When one eyes another, he/she will do things out of the extra-ordinary. While effort will be evident, the fancier will make it appear that such actions are normally done such that his/her intentions will not be obvious. The object of affection will not at all think that the friendly actions are leading to something else. He/she will accommodate the fancier until something fishy is sensed.
During a talent search, Proficient Performer (PP) noticed one of the finalists (TF) and started to befriend him. PP has name in the entertainment industry and given his experience, he can be perceived as a mentor. Being new, TF trusted PP, and he would often give in to the invitations of PP for private jamming sessions. PP would even hire a caterer to make their sessions impressive. Unknowingly, the actions of PP were already towards sort of courting the innocent TF. Nonetheless, PP used his influence to get TF to perform regularly in one of the network’s show. However, the show was already overflowing with talent, and thus, getting TF exposure became difficult. TF ended up being a regular guest of PP in his gigs.
After some time, nothing beyond friendship happened between PP and TF because there was someone in the picture. Homegrown Talent (HT) has lived up to the expectations that she and PP are an item despite rumors and skepticism surrounding their relationship. The presence of HT prevented the prospering of personal plans of PP for TF. Yet, HT was not enough for PP, as he pursued another budding performer (AB), who entered the industry similarly as TF, but came later.
PP applied the same moves in building his relationship with AB with private jamming sessions and good food. One day, PP might have been carried away and became a bit more touchy with AB. The situation became awkward for AB, but he did not react violently. From then on, AB started declining invitations from PP, citing that he has several engagements, and that they do get to see each other in the shows of the network. In short, AB wants to maintain a professional relationship with PP, and without having to say it bluntly to PP, AB is straight.
