  1. People elect officials to manage yung mga tao ng isang bansa. To simply blame it on people in this case of COVID-19 is an absolute excuse. OUR FAILURE TO FLATTEN THR CURVE is not just because of common Filipinos,,, IT IS BECAUSE OF THE POOR GOVERNANCE THAT WE CURRENTLY HAVE...

How about the LSIs na laging stranded sa stadium? The government has the biggest responsibility and they failed, big time!

    4. Hi Anon 12:45.. I live in Europe, same with Ph nung peak ng Covid dito may parally rally pa to support BLM.. the difference? May mass testing, contact tracing and honest announcements kmi ng mga number of cases.

    5. 12:45 please show your data on the number of persons infected through rallies. If you have no scientific data as evidence please shut up

    6. 12:45 i live in NZ and attended the BLM rally. the reason why people listened to the prime minister is because they were guaranteed financial help (mortgage/rent pauses, wage subsidy) especially if their jobs are threatened. kaya mataas ang trust. e saatin? anong pangako?

    7. Ngek!

    8. 1:03 let's be honest to ourselves, the time abscbn started their protest on the street for straight a week, after days the cases grew massively. At hindi pa matatapos diyan, UP rally, Sona rally, crowded stadium all that will be another numbers for the next days. If these things didn't happen stable sana cases natin hindi BUMULAGA NA PARANG BOMBA.

    10. @Kuryus admit it or not the Filipino people is part of the problem. No matter how solid the plans of the government to curb the virus. If we have people who cant follow the rules how would you expect the number of cases to decline? Kung ayaw ang mga napapaimplement na batas rally dito at rally duon instead to call for unity. And take note do not compare other countries to Philippines. Citizens of other countries are far more disciplined than Filipinos when they are in their own country. Put the Filipino in another country and see... the change in their attitude. In short, the Filipino is the cause of his own downfall.

As for money, well may money Ang government dahil lahat nagbabayad ng tax at kunti Lang yata kurakot dito. Some places, it's physically impossible to be 2m away from everyone else.

And ang plano talaga magantay ng vaccine? Let's unite in waiting? Yun na yun? My goodness, kabobohan. 27. One death is too many. But, para sa shutdown ng buong ekonomiya (na napkaraming epekto sa lahat, but more so sa mga mahihirap), kailangan isipin ano ba talaga ang real burden ng COVID and what is the actual mortality rate. We don’t know yet for sure. But nakita ko sa Philippine statistics authority website na mas madami ang mga namatay last year until June kesa this year:

“Preliminary January 2019 to June 2020
The preliminary number of registered deaths from January to June 2020 reached 259,426 and was lower than the registered deaths in the same months of 2019, numbering at 309,010. The gaps from the registered deaths in the same months of the previous year were lowest in February (45,730 in 2020 vs. 48,806 in 2019 or a 3,076 difference) followed by January (53,078 in 2020 vs. 57, 704 in 2019 or a 4,626 difference).”

So Kung mas madami namatay last year - could be for many reasons btw - but kung iisipin natin, justifiable ba ang panic natin ngayon sa pandemic? Baka naman we are so overcome by fear because we don’t know much about the virus. If it’s infectious but doesn’t cause excess deaths (compared to previous years), should we maybe take a minute, calm down and rethink the way we are reacting?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies

      Delete
    2. Hi I think you missed my point. Pero may mga more likely mamatay in comparison to others. We have to protect those who are more likely to die from it and allow the rest to function as normally as possible.

    3. 12:50, you have no idea as to what you are saying. This virus spreads very easily. Just look at what’s happening in the US. More than 5 million cases and 165,000 dead, and rising fast.

      Delete
    4. I find that response extremely arrogant. I do not engage in that kind of exchange, I try to respect people's opinion (we are all entitled to it). For this once, let me respond. First, I work in disease surveillance in the U.S. Second, you cite rising cases in the States - if you actually know what you are talking about, then you would know to qualify your statements. The numbers are higher now because of two reasons. First, at the start of the pandemic here, the U.S. was testing at 100K to 200K per WEEK. Today, the U.S. is testing at 750K to 800K per DAY. So more cases alone do not mean rising infection - it only corresponds to rising CONFIRMED cases. There was already a seroprevalence study done in NYC, where they found that 20% of the population had it. There are 8.9 million people in NYC, do the math (let me help you - that's 1.78 million people). Second, there is an emerging pattern of seasonality in infection. That seems to explain why at the start, the states in the northern region of the US were hit, then a "second wave" (which is not really an accurate term to use, but I'm using it to facilitate understanding here), happened to states in the southern region (Texas, Florida, Arizona, etc.). That is also explains why these states, with varying policy regarding lockdown, mask, school closure, etc. had a rise and fall in cases at the same time.

All the best to the Philippines. I pray for all.

      Delete
  28. Tingin ko mas mataas parin yung sa indonesia kasi mas marami na tayong na test which is 1.6 million na while ang indo nasa 900k palang ang natitest nila. Think about it, mas madami parin ang death count nila kesa satin so tingin ko talaga sila talaga ang pinakamadaming case, kulang lang sa testing.
