I used to ran a successful IG account but gave it up kasi time consuming and toxic. Though I did not get paid for anything I got tons of freebies sent to me to “feature” and get to attend events like advance screening of movies etc. views and interactions are very important, without them, walang susugal sayo. Lalo na pinagkakakitaan Ang social media, it has become a money making outlet, which hey, good for you! Si understand the frustration pag shadow banned ka or Wala na masyado nakakita sa account mo. So sa mga nagsasabi na it’s just social media, kung isa sa pinagkikitaan mo to, ma babadtrip ka rin kahit pa ba sabihin momma part time mo lang to.

If you are an influencer and online celebrity, brands use your engagement as a basis to get you as an ambassador and if magkano ang bayad sa yo. Higher engagement = higher pay/freebies/longer contract sa endorsement.

I don't think so 1141 208 heart has been known to be the reason luxury brands run out of stocks in the ph. She already has a huge following of fashionistas and it doesn't make sense that her posts aren't showing up sa home feed. Buong fashion week need balikan page niya para makita ano ganap
Maybe you should try limiting/shortlisting your posts to milestones/highlights/major events. Too many posts make your account look all over the place. Your posts, esp your reels, are becoming redundant and predictable. You need more creativity and substance. Hope this helps.

Shadowbanned: your content won’t show up on the Explore tab in IG or when someone types your name in the Search box. Meaning, people who don’t follow you already can’t see your content. But you yourself don’t know this so you think everything is normal until someone who doesn’t follow you confirms it
How do you get shadow banned: yes, you can get shadowbanned if you violate the TOS (terms of service) like posting inappropriate content. However, the algorithm that dictates who to surface in the Explore tab can also shadowban if they think an account is acting “spammy” such as allowing bot comments, etc. This is so that people who buy bot followers won’t get boosted in the platform. Malicious people can take advantage of this by going to a troll farm and telling them to spam an account they want to get shadow banned. This is what Heart thinks is happening here. The algorithm thinks Heart’s account is just full of spam and will suppress it (aka shadowban) because someone hired trolls to bombard her account with fake engagements to trick the IG
Result: You get less engagement (i.e. likes for comments). If you’re an influencer like Heart, this is a disaster because some deals pay you based on the number of engagement (for example, how many people see or like your post). Yes, IG can track even just eyeballs seeing a post.

11:50 this makes sense. Thank you for the detailed explanation. I hire engineers for a living and quite familiar with the AI/ML/algorithm concept. If this is the case for Heart, shouldn't she contact support to report? Most companies won't divulge that in fact they can see the IP addresses of those people reporting to her. They can also establish/see the patterns of these false reports and correct it from there. This may have to be escalated to an engineer who built or are familiar with how the algorithm was built. Also, this is one data to feed the algorithm that this type of pattern is fraud or a false positive and the more you feed data to the algorithm, the smarter it becomes in detecting..
11:50 pm here again…Those saying they can still see her account when they search so she’s lying. Maybe, maybe not. IG can also suppress just specific posts, not your entire account. So if the trolls/bots comment on a specific picture or post using banned IG hashtags, then the algorithm can detect it and suppress that one post.
Agree 12:57, she should report. However, IG only has a small team to handle escalations and complaints. Heart is only one of millions of users, they won’t prioritize her complaints. It could take weeks/months to sort out.
Not taking sides here, just trying to help people understand a little bit more how social media works.

She really does post too much to be honest. Not everyone is interested and everyone has their right to choose what they want to see from their feed. They can unfollow, hide, or report a person. Lalo if she’s taking over your feed so much. That’s a reminder for her na nakakaumay rin ang FW content LOL. Maybe other influencers are experiencing this as well pero ganun talaga, one of the challenges of being an “influencer”.

ReplyDeleteShadowbanned: your content won’t show up on the Explore tab in IG or when someone types your name in the Search box. Meaning, people who don’t follow you already can’t see your content. But you yourself don’t know this so you think everything is normal until someone who doesn’t follow you confirms it
ReplyDeleteHow do you get shadow banned: yes, you can get shadowbanned if you violate the TOS (terms of service) like posting inappropriate content. However, the algorithm that dictates who to surface in the Explore tab can also shadowban if they think an account is acting “spammy” such as allowing bot comments, etc. This is so that people who buy bot followers won’t get boosted in the platform. Malicious people can take advantage of this by going to a troll farm and telling them to spam an account they want to get shadow banned. This is what Heart thinks is happening here. The algorithm thinks Heart’s account is just full of spam and will suppress it (aka shadowban) because someone hired trolls to bombard her account with fake engagements to trick the IG
Result: You get less engagement (i.e. likes for comments). If you’re an influencer like Heart, this is a disaster because some deals pay you based on the number of engagement (for example, how many people see or like your post). Yes, IG can track even just eyeballs seeing a post.

Delete11:50 this makes sense. Thank you for the detailed explanation. I hire engineers for a living and quite familiar with the AI/ML/algorithm concept. If this is the case for Heart, shouldn't she contact support to report? Most companies won't divulge that in fact they can see the IP addresses of those people reporting to her. They can also establish/see the patterns of these false reports and correct it from there. This may have to be escalated to an engineer who built or are familiar with how the algorithm was built. Also, this is one data to feed the algorithm that this type of pattern is fraud or a false positive and the more you feed data to the algorithm, the smarter it becomes in detecting..
Delete11:50 pm here again…Those saying they can still see her account when they search so she’s lying. Maybe, maybe not. IG can also suppress just specific posts, not your entire account. So if the trolls/bots comment on a specific picture or post using banned IG hashtags, then the algorithm can detect it and suppress that one post.
DeleteAgree 12:57, she should report. However, IG only has a small team to handle escalations and complaints. Heart is only one of millions of users, they won’t prioritize her complaints. It could take weeks/months to sort out.
Not taking sides here, just trying to help people understand a little bit more how social media works.

That was caught in the act, in case you’re not aware… Now the shadowban- if other people can hire hackers/third party online farms, you can definitely hire tech people to figure out if there was something done to your account. That is why Heart talks about it openly and confidently. There are receipts ;)

DeleteShe really does post too much to be honest. Not everyone is interested and everyone has their right to choose what they want to see from their feed. They can unfollow, hide, or report a person. Lalo if she’s taking over your feed so much. That’s a reminder for her na nakakaumay rin ang FW content LOL. Maybe other influencers are experiencing this as well pero ganun talaga, one of the challenges of being an “influencer”.

Talaga naman less ang mga “likes” nya…people tend to just look at her photo and skip. I’m guilty of that. But I noticed less naman talaga likes nya ever since and in general. Also, yung time na sumikat yung YSL glasses I find is the peak of her influencer career. Ngayon umay na tao maybe because even when it’s not fashion week, puro fashion yung content? May umay factor rin…I know it’s her work but when all you see in her post is about fashion, nawawalan na ng excitement pag actual fashion week na…

Im not saying hindi okay yun ah, pero for people unlike heart na faswhown talaga feed before pa mprning-night bihis and product posting etc... yung mga ngayon na celeb ang TH na tignan kase biglang may pa post ng new bag or shoes.
