  1. Sadly, some of these "journalists" aren't known now for in-depth research. They don't even get it right, it's not even called dowry for Muslims, it's called maher. Yes, gift, or token for the bride, and that gift/token is for the bride to do as she wants as it's hers.

    3. So,pwede rin ba ang cash? Baka kaya napagkamalian na payment???

    5. In Islam, dowry may be a form of cash, jewelries

  6. Required naman kasi. Pano mo naman masabing gift yan in the truest sense of the word?
Dami namang paraan to show/prove. Pero tradition nila yan eh.

    1. we need to respect that kung ano ang paniniwala ng ibang tao

    3. Yup, they just pretend it’s something else when in fact it is payment. If you have a job you can support yourself and your wife, yet that’s not good enough unless you can give actual money or goods. It’s a payment.

    4. Nde po lahat pera or gold. It can be a verse in the Quran na irecite nang guy in front of the girl's family. Or it can be a promise or anything na proof na he's good enough for the daughter....financially or emotionally good enough. Kaya nde sya matatawag na payment. It's more appropriate to call it a gift.

  7. Grabe 2019 na hindi pa pala nako-correct 'to? People especially media should be enlighted.

    4. Ahh ok, thank you mga baks sa pag-explain. Kakiba pala tlg sa kanila. I remember din na nagpost somewhere ang parents nya na looking for bride sya and madami nag-aapply, parang work hehe.

    5. 3:56 BINIBILI?! di nga bayad ang dowry.

Although in some countries binibenta talaga ng magulang yung anak, but still.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well, no matter how you say it. It is a form of payment. Otherwise why bother with it.
