    2. The ad was presented to them. It was approved. I just don't think it is proper na ang sisishin ay ang DOT when ang may kasalanan all along was McCann. They were paid to do their job but they did not. They passed the proposal without informing the agency about the SA ad. Ibang tao pinalabas yung sa SA, wayback at hindi pa yung current DOT team. They do not know.

    3. Wanda Woman comes out for Miss Universe and for Anthony Bourdain but hides together with Noli's daughter (whatever her name is) re: this issue. Kakahiya silang lahat. They should all be fired.

    4. 1:40 You read the offcial statement naman di ba? They were not hiding... if they are, e di sana walang statement na ganyan?

    1. This is a great idea! I'm pretty sure YouTubers will charge way less than this ad agency. This could actually work. Sana makarating yang idea mo sa DOT bes.

    2. As a person working for an ad agency, these things are purely executional... and i'm sure this will be done once the big idea is made! What dot needs is the big idea, the concept, the thinking behind it... saka na yun mga execution. Personally, it's more fun in the philippines should have bern strenghthened.

    3. 1:00am. What does CBCP had to do with this issue?

      Delete
  3. Dapat lang. The ad agency has a P650M contract with DoT then copycat lang ang mga tourism ads nila.

    1. Dot as the client should have checked. They also approved this ad to come out. Hugas kamay pa more

    2. I suggest the DOT to put back the old tourism campaign of WOW PHILIPPINES and remake its MTV. Mas original at maganda pa

    3. 1:16 sa dami ng bansa, s dami ng ads matatandaan at maiisa-isa p b ng dot yn ad campaign ng ibang bansa? plus the fact n years ago n yn. kya nga sila nghire ng ad agency to come up with fresh ideas and do the works for them not the other way around.

      Delete
    4. 1:16 manisi pa more.

Lol

      Delete
    2. Ang trabaho ng ad agency is to create a campaign and present it to the company. I think DOT had no idea that the campaign McCann showed is a rip off. Nagandahan din siguro ang DOT sa ad so they approved it, not knowing na it was copied from another country.

      Delete
    3. 3:13 tama si 7:31! kaya nga sila nghire ng ad agency pra gumawa ng NEW concept for them. inaaprubahan lng ng dot kung ngustuhan nila yun idea n pinitch s knila.

      Delete
    4. Both sides may kasalanan. DOT nga nagbigay ng brief, McCann being the creative agency should have informed DOT na hindi original ang concept ng DOT & such a concept exists. They could have injected their own original concept & pitched it to DOT. They didn't have to follow the brief to a T 'cos most clients are also flexible.
Kasalanan din ng DOT that after seeing McCann's work they did not bother to check if it was copied or not.

    2. 3:09 Paulit-ulit? Kawawa naman kayo sa McCann haha!

    3. 3:09 am

Mccann was paid to do their job. which is to conceptualize a campaign.

      Delete
    2. 9:10 yes. they are partly to blame kasi hindi sila nagresearch. trabaho din nila yun.

      Delete
    3. 12:08

You wouldnt hire a wedding planner or an architect without knowing their work/s first.

      Delete

      Delete
    2. I strongly agree 2:11. Even the all caps letter was uncalled for.

  10. nung unang bakik ng comments ng netizens, kodo tanggi and defend sila sa ad nila, hindi daw kopya. nung iniscreen capture side by side na mga scenes nahulog siguro sila sa upuan haha and now hugas kamay na. kung nung unang wave ng bad feedback tumahimik muna sila nagpaka humble and say theyll verify if indeed there are strange similarities, eh di hind sila nagmukhang ta**a. the thing is, in this government, bawal sila punahin, wala sila ginagawang masama, now huli na sa bibig, nanjan na ebidensya, fully kasalanan ng ibang party without any bahid ng responsibility nila

  11. My husband works in an ad agency. I know for sure that every ads that has been released has always the approval of the client. Starting from the pitch, conceptualization, revisions until its final sign off for release, it always has the approval of the client, here being the DOT. Most of the time, the client would brief the agency on what kind of concept they want. The agency is only the support and the creative part of the whole project. It's not fair that DOT would put the blame on Mccann Agency.

    1. Tama na McCann girl. Pano kung wala naman idea ang DOT about the South African ads? They paid a lot of money so they expected the agency to do everything in good faith.

    2. @432, may kasalanan pa rin DOT. Hindi sila nagresearch.

    3. That is why they hired Ad Agency to conceptualize ads for Phil Tourism. They are the ones that aprove and disapprove. DOT people probably has not seen the ads of Africa and Swiss and they are presented with exactly same material and they liked it so they apptoved it. They are govt people and know nothing abt making concepts. They can direct the ad agency of what they want in a campaign but whole concept comes from the ad agency. They just approve it if they like the concept, gets?

      Delete
  12. The agency just keep wasting the people's money.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Clearly these hovernmentbisgovernment people are clueless.

    ReplyDelete
  14. And they paid 665 million pesos for that.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe the payment to the ad agency was just 5M. Then the remaining 660M could have gone somewhere else.

      Delete
    2. Very possoble 10:23 kaya public apology lang ang hinihingi.

      Delete
    3. I think the value of the whole contract is 665M & typically a contract is for a year or several years comprising of various campaigns. Maybe this is just one campaign and there would have been more had DOT not terminated the contract.

      Delete
How would the client know that na kinopya lang. They have fully trusted the ad agency on conceptualizing on their behalf.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Question is,was DOT aware na xerox copy yung inapprove nila na ad?I mean I think that in good faith nila napprove yung ad na walang katulad...

    ReplyDelete
  17. Nakakahiya naman mccann pa naman

    1. IMO, hindi naman magaling ang McCann, all they have is their name. Hindi sa sinisiraan ko sila 'cos I have friends na nasa McCann (not in the Philippines though) but I'm basing this on the awards won & on experience, having worked with various creative agencies.

      Delete
    2. Ganun ganun lng teh 833? So pag binigay sayo hindi mo na ichecheck?

      Delete
  19. They wasted taxpayer's money. Sue McCann and fire the heads of the DOT. Lalo yung mga nagmamarunong dyan. Hindi enough ang public apology. Both the agency and the department bungled their jobs and will have to explain and return or money.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ask McCann to return the payment of DOT for the said ad and do this publicly. Just as how DOT issues the letter firing their services. That way we will know how much was really spent for this add and if DOT really paid 665M for this.

      Delete
    2. Some of the government officials were appointed due to utang na loob. WTH is Kat De Castro doing in DOT?

    ReplyDelete
  21. People in DoT responsible for checking ads should also be fired.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. So dapat ireview nila lahat ng ads from decades ago?

      Delete
    2. 1:07 decades? 2014 lang yung SA ad. Gawa pa ng same agency. Not that hard to research. They could have asked samples from McCann of their tourism ads ng ibang bansa para makita ng DOT kung magaling nga talaga magconceptualize ang ad agency.

      Delete

Kaya nga naghire ng ad agency to do the job for them. Kung ganon rin lang then DOT should do everything on their own. And it is the job of the agency to conceptualize and propose an original fresh idea. Number one ad agency kuno sila and yet they gave us sloppy seconds

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Its also the responsibility of the government to check it bago nila inair yun. And if someone commented na ginaya lng sana hindi sila naghugas kamay at aminin

      Delete
  24. Wala tayong magagawa, haters will be haters.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Kasalanan ng McCann period. Kahit lahat dapat approved by the client paano if the client is not aware there was a previous campaign with the same theme? DoT pa bidding ulit kayo and this time mas bigyan ng pansin yun mga maliliit na ahensya that have no ties with bigger agencies abroad, a homegrown all Filipino group.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  27. Kayo ba alam ninyo lahat ng tourism commercials ng buong mundo? They hired an Ad agency to specifically come up with an Ad that is good and original
