The 2019 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival closed on Sunday, August 11, with the annual awards night held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
The movie John Denver Trending won as Best Picture for the full-length category.
Jansen Magpusao won Best Actor for the movie John Denver Trending while Ruby Ruiz won the Best Actress award for the movie Iska.
Ricky Davao won the Best Supporting Actor for F#*@BOIS, while Ella Cruz won Best Supportig Actress for Edward.

DeleteIska is my favorite. Grabe, pumasok akong matino ng sinehan, paglabas ko para na akong ginahasa ng buhay. Napaka-traidor ng buhay para sa mga mahihirap. Si Ruby Ruiz ang naging repleksyon ng maraming mahihirap na mas lalong binababoy ng lipunan dahil sa estado nila sa buhay. At ikagugulat niyo ang cameo ng isang mainstream actress. Mababago ang tingin niyo sa kanya pagkatapos niyo mapanuod ang movie na ito. May lalim pala si ati.

DeleteSorry, after watching all movies, napakaraming mas deserving for best supporting actress than Ella Cruz. Malutong lang siya magmura dun sa Edward pero blangkong blangko ang mata. Nanghihinayang ako sa mga artistang punong-puno ng puso ang pagganap.
