Repost: The Full List of Winners of the Golden Globes 2019

In a Golden Globes chock full of upsets, the Freddie Mercury biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody" took best picture, drama, over Bradley Cooper's heavily favoured "A Star is Born" and Glenn Close bested Lady Gaga for best actress.

It was a good night for Britain, with Olivia Colman winning the best actress in a comedy or musical prize for playing Queen Anne in The Favourite.

She collected the prize, saying: "Cor blimey, thank you so much. I'm not going to cry because my entire table will point and laugh at me."

Fellow British star Christian Bale took the stage for winning best actor in a musical or comedy for his lead performance in Adam McKay's "Vice."

"What do you think? Mitch McConnell next?" joked the Welsh-born actor, referring to the Senate's majority leader. "Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration for this role."

Few winners were seen as more certain than Lady Gaga as best actress in a drama at Sunday's ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. But the veteran actress Close pulled off the shocker for her performance in "The Wife," as the spouse of a Nobel Prize-winning author.

Minutes later, the surprise was even greater when "Bohemian Rhapsody" won the night's top award, shortly after Rami Malek won best actor for his prosthetic teeth-aided performance as Mercury.

      Ragnarok. Nonsense.

    3. sa oscar’s wala namang jury. sila silang members ang nagbobotohan. more of a popularity contest.

  15. Caitriona Balfe is so underrated!

  16. A Star Is Born deserved it more than Bohemian Rhapsody (which I liked din). But Rami Malek totally DESERVED that Best Actor win.

    1. Nah, A star is born is just another remake. I think it’s a third remake already.

    2. But its the best version so far. Updated naman yung story to include real life issues.

  17. Ibang klase talaga yung pagpapahalaga nila sa movie and tv. Ibang klase yung mga awards shows nila. One day.

  23. I first saw Rami sa Twilight.. di na sya nawala sa paningin ko.. I remember pula mata nya dun or my red eye liner chuva hahahhaa.. I'm happy he won!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don’t think Bohemian will do well sa Oscars, usually opposite taste sila ng Golden Globes. It might be A Star Is Born naman or any other non-mainstream movie.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Glenn’s performance on the wife was one of her best. She really is a winner for me but gaga on her debut movie god she also desrves to win. And bohemian rhapsody over any other movies nominated on bes picture?????? Paano?.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Bohemian Rhapsody was fun, entertaining, uplifting, funny, not overdone, not overacted, just a fabulous two hours of cinema with a magnificent sound track. Yes it was cliched, yes it rewrote history to some extent in terms of timeline but none of that matters. It's an entertainment piece and entertain it did. Just a tribute to a great performer and a great band. The critics hated it, the audience loved it and I'm delighted it won over the more pretentious offerings.
