping. While some of his projects have been acclaimed, his talent is no longer translating to ratings, which has made the station rethink of shifting attention to newer actors. HM advised LB to delay his personal plans until his project is over, as being formally committed would affect his image and lessen his following among women.

The same story seems to be repeating and LB is finding himself in a similar situation where he has to choose between his career and his personal affairs. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking for PS, and her friends wonder as to how long she can wait for LB to finally pop the question. Of course, their fear is that PS might lose interest in someone who cannot promise her the forever that is missing in her life.

It was 3 years ago when she underwent breast reduction surgery. 

On Monday, Angeline Quinto opened up about the reason why. 

Speaking for the first time about her surgery, the Kapamilya singer told Push and other reporters that she used to have wardrobe troubles whenever she performed on "ASAP."

"Dumarating kasi ang point na sobrang fit na ang gown sa katawan ko and 'pag dating dito (chest area), mahirap," she explained, adding that she doesn't want a "perfect body" when teased about her sexier frame.

Quinto said she plans to get a nose job, but her religious beliefs and fears over it affecting her voice have stopped her so far. 

"Baka magalit din ang Diyos sa akin na, 'Hindi ka pa ba kuntento sa binigay ko sayo?' Sa totoo lang po 'yun ang sumasagi sa isip ko."

This is not the first time Quinto acknowledged to having surgery. 

She previously shared that she underwent various cosmetic procedures, such as double-eyelid surgery and liposuction, to supposedly boost her confidence. 

Quinto was speaking at a Cornerstone Entertainment event held at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City.

Imitating Personality

Whenever children of celebrities are asked whose footsteps they would like to follow, the usual answer is that they would choose the path set by their idols or even famous relations. Thus, when relatives of artists enter the industry, excitement is generated, as audiences are keen to see if the same blood runs in those children’s veins.

Comparison will always be inevitable. If a celebrity is known for dramatic acting, much is expected that the relation would attempt to enter the same genre. Often, the newbie relation suffers, as standards set by the famous relatives can be difficult to achieve. The pressure to reach the same status as the famous relation is real and can be disheartening if unmet. As a learning, related newbies are usually set a path on a different direction as that of their celebrity relatives.

For example, when Young Lad (YL) was introduced to the industry as related to Handsome Actor (HA), the comparisons were unstoppable. First, YL had to measure up to the looks of HA, which was obviously a no-contest. Nonetheless, YL looks good and is attractive in his own way. Second, YL has to prove himself in terms of what he could offer. In the talent arena, YL measured up and has potential to beat HA. Third, like HA, YL has witty responses and commendable posts in his social media accounts. Hence, fans gravitated to YL based on his merits and not just because he is connected to HA.

However, one incident made kibitzers smile, as they thought YL might be emulating HA too much. Allegedly, YL was caught with a videocall, which surprised many, as he is also known as a ladies’ man. Apparently, it was not a lady he was talking, too. Thus, the kibitzers linked this moment to rumors hounding HA, and that YL seemed to be in the footsteps of HA too closely.
