Sometime ago, Budding Performer (BP) was seated with Showbiz Mover (SM) in a restaurant. At that time, BP was still starting out, whereas SM was already respected and influential. SM’s reputation as a guide to young talents was already known. Thus, their conversation was assumed to focus to plans for BP.

However, their conversation went beyond the professional expectations of a showbiz newbie. BP was promising and the years proved he was not merely a one hit wonder. Anyway, customers overheard BP opening up on finding out his true identity.

In the local entertainment industry, declaring one’s sexuality at the start of one’s career is considered the beginning of the end especially at that time when LGBTQ issues were downplayed. The heterosexual image had to be upheld as one way to gain popularity is to feed the attraction of the opposite sex. BP happened to be quite attractive and even then would garner women fans.

Fast forward to the present: BP has already established his career and talent in his field. He’s not just a pretty face, but someone who can deliver entertainment across genders. Still, questions on his identity still hover in the air, an issue that seems to have never died down despite the decades that have passed.
