Before 1917, all male-line great grandchildren of the British sovereign is entitled to the title of "Prince" and style of "Highness". If it was back then, Baby Archie would have been known as His Highness Prince Archie of Sussex. But after King George V revoked this, all male-line great grandchild of a soveriegn is styled as any child of a British duke along with a courtesy title unless the sovereign issues a letters patent to decree that Archie is to be address as a prince.
it only the name or title but it matters The best index to a person's character is how he treats people who can't do him any good, and how he treats people who can't fight back. spread the love each everyone👶🏼
2:20 yes it's only a title but it matters to the British people becz the heir (or heir apparent) will someday rule & if no one's eligible, the next in line could rule it.
Decades ago, he was also just a spare to Charles as Harry is to William. Their sister Anne had to move futher down the line kasi ganun yung rules before unlike now, Charlotte kept her spot.
Meghan and Harry have elected not to use courtesy titles at this time - so Archie will not be reffered to as the Earl of Dumbarton. Palalakihin daw nila as a normal kid.
I'd hate to be called Archie when I'm 40. Hahaha. It's a cute name for a dog or a baby or as a nickname. Archibald nalang sana. And don't get me started on Harrison.
Oh well, I do get your joke. But names are also somehow cultural and historical. Minsan nakakalimutan na yung historical background ng pangalan kasi naikabit na sa like you mentioned, in Cebu, Harisson id identified with a watering hole. But for folks in Manila, iba ang perspective nila sa Harrison. I know old Caucasians named Archie and they do not hate to be called as such even if it is popularly identified with the comic character.
I like Harrison! Archie is a bit too casual for a royal baby. Diba dapat Archibald or Archimedes.
DeleteArchie is actually cute and normal. I like it for a change..
DeleteDoesnt matter because he's not a prince and palalakihin daw syang d royal.
DeleteNope. Archie is always in top 20 of popular british names. Even Georgina Wilson’s son is named Archie.
That name was one of the popular guesses of the brits.
DeleteMeghan will make sure he gets a title Charles will be king.
Delete1:32 it may be popular but not for a royal baby.
Archie is more popular in Britain than in America but it seems to be perceived as an American name.
DeleteGeorgina named her son Archibald. Archie is Baby Burnand’s nickname.
DeleteWala syang title? Hindi prince?
ReplyDeleteOnly the immediate family of Prince William ang eligible sa HRH title coz the Cambridge is the heir apparent to the British Throne.

DeleteOnly the direct heir to the throne shall be given the title Prince and Princess.
i.e Prince Charles -- his sons Prince William and Prince Harry
Prince William -- his sons Prince George and Prince Louis
Since Prince Harry is not the direct heir to the throne, he can't have his children bestow the title of Prince and Princess.
Heirs to the throne:
Prince Charles - first in line to the throne
Prince William - second
Prince George - third

DeleteWow, looks like they didn't go with the norm!

DeleteNah, Harrison has a regal ring to it. Archie is cute though.
DeleteArchie - was a tribute for the late Princess Diana's ancestor from Scotland; Archibald Campbell 9th Earl of Argyll.
ReplyDeleteHarrison - means "Son of Harry"
That ancestor who was beheaded in "Dumbarton" for treason against King James.
DeletePhotoshopped image by the way sa IG photo.
He is a son of a duke, I wonder why he isn’t a prince? Was it a choice?
ReplyDeleteYes. Ayaw ng parents. They want a "normal" life daw for their child.
DeleteHarrison kasi he’s Harry’s Son
ReplyDeleteArchie, Earl of Dumbarton dapat yung title nya but his parents decided not to use that title.
ReplyDeleteHe will be an HRH when Prince Charles becomes the King.
Earl of Dumbarton is his title but the Sussexes decided not to use it
