Tried and Tested Devotion

The recent overwhelming success of the much-followed Serye SY had The Network TN thought of mounting several profit-making ventures to milk it further for everything its worth. The thought of a surefire hit on their hands must have made TN executives smile from ear to ear for another fortune that was forthcoming.
Henceforth it was all systems go for the creative think-tank of TN that resulted in the much-publicized concert starring SY characters. It must be due to the over-eagerness and/or haste by those concerned but reportedly, the expected bonanza from a supposed jampacked crowd did not happen. In other words, it was a major disappointment for TN and producers.
TN challenged the SY producers and stars concerned that TN would sponsor a World Tour on one condition: if and only if the album of the New Tandem NT will be successful.
Thus everybody concerned focused on the task at hand, doing their part to meet the challenge by TN. To be fair the songs of NT enjoyed sufficient digital success, but that was not the mission. The aim was to make it a commercial success in terms of record sales. Hopes were high initially, but to their misfortune, the album did very poorly, failing to generate the needed returns.
But someone would not cave in just like that.
Desperately wanting the World Tour to push through, the Manager MG of NT came up with the idea, something that had been done before. MG made a last-ditch effort to buy tons of copies of the album himself - while at the same time heavily enjoining everyone - friends, colleagues, family – anything that moves to buy copies, too. TN was happily content - not knowing they have been had, but it was fine. Ultimately, the end did justify the means.
Again this proves how MG will stop at nothing to get what he wants - especially for the love of his boys.

Paulo Avelino Reacts to KC Concepcion's Twitter Post

This is what Avelino told entertainment website when asked for his reaction following Concepcion’s post on Twitter that she is not exclusively dating anyone.
“Like what I’ve said in the interview, we’re dating. Dating with me is having dinner, talking -- nothing more than that,” he said.
Avelino, who is not used to sharing details about his private life, said he is hoping his “Buzz ng Bayan” interview would be the last time he would talk about his personal life.
“Well, sana last na 'yun. Siguro 'yung mga sinabi ko lately contradicts what I’ve been saying. I really would want to keep a private life, a very quiet and peaceful life," he said.
Asked how he would feel if he gets the approval of Concepcion’s mom, veteran actress Sharon Cuneta, the “Honesto” actor said: “Of course, kung happy naman si KC, kahit naman siguro sinong nanay, kung nakikita sigurong masaya yung anak niya, siyempre magiging happy siya.”
However, he quickly added that he is not sure whether he’s the only person making Concepcion happy.
“Pero I’m sure there are a lot of things na nagpapasaya kay KC,” he said.

Keeping the Door Open

EA's wedded bliss is enviable to most showbiz couples where relationship break-ups has now become fashionable. It shows in her face how contented she is with her family who, as she is often quoted, are everything to her. Over all, she has a blissful family life with in-laws she has learned to love – except for one.
The Female Relative FR, someone close to her husband is allegedly one whom EA finds hard to connect to.
Heard from the grapevine that FR is one of the reasons why EA is often hesitant to attend family gatherings where FR would be present. The intimidating FR seems to overwhelm someone as shy and delicate as EA. Reportedly, EA would not feel welcome everytime FR would be there.
It is indeed quite stressful and uncomfortable to be coming face to face with FR whose facial expressions alone will make anyone grow butterflies in the stomach. Seems like FR has not overcome such image and threatening presence even amid family members. And she is allegedly not the kind who will bend to anyone just to make them feel at ease.
Reportedly, everytime her husband informs EA of an upcoming family event, EA would often ask if FR would be present at the said event. She would then beg off if she would be told that the dreaded FR would be attending. This has sort of become a major setback for her husband who has to do a balancing act between the two.
Both EA and FR are dear to him and it was often awkward for him to choose between the two when family events come along. But there is another family member, a Male Relative MR, who EA feels so completely at ease with. Apart from the fact that EA and MR once did a project together, MR who is the complete opposite of FR is a charming doll that EA is very comfortable with.
It must be difficult for EA's husband to keep both sides happy, a challenging act which requires an extra degree of diplomacy.
But most observers believe that it is too small a price to pay for him to have a trophy wife that is EA.

Miss World 2013 Megan Young in Haiti Orphanage Collapse

When they saw Miss World in her crown around 20 children rushed toward her. As they came forward the floor collapsed. Julia and one of the children, Jonathan, suffered fractures after falling through the floor, landing 8 to 10 feet below, being hit by the debris from above. Miraculously all the other children and Miss World Megan Young escaped either unhurt or with just cuts and bruises
It was therefore decided that Julia would be airlifted to Miami to undergo immediate surgery.
Julia was therefore flown overnight by Air Ambulance from Haiti to Miami. She is currently in Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, after surgeons completed a 5 1/2 hour operation to put her hip back together.
The surgeon has said that the operation went very well. It was a much more difficult operation than the first X-ray revealed in Haiti. The surgeon described it as a “high impact break with a lot of soft tissue damage”. This took a lot of additional time to repair. As part of the repair they have inserted a metal plate on Julia's hip (instead of a pin) to add more stability to the joint.
The surgeon says that she now needs rest and intensive therapy. With the length and scale of the operation, she will be here in Miami for a while before she can return to London. The good news is that with hard work over the coming week, the surgeon believes that she can make a full recovery.

"We went into the orphanage hoping for a good day. I was happy that day and the children we were with seemed so full of energy and joy. We get onto this second floor platform, and we aren't even there for a minute and we hear a crack and everybody falls through.
"Nothing like that has really happened to me before. It was such a shock. I felt like a deer in the headlights. I didn't really know what had happened or what to do. We had all fallen down, but I was still on my feet. I had the crown in one hand and the other hand instinctively holding up one of the decks in place with two people. There were lots of kids under the decks still and we just instinctively held on. it was such a scary situation for me. it makes you realise there is so much more that should be done for these kids. it's not the only orphanage out here in Port au Prince, and I am sure others are in a similar state."
"We just hope that Julia recovers from it as quickly as possibly and dear Jonathan. My thoughts are with them at this time. It was a real eye opener and just shows how much work needs to be done in Haiti. I want to go back and continue with the work that we have started, and make sure nothing like this can happen again."

“I heard a loud crack and then the floor started to slide. My first thought was for the children and Megan. As I fell through, I remember catching some of the younger kids and breaking their fall. I landed on my feet but with the extra weight of the kids I fell back. Then came the intense pain and I knew something was seriously wrong.
“I was so relieved that nearly everyone escaped unhurt. I stayed with poor Jonathan in the hospital. He was in the bed next to me and we cuddled each other while waiting for our X-Rays. I am glad to say that his leg has now been set and he will recover quickly.
“I will return to Haiti as soon as I am well enough. There is a lot of work still to do. I want to go back and see the kids and to check on Jonathan's progress. This terrible accident highlights the continued need to provide a safe environment for these young kids. Many of them were themselves orphaned as a result of buildings collapsing during the terrible earthquake of 2010.”
