By contrast, with the prevalence of camera phones and vigilance of netizens, actions of celebrities are often recorded and uploaded in minutes. As most celebrities are net-savvy, their reactions are posted on their social media accounts. Denials or apologies are the most common reactions of celebrities, while bashers have a field day poking at the misdemeanor.
Whenever Celebrity Toughie (CT) decides to throw his weight around, expect someone to have captured that act on video and uploaded it online. Naturally, followers will immediately share the video and criticize CT for his actions. However, the reactions of CT are predictable. He would deny that he did something wrong or if he did, he would apologize. CT would even challenge people to square off with him, which is quite usual for bullies. Sometimes, CT would rant on his social media account, and thus, invite netizens to bash him incessantly. Regardless of what he says, bashers would always have a thing to say against him. Consequently, even print media and columnists would devote space and opinion for the actions of CT.
With controversy coming one after the other, some netizens smell that something is fishy, that is, people believe that CT is just resorting to cheap gimmickry to make sure he remains relevant. Given all his alleged offenses, neither group that oversees the welfare of actors nor any network has publicly reprimanded CT. Thus, while people thought that CT himself had nailed his own coffin with his latest antics, the opposite emerged. Instead of turning off projects, CT impressively turned all the negative vibes into various projects. The idea that his actions resulted from his intense and immense emotions seemed plausible. Even his so-called adversaries have benefitted from the act. Hence, after shaking the media every so often, CT seems to have been forgiven and blessed, as his work continues. The question is how long will this silence and meekness last.
‘The biggest and most interesting crisis in the world is the human crisis, and it never gets boring. It goes back to Shakespeare. You don't need a gimmick; it's just man against man and their intolerance of each other.’ -Sylvester Stallone
