    6. 1254 - i dare you use the exact words of Maris during a normal conversation. I don't think you can do it without getting backlash from the other person.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Cannot and can’t are one and the same. 🤦🏻‍♀️

      Delete
    2. Edi ang funny pakinggan ng "cannot not". Mas ok na ang "can't not".

      Delete
    3. Cannot not is better. Sa mga hindi sanay gumamit awkward talaga pakinggan. Pero the phrase is actually used today.

      Delete

      Delete
    5. then bakit hindi pa niya umpisahan pumasok sa school at mag aral ng medicine.

      Delete
    6. simulan nya na ngayon, kasi 10 years ang kursong medicine. Wag panay publicity.

      Delete
  10. “Can’t not” is acceptable. It is not a double negative in a sense that it wouldn’t mean “can”. Instead, it means “must”.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Exactly. There are a lot of ways to convey an idea, all within the bounds of proper grammar. Ang daming nagmamagaling, hanggang elem english rules lang yata ang alam.

      Delete
  11. Ginagamit naman ‘yan talaga. As in:

    You can’t tell her anything.
I can’t not tell her anything, she’s my best friend.

    That’s acceptable.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Tama ‘yan.
    Can = Pwede
    Can’t = Hindi pwede
Can’t not = Hindi pwedeng hindi = MUST

    3. Trying hard pag nagkkamali sa spiel? And btw, ano masama sa pagiging TH? diba sign nga ito ng patience and perseverance. Mas nega pa nga ang maging hater kahit wala ginagwa sayo yung tao, kesa maging TH.

    1. Ano'ng pa show off dun teh? Tama naman statement nya ah. Saka trabaho nya yun as model/endorser of penshoppe.

  18. I can't not shop is correct. Emphasis on can't or not when spoken. Though is not often used, granted, it doesn't mean that it is not correct.

It literally means that she can't stop herself from shopping when she's in Penshoppe. And no, it's not trying to be witty as some posts imply.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Tama naman. Di lang nagets nung iba. Lol

    ReplyDelete

  31. Tama naman sinabi ni mariz. Looks like she's endorsing penshoppe? Alangan naman can't lang sabihin niya it will look negative, but sinabi niya "can't not" so naging positive na which bumagay sa pag endorse niya ng penshoppe.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ang daming feeling intelligent. Jusko.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Millenials are those who are born between 1981 to 1996 if I'm right, I dont think millennials tong mga nag mamarunong. Mga batang mga feeling lang.

    ReplyDelete
  34. There is always an exception to the rule mga baks

    ReplyDelete
  35. Kakatawa un nagcocomment dito na akala mo matatalino sila saying she is feeling or what. I am not a fan or her pero walang mali sa sinabi nya. Unang basa ko palang gets ko na. ReplyDelete
  43. What she wrote is right.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Schooled ang mga trying hard grammar nazis pero waley naman ang comprehension. Tama po ang post ni Maris. Don't be a know-it-all when kakarampot lang naman alam nyo.

    ReplyDelete
  45. INSTAGRAM LANG YAN. ITS NOT THAT DEEP! Pati ba naman one line caption pupunahin pa as if she said something offensive. GET A LIFE SIS! Kung concerned talaga kayong icorrect sya, a DM would be enough. Pamamahiya na yang pagblast sa social media. How would you feel if the same is done to you? Sa kagustuhan mong ipakita sa madla na mas tama ka, ipapahiya mo yung tao?!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Diba English subjects natin is from grade 1 to college at ni minsan di nyo ba na encounter or na discuss or naremember man lang yung mga ganitong English? Diba sa mga paggawa ng poem at stories nga you can invent your own words or use words or combination of words na medyo awkward or maling grammar pa minsan.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hindi ko gusto si Maris pero tama naman sya dito.
