In Denial of the Actual Reason

Producing a concert for any celebrity requires much risk, and producers must have the foresight that their chosen artists will be able to generate the sales needed to earn profit. This venture requires right timing, willing sponsors, and a hit combination of artists. Thus, when a performer is unable to perform in a concert, sponsors have all the right to back out, as the original plan will no longer push through.

When publicity materials of the concert of versatile celebrity (VC) were released, the lineup of guests included Phenomenal Talent (PT). VC and PT were in a hit series, which propelled PT to becoming a household name among viewers. After that hit series, PT’s succeeding projects proved bankable and he even obtained several endorsements. Meanwhile, VC’s career remained stable, but her lack of projects in the network lessened her exposure. Instead, intrigues seemed to proliferate in the publicity of VC’s activities.

Since VC and PT had chemistry, their combination was a guarantee that a concert would be well attended. Unfortunately, their partnership did not happen. As per standard operating practice, PT required a downpayment, which the producer was unable to give. Thus, PT had no choice but to back out, and the sponsors soon backed out upon learning that PT was no longer performing.

To worsen matters, tickets were not selling as expected. With low ticket sales and no reliable sponsors, the producer did not have enough funds to continue with the concert, and the venue was not yet paid even though the concert was just a few days away. Apparently, when PT backed out, the producer no longer wanted to continue, but VC persisted. After all, she was once heralded as a powerful concert performer, and her reputation requires having a concert.

The replacements of PT, Stubborn Hunk (SH) and Transferee Actor (TA), were unable to attract sponsors. Of course, they could not. Even if VC was once rumored to have fancied SH, his career is in the freezer due to his refusal to abide by the plans of the network for him. Meanwhile, TA never gained that many followers despite his moving from one station to another.

Finally, when VC realized that the producer could really not raise the required money, she turned to media and presented herself as the victim. This public revelation affected the reputation of the producer, who has been in the business for a time. Kibitzers questioned why he had the confidence to produce a concert even if he did not have the required capital. Yet, no one could raise the question that audiences might no longer be interested in watching VC perform.

Official truths are often powerful illusions. – John Pilger

Let's Be Sweet and Kind to the Owner

Beautiful Star BS must be really lucky. BS has been getting positive reviews lately, not only for her acting skills, but also for her sweet and wholesome charm both on and off camera.

In showbiz, more often than not, it’s the movie-going public and the fans who become the ultimate judge of celebrities’ real character. Oftentimes, they can access and be near their favorite stars and therefore have the vantage point of what the stars really are privately, away from the public.

BS and Young Actress YA went to a famous city known for its warmth and hospitality. BS and YA were warmly welcomed by the locals, most especially those who took part in the project. Incidentally, they were scheduled to have lunch with the owner of the restaurant as a way of thanking him for being one of the sponsors.

The source who happens to be a friend of the restaurant owner and a big fan of YA was so dismayed when she observed that YA was being cold to the owner. YA didn't even stay for lunch and requested that her food be delivered to her hotel room instead.

On the other hand, like a breath of fresh air, the well-grounded BS willingly posed for photos with the restaurant owner who earlier felt insulted by the coldness of YA. BS gamely chatted with them like they were friends. The people, obviously touched and overwhelmed by BS’ pleasant gesture expressed big admiration and became her instant fans.

What about YA? Silence. Blank stares. Need we say more?
