  1. It depends on how you give meaning to the song. Wala nmang nabanggit in particular.

      Delete
  2. I think the high he was referring to was from the music.

More to come!

    2. 1:38 tama ka

    1. He looks like that but he's one of the best lyricists around.

    2. Actually, Shanti Dope's album is dope. Incomparable to the jologs rappers that you have listened to. Gloc 9 discovered him. Meaning there is so much potential.

    3. Looks can be deceiving oi. Mukha lang siyang burgis pero if you listen to his song may meaning. Ganda ng lyrics and beat.

      Delete

      Delete
    6. 1:59 baka iba ang alam mong meaning ng burgis maybe what you meant was mukhang dugyot. Burgis pertains to a high social class (although the French origin means middle class).

But I will not go that low to bash him. I won’t call him names. I even think he’s a good artist. I’m the commenter here who said to keep the beat but change the lyrics.

  5. kaloka, freedom of speech, a song is just a song

    1. No. Every song has a message. They’re not just songs for no reason.

      Delete
    2. @ 2:42pm... and people are free to express whatever message they want. Hence, freedom of speech. It’s a slippery slope when the state can just decide to ban something simply because they don’t like it. It’s not as if the song is about getting people to join ISIS?

  6. ngek sino na naman yang new found jeje artist na iyan

      Delete
    2. he's not jeje, maybe you are. His songs and beats are really dope and very current

      Delete
    3. Well, never heard of him pero if he's the singer of "nandyan ka na naman" ahm yes, jeje nga for me. Parang same level lang ng mga batallion or whatever. I prefer to listen to songs na may class at substance.

    2. 1:34 that’s not even the point. the government should not have a say in what you can and cannot listen to.

      Delete

Selective sila sa censorship, ang kanta kanya-kanyang interpretasyon based on your own experience na makarelate aside from the composer's intent. Gamit utak minsan please

      Delete
    5. @2:44pm those are guidelines for mature content. If the government want to slap an age rating on his album or music then they can do so. But to outright ban something because they don’t like their own interpretation of something sets a dangerous precedent against freedom of speech.

  8. Nung bata ako may ganitong issue ang Eheads with Alapaap ata. Saka may mga state na nga na legal yan for recreational use, stop being so sensitive at magfocus sa mga totoong issue like bigfish na until now 3 years na wala pa ding nahuhuli.

    1. yung kanta din ni Ed Sheeran na The A-Team about prostitution so she could buy drugs

  9. Then the government should call out Unique's song about or inspired by O-Zone tragedy.

  10. Narinig ko na to randomly sa spotify with the tatak pinoy playlist. Sobrang ingay at wlang ka sense sense tlga. So tama lang din nmn na e ban yan.

Obviously, u like the song, honestly, i don't even know it. Pero anong sense ng pag google? Enlighten me.

    3. I have no idea with this song. Then nakita ko trending ang Shanti Dope. I got curious and checked, nakita ko lyrics and I think it's nice lyrics in it. Or yung nag interpret sa kanila, madumi talaga utak.

    4. hahaha butthurt is 212, gen z snowflake

    5. So just because you don't like the song, ipapa-ban mo? May choice ka naman na huwag pakinggan. Di ko rin gusto ang kanta pero trip nya yan, as long as wala suang natatapakan o pinapatay, let this person have his right to freedom of expression.

      Delete
  11. Daming time ng PDEA.

    ReplyDelete
  12. PDEA, you're interpreting the song in a wrong way. For me, it discourages the use of any chemical para magkaroon ka ng amatz. Pasikat masyado 'tong PDEA. E bakit di niyo sinita o binan yung "wild, young and free" na sikat na sikat dati. OA. Ganda kaya ng beat nung song n8 Shanti. Hahahahaha

    1. This government is becoming too sensitive and defensive!

  13. pabida naman tong PDEA.. nung araw nga may mga kanta pa like ALAPAAP, LAKLAK, CHIKININI hahaha pinapasikat nyo lng lalo ung kanta at si shanti dope sa ginagawa nyong yan

Tss. Walang utak talaga PDEA. 😡

  15. Its a song that doesnt promote anything good so just stop creating trash.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Does a song really have to promote anything good? Ang daming nonsense songs nowadays, some even have explicit lyrics, especially from international artists yet they are allowed to be played sa Pinas. OA lng nitong PDEA!

      Delete
  16. I just read the lyrics and obviously it pertains to getting high on w**d or s****ms. As an oldie tama lang na I ban yung song. If the listeners like the beat then change the lyrics then.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  18. Funny yung ibang commenters. Parang mga batang nagpapalusot sa magulang. Those who are born between the 60s and 70s would know what the lyrics mean. And yes tama ang PDEA. The title alone you already know what it pertains to specially if you read the lyrics. Change the lyrics keep the beat.

    ReplyDelete

    1. So those born in the 80s and 90s don't understand the lyrics? Ganern? What kind of reasoning is that?

      Delete

      Delete
  19. Obviously those defending the lyrics are the younger crowd. What kind of a reasoning is that? Problem with the younger generation humina comprehension, naging snowflake and sensitive when called out. Try to learn history as well.

Using organic substances was in fad during the late 60s to 70s. So people born in that era are more aware because its use was prolific. So okay ka na?

Just to be clear I’m also against the war on drugs but let’s call a spade a spade.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Then why is there "Di bale nang musika ikamatay

      Delete
    2. @ 7:49pm What on Earth are you talking about? Most people defending this song are doing so with regard to people’s right to freedom of speech. If that’s not good enough reasoning for you, maybe you should move to North Korea.

      Delete
  20. Reality: Most people will not memorize the lyrics but will hear the words “lakas ng amats ko”. If you just listen to the song you will not understand the lyrics at all since it’s rap and the words are spoken too fast.

But thanks to this controversy at least Shanti Dope is now in the consciousness of a lot of Filipinos. Maybe that’s his way to get noticed. Sometimes struggling artists have to do something controversial to be part of the mainstream.
