Not surprised! Napakagandang pelikula naman kase. I saw it twice with two different sets of people. Partida, hindi pa ako fan ng kahit sino or Filipino movies in general. Both times, cinemas were full and lines were loooong. High end malls pa yan. So I’m guessing, casual viewers really liked this film.

They’re already two big stars in their own and were given a blockbuster tandem of direk cgm x Carmi Raymundo so of course the movie was expected to be a hit. This is the same team behind the success of THOU. But can Alden and kath make it if they paired with lesser known actors and a different team that’s isn’t STar Cinema is the real quesiton.
This is the thinking that can end the industry. The goal here isn’t to prove if one celeb or another can make big money compared to their contemporaries. The goal here is to make a local movie worthy of people’s time and hard earned cash. The Filipino cinema industry is at a slump lately and this revived interest. It takes a village, sabi nga nila. So good material, good execution, good marketing all in all good profit.
Yung sinasabi ng marami na hindi daw tinatangkilik or sinusoportahan ang pinoy films...hindi totoo yan. Many people watch good movies regardless of pinoy films or foreign film.

Kung babagal-bagal ka, the only way to watch this film is kung mag-isa ka. Kasi yung naiiwan na upuan sa sinehan eh yung mag-isa ka sa gitna, sa sulok, ganun. Pero kung may kasama ka, better prepare na tumambay sa mall before watching kasi punuan talaga.
Happy for Kathryn’s success but this also shows her strong suit is mainly your typical star cinema pabebe love stories. She isn’t a versatile actress, can’t do other genres besides love stories. The family movie she did with Sharon/Richard flopped, meaning people only want to see her in romantic drama roles.

Sorry for this rant but can people stop treating this as a competition between celebrities and just celebrate the fact that the Filipino people still have it in them to spend for quality movies such as this one? Never been a fan of loveteams. Ako lang ata ang nababaduyan pag nakikita ko ang real couples sa movies. So i watched hlg for the sole reason na walang real relationship na binebenta, rather the movie, the story itself. And it turned out really well... quite good actually. Alden and kathryn are such good actors. Ang galing ng story telling, the production, the script, kahit yung mga supporting casts, walang tapon. Mahusay at mabuhay kayo!
I’ve never seen a Kathniel movie. Was planning to wait for this on netflix but the reviews were too good so i spent hard earned money. I also watched this because of Alden. Ang galing pala ni Kathryn!!! Will watch her old movies on netflix.

ReplyDeleteKung babagal-bagal ka, the only way to watch this film is kung mag-isa ka. Kasi yung naiiwan na upuan sa sinehan eh yung mag-isa ka sa gitna, sa sulok, ganun. Pero kung may kasama ka, better prepare na tumambay sa mall before watching kasi punuan talaga.

She isn’t a versatile actress, can’t do other genres besides love stories. The family movie she did with Sharon/Richard flopped, meaning people only want to see her in romantic drama roles.

DeleteSorry for this rant but can people stop treating this as a competition between celebrities and just celebrate the fact that the Filipino people still have it in them to spend for quality movies such as this one? Nakaka frustrate kase. Matuwa nalang tayo na hindi pa pala patay ang pelikulang Pilipino. The success of this movie is because of the entire team. Kasama lahat. Let’s just celebrate that.

ReplyDeleteNever been a fan of loveteams. Ako lang ata ang nababaduyan pag nakikita ko ang real couples sa movies. So i watched hlg for the sole reason na walang real relationship na binebenta, rather the movie, the story itself. And it turned out really well... quite good actually. Alden and kathryn are such good actors. Ang galing ng story telling, the production, the script, kahit yung mga supporting casts, walang tapon. Mahusay at mabuhay kayo!

ReplyDeleteI’ve never seen a Kathniel movie. Was planning to wait for this on netflix but the reviews were too good so i spent hard earned money. I also watched this because of Alden. Ang galing pala ni Kathryn!!! Will watch her old movies on netflix.
