Preview, one of the popular fashion and style websites in the country, had to issue a public apology over publishing an article on how fashion designer, Jian Lasala, turned away from homosexuality.

The publication of the story angered many netizens, who claimed to be followers of the said site and magazine. Briefly, the story talked about how Lasala left his homosexuality due to religion.

Netizens expressed their disappointment at the website and others cited the insensitivity of the timing of the article, as next month is Pride Month. Harsher comments focused on how gays have supported Preview and would eventually stop patronizing the magazine. Others have even expressed that the seeming support of Preview was merely for show and its real colors have been shown via the story.

After getting the ire of the LGBTQ community, the website took down the said story and issued a public apology.

    1. The intent was to mislead and preach. It does not offer any critical eye. It's like featuring a black person who is denying his ethnicity and identity because of religion.

    3. I agree. If they just published the truth about someone’s life, i don’t see any problem with it. Preview is not being “insensitive”, i think “netizens” are being “over sensitive”. It’s a news so why they would not share it? They can support the LGBTQIA comm at the same time the other side of the community too. Love over war ❤️ Let’s just respect one another bc we are all entitled to our own opinions.

  2. If that has worked for him, then...

  3. That’s too ignorant. You just can’t leave homosexuality. It’s either you are or you are not. It’s not a choice.

  4. Parang iniinvalidate kasi ng story na yan ang homosexuals, na its just a phase and they just need God. Nagpakaexperimental lang ata yang designer at hindi naman talaga gay.

  5. I love my LGBTQ friends and families, but I think Over reacting naman yung magagalit sila dahil lang hindi sang-ayon sa lifestyle/belief nila ang featured story. What’s wrong with leaving homosexuality? Eh sa yun ang naramdaman nung tao, walang pumilit sa kanya.. Pero if it is the other way around OK lang? Sa tingin ko as long as nagpapakatotoo ka sa sarili mo it is a story worth to be shared

  14. Sensitive naman masyado. Choice nya yyn and it's a fact na nangyayari yan. What's wrong with that? Parang getting out of the closet lang din yan someone made a choice so baket need magalit. Akala ko ba freedom of choice. So pag naging lalaki sya masama na? Or self righteous?

  15. So he’s going back in the closet (then most likely come out again when he’s much older) good for him.

  19. It is an interesting article. May mga member talaga ng community na overly sensitive, di marunong makinig ng ibang insight.

  20. What was the article about? And so, if he's turning his back on homosexuality - hindi ba pwede? Bawal? Bakit naging insensitive sa LGBT eh personal choice nya un. Isn't that what they're championing, respecting one's personal choice when it comes to one's sexuality so bakit sila maooffend if a gay person chooses to be straight?

    1. It’s not a choice. That’s the point. No one can choose their sexuality. You are born with it, therefore you can’t just willfully change it.

  21. A lot of people here don't understand that homosexuality is NOT a choice. You can't turn it on or off. Straight ka today tapos bukas gay ulit? That's not possible. Ang point ng LGBTQ community is this article undermines all our efforts to be accepted in society. Also think of the impact this might cause to LGBTQ youth, they might think there's something terribly wrong about them. Kung maka-react! Mamya nyan yung pamangkin/kapatid/kaibigan nyo pala e closeted tapos ganyan kayong high and mighty kung maka judge.

  22. If your business will be affected, why not apologize immediately? A thousand could be jobless if they will close down

  23. Why leave homosexuality when it's really who you are? Well, you really cannot leave it. You can only fake it.

  24. “Left” is a wrong word to use. You can’t leave anything that is part of you. You can pretend, hide, deny or go back to the closet, but you can’t change who you are. You can’t just discard it like a piece of clothing because you can’t discard you.
