Repost: Zanjoe Marudo Reacts on Possible Relationship of Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson

Zanjoe Marudo has finally reacted to the rekindled friendship between his former girlfriend, Bea Alonzo, and the actress’ ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson.
During the press conference of “Tubig at Langis” on Saturday, Marudo said it is good that Alonzo and Anderson have become friends again since they were estranged for six years following their separation in 2010.
Marudo also hinted that he has nothing against Alonzo and Anderson if ever they get back together.
"Mabuti 'yun para sa kanila. Kung meron man silang nararamdaman ngayon, maganda 'yun para sa kanila, ‘di ba? Parang kapag pag-uusapan mo 'yung nakaraan nila, ‘di ba parang medyo mahirap 'yung pinagdaanan nila? Mabuti 'yun at least open sila. Makakagalaw sila. Lahat ng pwede nilang gawin, pwede nilang gawin,” he said as quoted by entertainment site Push.
When asked if he still has feelings for Alonzo, Marudo said: “Ngayon wala na. Masasabi ko na talaga parang okay na ako. Okay naman ako.”
Marudo, however, clarified that he and Alonzo do not have any ill feelings toward each other.
“Okay naman kami. Kapag nagkikita kami sa mga event, nagpapansinan kami. Friends, parang ganon, parang normal na single,” he explained.
Following their breakup more than eight months ago, Marudo said he is now happy.
“Yung estado ng puso ko, masasabi kong masaya, masayang-masaya. At ako ngayon ayaw kong i-pressure 'yung sarili ko sa kahit anong bagay kasi sa ngayon committed ako sa sarili ko, sa trabaho ko, sa family,” he said.
Aside from “Tubig at Langis,” Marudo is also gearing up for his upcoming movie with Sam Milby and Angel Locsin

Must Orchestrate a Change in Her Image

As a teen, one hit came after another even though these were short exposures. Step by step, PT was carving her name. Then, a major break was given to her, and starring in a soap was the dream of the tens of talents in her network. With high expectations, PT was pressured to deliver. After all, the said project was the vehicle to launch her and other talents. Unfortunately, the project failed to deliver, but instead of putting PT in the freezer, the network gave her another project. Similar to the earlier one, PT was criticized for her lack of mass appeal.
However, the network was not giving up on PT and she showed how much she loved the business. Yet, behind the scenes, negative stories of her alleged haughtiness and indifference continued. While PT tried to address all these issue, her responses were still criticized. Soon, followers and bashers watched her every move closely. Bashers questioned every statement and truly picked on her. As more bashing came, PT had learned to respond without losing her composure. However, the bashers seemed to increase in number, and PT was caught between their flooding her social media accounts or her shutting down of her social media accounts. The latter was out of the question because every celebrity knows that social media accounts are ways to keep their presence in the consciousness of netizens.
After more projects and more candid statements, even her positive accomplishments invited bashing. The negative image alarmed her endorsements. Future endorsements allegedly wanted to back out, while her present major endorsement was already in panic. Luckily, the management of PT has an ace and a Powerful Insider (PI) made a call to an Influential Figure (IF). A statement coming from IF could improve the image of PT. Known as a staunch advocate, IF has convincing power, which PI hoped could deflate the negative image hounding PT. Thus, out of the blue, IF suddenly reacted to one of the issues hurled at PT. Soon, other major celebrities expressed support for PT. As expected, PI got what he wanted and IF was able to raise awareness to a significant issue. However, the measurement of success is indicated by the attitude of bashers towards PT.

Movie Review: That Thing Called Tanga Na

Gays in the Philippines are said to comprise about 10% of the country’s population. Far from their status of decades ago when they used to be frowned at, gays or ‘bekis’ of today enjoy far greater freedom and acceptance in the community. Most of them are creative, financially independent and lead colorful lives - yet in reality, they are often wanting of real love.
“That Thing Called Tanga Na” is a movie about love and friendship among gays. Four gay men and a woman comprise this group of friends who are engaged in various professions. The movie revolves around their heartbreaks on finding true love.
A regular viewer may have a fairly good expectation of this movie owing to the fact that director Joel Lamangan was at the helm. Unfortunately, to be in for a major letdown is totally unexpected.
First of all, one will get lost with such a big number of characters, with everyone actively involved in each others’ lives – including its every twist and turn. It would have been ideal had the characters been allowed to develop for better appreciation.
Among others, the flow of the story is flawed. With such a cast, each scene becomes a confusion of the many issues of each character. Names and situations are lumped up in each fast-paced dialogue making it hard for the viewer to catch up what was actually happening, thus missing the point in the process. There are just so many things going on – literally.
Another thing, it is a struggle to appreciate a movie whose screenplay leaves much to be desired – ie, old, overused gay jokes that had seen better days, in short corny and ridiculous. In street language, ‘bumenta na’. And I bet you, there are a lot of those. Top that with loud and OA acting, and you get the picture.
Ron or papa Tiu (Eric Quizon) plays a rich gay businessman, separated from wife, and is lover to a two-timing Albie. Fashion designer Sissy (Kean Cipriano) suffers a similar fate, along with his girl Friday, Shirley (Angeline Quinto) who has a ‘gifted’ cheating partner, too. It’s only closeted gay Baldo (Billy Crawford), who marries his one true love in an unlikely scenario and salon owner Georgette (Martin Escudero) who seem to be the only characters whose love issues are not as absurd.
Furthermore, the film could have been treated with a fresher take on some gay issues that the public are not familiar with. Unfortunately, it is bombarded with scenes and dialogues that are glaringly old. It doesn’t project gays in a favorable manner the way the movie presented them. Those gay-loving young men who will do anything in exchange for a big bonanza from their rich benefactors, isn’t that as old as the hills?
Perhaps, the only saving grace of the movie are the happy testimonies of celebrity gay couples who have struggled to be accepted for their love and won it in the end.
Others in the movie are Albie Casino, Ken Alfonso, Lawrence Yap, Luke Conde, Nikki Valdez, Gerard Napoles, Paolo Gumabao, Shine Kuk and Vangie Labalan. Now showing in cinemas.

Just Accept Every Opportunity That is Offered
Years later, YP is reaping the patience and the fruits of his timely appearance in the entertainment industry. He was a refreshing addition to the network and he was a natural charmer. As the cliché goes, strike while the iron is hot. Thus, YP was appearing in one project after another. On top of his acting gigs, he also has concerts both in the local scene and abroad. His endorsements indicate the proof that companies believe he could best represent their product and perhaps, become a role model for the youth. Given his strenuous workload, it seems that YP hardly sleeps as he honors his commitments.
Nonetheless, one works hard for a reason. In the case of YP, he has been on call since that moment when he hit it big. Hardly has he been on vacation away from the limelight. While his contemporaries have been vocal about their investments, YP’s camp has remained mum on where he invests his money. This question might be irrelevant to some, but quite bothersome for others, as they want to see YP truly enjoying his earnings.
Rumors have it that YP has been striving hard because of family matters. Allegedly, YP could not say anything except to produce the cash when his family presents to him the bills that have to be paid. As a dutiful son, YP obliges, and thus, he has to keep working to make sure his family will not end up in debt. While he could leave his family, such an idea is far from YP’s mind. His family’s needs come first and he will make sure he maximizes every opportunity to help his family members. However, YP, as breadwinner, seems not enough. According to the grapevine, other family members intend to join showbiz as well. Perhaps, if they make it big, the financial burden on YP could be relaxed a bit.
