Out of town trips are always welcome treats for anyone especially if fun and shopping are involved. Spending days with people strengthen bonds and friendship. Further, if people develop closeness with their companions, they become more comfortable with each other when they have to work together.

When Young Talent (YT) tagged along during one of the trips of a Female Friend (FF), he had no idea how expensive the trip would be for him. While YT and FF bonded with each other and took advantage of the break and distance from the busy atmosphere of showbiz, their companions went on a shopping spree. Someone from the entourage (SE) went on her usual routine and visited high-end stores. SE started getting the stuff she wanted and some gifts for the bigwigs of the company where FF works.

As SE calculated her possible bill, she realized that she will be overdrawing her credit card if she bought everything she chose. Instead of retaining only the ones she could cover, she asked if YT had a credit card with him. Nice and still naïve, YT gave his card and SE loaded her bill.

Once the entourage returned to Manila, SE gave the expensive gift to the bosses, who were impressed at the brands and appreciative of the thoughtfulness of SE. Meanwhile, YT was asked by the Major Cardholder (MC) why there was a seven-figure purchase on the card. It seems that YT had an extension card and MC was the principal. YT explained that SE asked to borrow and he agreed. Cool as he was, MC patiently waited for SE’s initiative.

Weeks passed and there was no word coming from SE. Then, in one event, MC and SE crossed paths and exchanged pleasantries and nothing more. MC was surprised that SE did not mention she borrowed the credit card of YT. As stories have their way of climbing all over the grapevine, one of the bosses (OB) found out that SE owed YT a huge sum. OB then looked at the expensive gift that was given by SE and immediately realized that the gift was part of the unpaid debt SE owed YT.
