Just Be Gracious

Competition in the workplace can spice up the mood and challenge employees to rise above expectations. Rivalries are heightened to show the better one in his/her job. Handled properly, such competitions among employees can work positively for the growth of a company. Departments of networks are not exempted from employees or talents trying to outdo each other. Of course, viewers are spared from seeing the battlefield, as only the best products are presented on screen.

In front of the camera, Media Personality 1 (M1) and Media Personality 2 (M2) show a harmonious relationship with each other. Having similar areas of expertise, M1 and M2 often times would cross paths in events outside the station. While M1 has to deliver a story almost daily, M2 does not have such responsibility for the network. In terms of experience, M2 has the edge, as he started from the bottom and made his way up the ranks in his field. Through hard work, he established his reputation. His opinions are valued and when he talks, people listen. However, sometimes, his rants can go over the top and his life in media is sometimes made exciting by intrigues.

Similarly, M1 started young and because of her background, she managed to have an advantage over other media personalities. Although she does not have any bragging rights as far as connections are concerned, M1 can sometimes come off as placing herself in a superior position. This attitude probably stems from where she got her education and whenever she gets the chance, she would emphasize her college, as though saying that she is better than the rest because of her training. Short of bragging, M1 can make people feel that she is a notch about everyone in the beat.

During the rare times when M1 ends up working with M2, the latter can feel how the former bucks his sentences and make her opinion sound better than his ideas. Worse, M1 could make M2 sound inferior even if he happened to be more senior than she is. While on the job, M2 cannot retaliate with a play on words against M1, as they have to project a harmonious relationship, as viewers are watching and sensitive to any animosity that might reverberate. Behind the scenes, M2 cannot stand the nerves of M1, but since he is the older one, he simply tries to understand where she is coming from. Besides, both of them only have the interest of the network in mind.

Repost: Palace Spokesperson Does Not See Anything Wrong in Using Malacanang for Photoshoot of President's Granddaughter

A photoshoot isn't prohibited in Malacanang Palace, the presidential spokesman said, amid criticisms on Isabelle Duterte's pre-debut pictorial.

"I don't think it should be an issue. Gaya sila ng mga ordinaryong mga mamamayan na pwedeng magpicture sa Malacañang," said presidential spokesman Harry Roque.

Roque confirmed that Isabelle, the eldest daughter of Paolo Duterte, had her photos taken around the Palace grounds.

Roque added that even President Rodrigo Duterte was entitled to live in Malacañang but he opted not to stay at the lavish residence.

"Siguro naman yung mga kamag-anak niya lalo na ang kanyang apo ay pwede namang magpapicture picture sa Malacañang," he told reporters.

Roque said, however, that he does not know if the request for the shoot was requested by the Vice Mayor, but he emphasized that "they already opted not to live in the Palace."

"Kung ginusto nila pwede silang tumira doon, hindi na nila ginawa iyon, wag na nating ipagkait ang photo opportunity sa loob ng Palasyo," he said.

Earlier Friday, photos from Isabelle's photoshoot made rounds in social media.

In photos posted on Instagram, Isabelle was seen wearing different outfits, including a red ball gown by Dubai-based couturier Garimon Roferos.

Her Own Child or Not

Media Personality (MP) has been staying out of the limelight lately, unlike her high profile co-workers and friends, who seem to be in the news every so often. However, her followers are not left in the dark, as MP always has new photos of herself in her social media accounts. The photos depict what she is known for, and what would motivate others to ask how to be like her.

Although MP might not really be often seen in front of the camera, she is quite known in her field and people would recognize her in public or at the very least, react with statements, such as “she looks familiar.” Thus, even if people will not approach her for a selfie, there would still be others who would recognize her.

So, when MP was spotted in an airport, observers were surprised that she was carrying a child literally. Then, she proceeded to the immigration counter and moved toward the arrival area. After a while, MP handed the baby to her companion. The question in the mind of the ordinary observer was the obvious, that is, if MP were the mother of the said baby.

Given that MP is a celebrity in her specialization, curiosity would be a natural reaction on seeing her with a baby. After all, MP has yet to declare that she has gotten married or even if she is in a relationship. Rumors have it that she is seeing someone, but that person already has a commitment. Still, she opted to be with him according to the grapevine, but everything has to be done in secrecy. The family of the said man is definitely not supportive, as MP is seen as the block that would prevent the father and the mother from patching up disagreements. Besides, a family scandal is not something that the family would want, as society pages would definitely have a blast if such rumors were confirmed true.
