Clear Skin, Real Confidence: Andrea Brillantes x Belo AdvaClear

It Was Never Just About Acne

For a young person, persistent breakouts affect much more than the skin.

Ask any teenager who has woken up with a new breakout on the morning of an important day, and they will likely tell you the same thing: acne is never just about the skin. It is the extra time spent in front of the mirror trying to cover a pimple. It is turning away from the camera, deleting a photo before anyone else can see it, or suddenly deciding not to attend something they had been looking forward to for weeks.

For parents, these sudden changes can be heartbreaking and difficult to understand at first. A child who once loved having their photo taken may suddenly avoid it. Someone who used to be bright and outgoing may begin keeping to themselves. The breakouts may be visible on the surface, but the devastating effect they have on a young person’s inner confidence often remains completely hidden.

When Breakouts Begin Affecting Confidence

Acne appears as persistent pimples, clogged pores, excess oil, redness, or dark marks that remain long after a breakout has healed. Crucially, acne is not a sign that a teenager is unhygienic, careless, or simply not trying hard enough. It is a complex skin concern driven by excess oil production, bacteria, inflammation, hormones, and genetics.

Because these biological causes and severity differ wildly from person to person, the exact routine that worked for a friend, sibling, or online content creator may not be the right match for your child. That is why professional assessment is what truly matters.

"Acne does not have a one-size-fits-all solution. Before recommending any treatment, we first assess the type and severity of the patient’s acne and identify the factors contributing to breakouts. This allows us to develop a treatment plan based on what the patient’s skin actually needs."

— Dr. Jacqueline M. Luna, Deputy Medical Director, Belo Medical Group

Andrea Brillantes Knows the Feeling

Andrea Brillantes may be one of the country’s most recognizable young stars, but growing up in front of the camera also made her deeply conscious of her skin. Behind the polished photographs and television appearances was a young woman who understood exactly what it felt like to want to hide.

"There was a time I was so acne-prone that I'd show up to set in full foundation, too embarrassed to let anyone see my skin. And when you grow up in front of the camera, that self-consciousness follows you everywhere. But my Belo family helped me through it. My skin started to clear once I began AdvaClear, and my confidence came back," shares Andrea, reminding young people that they never have to go through their acne journey alone.

(NOTE: Translated from Taglish)

Start with Understanding: Meet Belo AdvaClear

When a child is struggling, a parent's first instinct is often to purchase another cleanser or spot treatment product. However, worsening acne requires a professional medical assessment. At Belo, the journey begins with an in-depth skin analysis by a Belo doctor to design a personalized treatment plan matching the patient's age, lifestyle, and comfort level.

For suitable candidates, Belo doctors may recommend Belo AdvaClear, an advanced laser treatment that uses two complementary wavelengths to target active acne without requiring numbing cream and with minimal downtime. It works by:

● Targeting and neutralizing acne-causing bacteria directly

● Calming overactive oil glands to minimize excess sebum production

● Reducing active redness, acute inflammation, and swelling

● Improving the appearance of stubborn post-acne dark marks and uneven skin texture

Depending on the doctor's assessment, advanced skin-recovery solutions like ASCEplus Exosomes may be added to further accelerate tissue healing, texture correction, and cellular repair.

For Parents: Support Begins with Listening

Real skin journeys from personalities like Andrea Brillantes, Celeste Cortesi, Caitlyn Stave, Raheel Bhyria and content creators like David Guison, and Bethany Talbot, carry a powerful message: seeking professional help makes the path less overwhelming. When your child is struggling, the most helpful first step is simply acknowledging how they feel. Let them know that acne is not their fault, and avoid dismissing it as a simple 'phase' they must endure. Beyond improving their appearance, the right clinical support ensures a young person feels heard, cared for, and deeply confident during a formative stage of life.

Clearer skin starts with the right understanding. Book a professional skin analysis and consultation with a Belo doctor today to discover a treatment plan suited to your child's unique skin needs.

All-Star Ensemble, Acclaimed Filmmakers Power MQuest Ventures’ 'Manila’s Finest'

MQuest Ventures brings yet another notable cinema masterpiece to the Metro Manila Film Festival with the much-anticipated action-drama Manila’s Finest. Headlined by Piolo Pascual and an ensemble cast of the finest Philippine actors today, the film promises a bold fusion of powerhouse performances, stunning cinematography, and a story that immerses viewers in the gritty yet vibrant streets of Manila.

Manila’s Finest marks Piolo Pascual’s third consecutive MMFF lead role, a milestone that reflects his passion for meaningful Filipino stories. “To be part of the MMFF for three years in a row is truly special,” he shared. “To also work with a cast and team of this caliber is an honor. The chemistry on set was incredible, everyone was driven by the same passion to create something that feels big, bold, and deeply Filipino.”

For Enrique Gil, Manila’s Finest marks his first film under his multi-picture deal with MQuest Ventures. “Being part of Manila’s Finest as my first film project under MQuest Ventures is really special. The whole experience — from the costumes to the set design — felt like stepping into another time. Everyone on set was so passionate about bringing that era to life, and it made me appreciate how meaningful this project is,” he shared. He added that working alongside Piolo Pascual was what he considers an early Christmas gift. “Billy looks up to Capt. Homer like an older brother, and I think that mirrors how I see Piolo in real life. I’ve always dreamed of working with him,” Enrique said.

Set in the late 1960s, Manila’s Finest follows Capt. Homer Magtibay (Piolo Pascual), a principled officer of the Manila Police Department, as he investigates a string of brutal murders in the city’s rapidly expanding slums. With his trusted partner, 1st Lt. Billy Ojeda (Enrique Gil), and their station chief, Major Conrado Belarmino (Ariel Rivera), Magtibay traces the killings to a violent turf war between two rival gangs entangled in illegal gambling, theft, and prostitution. But as he digs deeper, he uncovers a darker truth: powerful businessmen, corrupt politicians, and even the police are all playing a part in the unstoppable decay of the city.

Joining Piolo, Enrique, and Ariel are some of the industry’s esteemed actors: Romnick Sarmenta, Joey Marquez, Soliman Cruz, Cedrick Juan, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Rico Blanco, Kiko Estrada, and Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio in her much-awaited acting big-screen return. The film also   stars new gen actors Ashtine Olviga (as Magtibay’s daughter), Ethan David, Dylan Menor, Paulo Angeles, Inday Fatima, and Pearl Gonzales.

Under the direction of Raymond Red, the first Filipino filmmaker to win Palme d'Or for Best Short Film at the Cannes Film Festival, Manila’s Finest unites an extraordinary creative team whose artistry is redefining the modern Filipino epic. The screenplay is written by notable Filipino screenwriters Michiko Yamamoto,  Moira Lang, and Sherad Anthony Sanchez.  “What makes Manila’s Finest special is the collaboration. You have some of the best actors and storytellers of this generation coming together — everyone brought something distinct to the table,” Red said. “The challenge was to channel all that energy into one cohesive vision, and that’s what makes the film feel so alive.”

Produced by MQuest Ventures and Cignal TV, Manila’s Finest follows the legacy established by award-winning MMFF entries Gomburza and The Kingdom. The movie evokes heartfelt storytelling to create a period film that is both thrilling and immersive. With the collective brilliance of its cast and filmmakers, Manila’s Finest stands out as one of this year’s most anticipated and talked-about festival entries.

Catch the thrilling story of Manila’s Finest — in cinemas nationwide starting December 25, 2025, at the Metro Manila Film Festival.

New Poster Reveals Defiant and Dangerous Hilda Koronel as SISA

The IDEAfirst Company just released the eye-catching official poster of SISA, Hilda Koronel’s comeback film directed by Jun Robles Lana. Designed by celebrated Filipino poster artist Justin Besana, the poster literally shows two faces of the character, echoing the earlier statements of Direk Jun that in this historical thriller, we will see a very different SISA. The caption on the poster is also equally intriguing: "Kabaliwan ba ang lumaban para sa bayang ito?” (“Is it madness to fight for this country?”) Indeed from her iconic INSIANG in 1976, after nearly 50 years Hilda’s comeback promises another unorthodox and unforgettable character in SISA when it is shown in cinemas soon. #SISAmovie #SinoSiSISA #HildaKoronel

Geneva Cruz's ‘GEN EVOLUTION’ Concert All Set for Sept 13 at Music Museum

Gen Xers, Gen Zs, millennials and OPM fans will be on full party mode this coming Saturday, September 13, 8:00pm at the Music Museum, as Geneva Cruz finally pushes through with her ‘GEN EVOLUTION’ concert.

Put on your dancing shoes and flaunt your best moves amid a groove-inducing remix of chart-topping ‘90s hits. Get ready to sing and scream your hearts out while reprising some of your memorable OPM love songs and anthemic hits.

The much-awaited concert party celebrates her 35th anniversary in showbiz, which started when she burst into the limelight with Smokey Mountain, and eventually evolved into an electrifying concert livewire whose dynamic stage presence – not to mention her sensuous allure – gives a nod to iconic pop superstars such as Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, and Miley Cyrus.

Geneva is sure to bridge the generational divide as her timeless originals and electrifying renditions of ‘80s and ‘90s pop hits reunite OPM fans for a night of nostalgia – with a little help from her equally talented celebrity guests.

“It’s finally pushing through!” Geneva exclaims. “I feel it’s high time to reacquaint the younger generation with my music and my brand of high-octane concert performance.”

Even beyond her string of hits including ‘I Like You,’ ‘Kailan,’ ‘Paraiso,’ ‘Anak ng Pasig, ‘Can This Be Love,’ and many more, Geneva has managed to level up her ‘A’ game by being a poster girl for women empowerment and social relevance.

As a fitness buff, she continues to defy age with her drop-dead-gorgeous looks and voluptuous curves – a product of rigorous workouts and a positive mindset.

As a staunch patriot, she is currently a proud reservist who earned her rank of sergeant in the Philippine Air Force’s Reserve Command last March 2022, and continues to support the organization’s medical missions, tree-planting and clean-up sorties, and other grassroots outreach projects.

Through her social media platforms, Geneva continues to inspire others with her ‘never say never’ approach to life – bravely taking on challenges and other lifelong stumbling blocks such as taking up swimming lessons or even participating in her first-ever triathlon (the 2024 Clark Triathlon Classic).

Geneva’s longtime manager, Arnold Vegafria, lauds her for always managing to reinvent herself and stay relevant, especially in an industry where new stars pop up overnight.

He says, “Even as a young girl, she was always fierce. She was a fighter. She knew what she wanted, and she would fight for something that she truly believed in. And it’s amazing how even up to now, such a mindset has led her to accomplishing so many things – not just in music, but in finding her true calling and being a light that shines bright for others.”

Directed by Jeffrey Hidalgo, ‘GEN EVOLUTION’ is a production of ALV Events International and ALV Talent Circuit, with Nikko Rivera as musical director.

Tickets are available at TicketWorld and Music Museum.

Teejay Marquez Inks Co-Management Contract with Sparkle

Teejay Marquez signed a co-management contract with Sparkle GMA Artist Center on Tuesday, August 12.

Under the agreement, Sparkle shares co-management responsibilities with Teejay’s management arm, ALV Talent Circuit, headed by Arnold Vegafria.

At the contract signing, Teejay thanked his Sparkle bosses for their trust and confidence.

He said, “I’m very thankful to GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group and GMA Films President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Sparkle FVP for Talent Development and Management Ms. Joy Marcelo, and my Sparkle Senior Handler, Ms. Jan Navarro. Of course, I’m also super grateful to my manager, Sir Arnold Vegafria, for opening new doors for me.”

The hunky actor, best remembered for sparking the BL trend some years back, expressed his joy and excitement for his new career high.

He gushed, “Of course, I’m very excited about their plans for me, and I’m looking forward to working with them again, since my last project with them was last year.”

No stranger to the Kapuso family, Teejay has done his share of projects with GMA-7, and last year, he appeared in Makiling (2024), where he played Oliver, one of the Crazy Five and one of the bullies in the show.

Given the chance, he would love to star in an action or fantasy series.

He shares, “I’m really looking forward to doing a fantaserye or action-fantaserye with GMA. We all know GMA is really good at producing fantaseryes, and personally, I love wearing costumes.”

“If I were given the chance to conceptualize and star in my own series, it’s going to be a fantaserye, or maybe I’ll be a robot who falls in love with my onscreen partner. Haha! Or perhaps a mystery series where I play the role of a serial killer.”

But he’s just as willing to explore drama roles, and maybe even figure in a loveteam tandem.

Asked who among Sparkle’s talents he’d love to work with, he quickly replies, “Ms. Marian Rivera, and some of my batchmates from Tween Hearts.”

For his part, Vegafria remarked, “With the guidance of his Sparkle mentors, and the able stewardship of his ALV Talent Circuit handlers, I expect his career to level up to stratospheric heights as he tackles more challenging roles, breaks out of stereotyped roles and takes his rightful place as one of the Kapuso network’s best and brightest top-tier actors and brand endorsers.”

As part of its Eleksyon 2025 coverage, GMA Integrated News Online launched eleksyon2025.ph, the network’s dedicated digital platform for comprehensive and real-time coverage of the 2025 Philippine elections. A collaboration between GMA News Online and the Network's other departments, the microsite is designed for desktop and mobile users and offers up-to-the-minute news and updates throughout the campaign and election period.

Among its key features is MyKodigo, a customizable tool that allows voters to create, save, and print a personalized list of candidates ahead of election day. The platform also includes detailed Candidate Profiles, a Voter’s Education hub, and a Voter’s Profile section featuring demographic insights based on official COMELEC data. A collaborative effort between GMA News Online, and other GMA departments, the platform leverages COMELEC servers to ensure accuracy and reliability. Eleksyon2025.ph is also accessible through the GMA News Online mobile app, available on the Apple App and Google Play Stores.

With technology support from GMA New Media, Inc. (GMA NMI), the Network’s forerunner in technology, real-time election results will be published in partnership with the COMELEC, as soon as data is available on the COMELEC media server. GMA's election livestream is also accessible via GMA News Online.

Digital Initiatives

GMA Integrated News’ Social Media Team further strengthens its public service through innovative digital initiatives, starting with the launch of #Eleksyonaryo: The Dapat Totoo Digital Exclusives, which now has over 11 million views. Divided into three engaging segments, it features mini-PSAs and Q&As using Gen Z terms to explain electoral concepts, man-on-the-street interviews capturing voters' voices, and an Ask-Me-Anything session with COMELEC Chairman George Garcia.

Alongside this, GMA Integrated News reintroduced YouScoop+, its user-generated content platform, allowing viewers to share their stories through photos and videos. The network also hosted the YouScoop+ Bootcamp, where over 100 students from partner schools learned how to monitor social media content, identify trends, verify facts, and assist in running the Digital Action Center (DAC) on Election Day. The DAC, launching for the first time this year, will serve as a hub for voters to submit questions and contribute content, with regional counterparts in Dagupan City, Cebu City, Bacolod City, Iloilo City, Davao City, General Santos City, and Cagayan de Oro City, ensuring nationwide engagement and timely, accurate election coverage.

With 115 television stations and 21 radio stations nationwide, reaching over 38 million viewers and more than 93 million followers and subscribers online, expect GMA Network to deliver the biggest, the most comprehensive, and the most accessible election coverage this #Eleksyon2025.

All their hard work finally paid off.

The grueling workouts, the extreme diets — coupled with grim determination and persistence — ultimately worked to the advantage of the celebrities of ALV Talent Circuit who wowed the humongous crowd that packed the SM Mall of Asia Arena last Friday night, March 21, 2025.

The star-studded roster, comprised of Sunshine Cruz, David Licauco, Teejay Marquez, Edgar Allan Guzman, Shaira Diaz, Ara Arida, Angelina Cruz, Icee Ejercito, Mr. World Philippines 2022 Kirk Bondad, Mark Rivera, Tim Tuppil, as well as former Miss World Philippines queens Tracy Maureen Perez, Dindi Pajares, Michelle Arceo and Gwen Fourniol, comprised the lineup of A-list celebrities, influencers, models and pageant queens and kings who rocked the MOA stage.

The ladies oozed with sensuous flair while the boys showed off their ripped bods and chiseled abs (with some even teasing the crowd with their provocative poses) as they walked the runway clad in Bench’s latest catalog of sportswear, activewear, and underwear.

Beyond the deafening roar of the audience’s thunderous screams and applause, the more fulfilling reward for these artists is being part of an enduring legacy that has become a ‘rite of passage’ for most showbiz celebrities.

For Sunshine, the event served as a fitting ‘passing of the torch,’ as she shared the stage with eldest daughter Angelina. In her Instagram post, she wrote, “It was truly a blessing to be onstage with my daughter. I am so proud of her.”

For former Miss World PH Tracy Maureen Perez, it was a dream come true and a fitting celebration of Filipino talent. In her pre-event Instagram post, she remarked “It truly is a dream come true — walking for a brand that not only pushes boundaries but continues to uplift Filipino talents and embrace each one of us as part of one big family.”

ALV Talent Circuit president Arnold Vegafria can’t help but feel proud of his growing roster of talents who have earned their anointment as BENCH’s esteemed list of brand ambassadors, and remains thankful to the brand for their support and commitment.

He says, “Every BENCH fashion show is always a testament to the brand’s creative marketing genius, and last Friday’s event is no exception. Congratulations to Ben Chan and his team for constantly putting Filipino fashion creativity on the global forefront!”
