Just Don’t Mind Her

During an out-of-town event, the organizers decided to invite several celebrities to grace the occasion. The response was positive, as many of the invited celebrities attended, and thus, the townsfolk was happy. The townsfolk crowded over the floats of Feisty Actress (FA) and Controversial Talent (CT). FA had completed an explosive series that once again showed her acting prowess. CT, meanwhile, has been hounded by intrigue for being chummy with the lead actor in a project. Both FA and CT have appeared in the said project at different times.

While FA and CT were entertaining the crowd and getting overwhelming support, a Third Personality (TP) was not well-received and her float hardly has people following them. Unlike FA and CT who came with just their usual assistants, TP came with several bodyguards, who were such a surprise to the town. The presence of TP and her bodyguards raised many eyebrows and people felt uneasy. After all, TP is no longer visible in TV and hardly has she done projects lately.

Nonetheless, hiring bodyguards was the response of TP’s Protective Boyfriend (PB) to her problem. After posing in several skimpy outfits and posting such photos in social media, TP confided to PB that she no longer feels safe. Being the protective man as he is and given his connections, PB made sure TP would feel safe to move around during moments he would not be with her.

Thus, when she arrived at the town with bodyguards, people were set off and wondered why she had to do that. It sent the signal that their town was unsafe. Thus, during the parade, the crowd focused their attention to FA and CT, who were game as celebrities. Sensing that no one was minding her, TP told her bodyguards to go down. However, the same thing continued, no one bothered to fuss over her.

After the event, the evaluation was unanimous in saying that TP will no longer be invited. Other that having bodyguards, she was not popular with the townsfolk and she had many whims. Given the talent fee she received, the town felt that they were shortchanged.

Making a Big Deal

Social media is now the new bargaining chip of many celebrities. Ever since marketing persons recognized the mileage that celebrities have through their followers, social media accounts have been used to promote products and services. Certain celebrities even have a price or a set of requirements if approached by a company for possible endorsement. By contrast, social media can also be used a weapon against companies or people who have offended the celebrity.

When Exciting Personality (EP) posted a rant against a certain company, her friends were no longer surprised when she brought up an issue in social media. Apparently, EP can indeed make a big deal of an issue that could have been resolved without making a fuss.

The behavior of EP in social media resurrected rumors about her behavior. For example, designers are not so warm toward her given the reputation of not returning borrowed outfits. Sometimes, when she goes to bars, she does not order any drink and just sips from the drinks of her friends. Expecting her to pay will not result to anything as well. Even the way her family treats the help was revealed, such as giving the salary late.

The rant of EP centered on her dissatisfaction on a certain service that involved Her Relations (HR). Apparently, EP was expecting some sort of upgraded service for HR by using her name. EP offered to promote the company in her social media accounts and cited her following as the additional mileage that the company can benefit from her. However, her request was turned down because no promo could accommodate her need and no official was around to decide on the matter. Then, as the service was delayed, EP took the opportunity to hurl her dismay at the said company without giving so many details.

‘Computers and the Internet have made it really easy to rant. It's made everyone overly opinionated.’ – Scott Weiland
