    1. Nanay niya is half. So that makes her a quarter Pinoy.

    2. I wonder how she got nominated sa Oscars before.

Average to no acting naman siya and autotune pa ang singing voice.

    3. Watch mo bumblebee at acoustic songs nya

    4. @252 Baks panuurin mo yun True Grit. She was phenomenal in that movie hence the Oscar. Yun na lang nga her projects following that naging masyadong main stream teeny bopper eklavu.

    5. 2:52 I first saw her in True Grit when it was shown here at TIFF and i was amazed by her acting at a young age! Hindi sya pabebe, meron syang depth and she was barely known back then.

    6. So-so acting lang siya sa Bumblebee, Begin Again and Pitch Perfect.

      Singing voice niya, autotune rin.

    7. 2:52 AM typical pinoy hater! average to no acting? the audacity! Please watch True Grit and The Edge of Seventeen.

Yung Oscar nomination nya came from her outstanding performance in True Grit, her very first movie at the age of 13. Maghanap kang kopya ng The Edge of Seventeen at saka yung ongoing series nyang Dickinson. May lalim ang acting nya at versatile pa. At sa Bumbleebee naman, ilalaban kong ayan ang pinakamatinong Transformers movie, a huge thanks to her. She was able to put heart in a franchise na puro robot at pasabog ang laman. Imagine acting with an imaginary robot or next to nothing pa nga minsan, and be able to establish a relatable connection on screen. Maybe a mix of indie and mainstream. That kind of talent deserves to be seen by more people.

    9. 8:27 The Edge of Seventeen!!! Grabe yang movie na yan. Sya yung go-to coming of age movie ko. It gets me all the time. While I'm glad she got her Golden Globe nomination there, I'm disappointed she didn't get more recognition. Mas nafrustrate pa ako nung lumabas ang Lady Bird ay grabe yung hype nila sa movie while in fact, at least for me, The Edge of Seventeen was so much better.

  2. Her mom is half Pinoy di ba? So she’s really exposed to the food.

Hehe.

    2. You must not have tasted a great adobo.

    3. Adobo is humba in visayas which is one of my favorite foods lalo na pag may egg. Sarap. Masarap din ang nilagang baka. Pero sinigang hindi ko talaga gusto. May ibat ibang taste lang talaga tayo.

      Delete

    5. Saaame. Super asim na sinigang. Yum!

    6. My current fave is Cripsy Karekare ❤️

    8. Kanya kanya talagang taste yan.

I must have not tasted great Adobo. Charot! Pati Adobong pinaupo at pinatayo hahaha. Oh alam mo ba yun? Char, wala atang ganun haha. Love you! No hate, fun lang.

      Delete
    11. I think karamihan sa mga foreigners like adobo because it’s a mixture of both salty & sour, unlike sinigang which is just sour.

    12. Same hindi din ako mahilig sa adobo. Ive tasted hundreds of versions naman pero di sya tipong maeexcite ako pag kakainin. Un tipong keri lang kahit meron or wala. But yeah agree ako sa sinigang or bulalo kahit once a week meron sa bahay, lakas makahappy.

      Delete
    13. 10:43 true. Adobo kasi madali yung ingredients.

      Delete
    14. Taste is subjective talaga. Not everybody likes Sinigang, Nilaga etc. So keri lang yan if yan gusto nya.

  10. Filipino Adobo is the generic answer of those who don't truly embrace their Filipino heritage.

  16. Palitan naten ung scenario para mas lalong kakahiya mga Pinoy, example "Oh you have an American blood, what's your favourite American food?", "Oh you have an Italian blood, what's your favourite Italian food?" di ba ang weird.

    1. meron bang american food?

      Delete
    2. Actually, that’s a typical question.

      Delete

  17. Mas madali daw i type kaya adobo compare sa sinigang at nilaga.

  19. Wohooo pinoy pride!!!!

  20. She's a really great actress. Subtle lang kasi acting niya di kasi katulad ng shows dito na pa OA-an lang ang labanan kahit walang sense. Galing niya sa True Grit! And also try watching The Keeping Room. If you watch her interviews, she's really proud of having Filipino blood, I think close siya sa Filipino side of her family kaya ganon, hindi pa PR lang. I like that most of her roles are empowered women na hindi puro pa love story. Nag voice acting din siya sa Spiderverse and sa When Marnie Was There. And yes, watch Dickinson on AppleTv! 👌🏻
