How Reality Goes

Image change is often risky, as celebrities will never be assured that they will get a positive response from fans and endorsements. Such risk is often outweighed if the change is for the better, such as for health and for a good cause. In the case of Changed Person (CP), his transformation was met with encouragement from the public and his endorsements.
Things sounded positive, but the change also meant facing reality, that is, CP has not had as much work as several years ago. Thus, finances are dipping and lifestyle changes had to be done. Of course, transformation does not come cheap, as maintaining an image requires much expense. CP is a proud person and made sure that no borrowing would transpire. It would be more difficult if CP would be the subject of gossip concerning money problems.
Thus, CP strategized his image by pricing himself a bit too high. For instance, when invitations to do magazine covers came, CP placed a tag price on his appearances. Usually, gracing the cover of a magazine is a privilege, as the featured celebrity gets extra mileage, and therefore, no money is paid. In CP’s case, he agreed on the concept but mentioned he had conditions. The producers agreed and they were caught with the unexpected. CP said that he would continue the project if he gets paid. Then, he quoted a high price, considering that most printed publications are shutting down and going online. As the cover issue was nearing its deadline, the producers negotiated and they met half-way.
Karma can have quick revenge. When CP was expecting to be part of a high profile and lucrative project, he prepared much for the day. He persevered to meet the standards of the project, which he had received initial compensation. When the final lineup came out, he was excluded. The reason was the same. He had priced himself quite high that he was dropped and the younger and more attractive male celebrities were chosen.
With no work in sight in the local scene and with a new image that is envied by many, CP had to make do with the situation. Allegedly, CP has made himself available for various services. Such activities are done and booked discretely, of course. No happenings are done in the islands and every transaction is allegedly done overseas. CP has to maintain his lifestyle and for now, his bookings have to do.

Joining the Club

Nearing the peak of his career, Reliable Actor (RA) thought nothing would stop his making it to the top. After all, networks were much interested in him even if he already had a home then. Intrigues involving him and actresses were making headlines and his acting was slowly being noticed. However, just as when things were looking up, reality sets in, that is, RA saw that he would just play second or even third in his home, as he did have a strong backer and he was not really homegrown. RA then opted out and pinned his hopes on finding a new station and people to work with.
Jumping from one to another, RA finally settled down in New Network (NN), but the competition was tougher and NN could only offer roles that were second to the lead. Gone were the dreams of becoming a matinee idol, as such goal was impossible to attain in NN. Thus, RA mellowed down and focused on his work. He improved his acting and received offers to act in various movies. With NN, he was able to explore various roles, such as the perennial best friend, villain, etc. He did not shy away from portraying gay roles or from showing off his physique as well.
As his career progressed, many actresses were linked to him, but nothing materialized. His last major relationship with a celebrity was highly publicized and obviously, privacy was no longer sacred. From their breakup moment, nothing has been heard about the lovelife of RA. Although he is not a matinee idol nor does he belong to the lead, he has kept his private life quiet.
Rumors have it that he has a Non-showbiz girlfriend (NG). As he is not really a prime lead actor, NG was not hounded by the press. RA is not even seen with NG in gatherings and only closest friends and family know the seriousness of the relationship. To make matters more interesting, NG has allegedly given birth to their lovechild. So far, RA has not made any announcement nor any hint that he is already a father. Those who know of the birth are wondering why he has not revealed anything. He is not of matinee idol status, anyway, and thus, has nothing to lose. Besides, a number of celebrities have admitted to fathering kids while balancing their careers and RA could just join the club.
