  1. Hopefully this will be the beginning of the rest of the arab countries participating in a beauty pageant like Miss U.

  5. "Applications are open to all residents of the United Arab Emirates, rather than solely citizens."

So we should expect most applicants will be Pinay OFWs. Arabs look down on beauty pageants - it is just not part of their culture.

    1. I am pretty sure maraming arabs ang manonood, di lahat ng arabs conservative. Marami ng arabs dito sa UAE na british ang culture dahil marami sa kanila nakapangasawa ng mga puti. Well I am talking about the men. Because women cannot marry from other nationality or religion and the locals here dress conservatively.

  10. Does this mean hindi na Furne One gagawa ng gowns ni Beatrice? Infair naredeem niya sarili niya with the red and blue gowns after the disastrous yellow and orange gowns for Rabiya.

  16. Talaga, I didn’t think they allowed that vulgarity in Muslim countries.

  17. Naku. Baka makulong kayo diyan. It’s against their culture/religion.

  18. May direct flight na ang Dubai-Tel Aviv at may formal diplomatic relations na rin ang UAE at Israel so makakapadala sila ng kandidata. For sure, karamihan sa sasali ay mga fashion models based in Dubai.

  19. Ano pa ba ang relevance ng mga pageants?

  20. Sana si Maggie na lang pinalit kay Shamcey. Mas may taste naman si girl kesa dun na ginawang cheap ang Miss U.

  21. The locals will not be joining the pageant dahil haram or forbidden sa kanila yang showing of skin and hair. Kaya the UAE MIss U will allow women of different nationalities to join for as long as they are residents dito. I bet maraming russians ang sasali dahil maraming russians na magaganda dito but personal opinion ko eh Pilipina ang papanalunin dahil sa audience impact at 3 sa members ng council eh Pilipino. Will definitely watch this here sa UAE.
