Very Unkind Behavior

Although several personalities have entertained viewers for so many years and have built their formidable reputations, the importance given to them by newer celebrities is no longer as much as it was decades ago. There was a time when new celebrities would give an arm and a leg for an interview with certain personalities, but they would often have to wait because schedules are quite tough. Nonetheless, celebrity hosts often manage to find time to interview such celebrities as long as they have controversial issues they had to address. By contrast, despite the established reputation and audience reach of such personalities, new celebrities have forgotten to give the corresponding respect these days.

Celebrity interviews, whether face-to-face or ambush, are important for the career of people who would want to establish careers in showbusiness. However, only a few hosts have developed respect, admiration, and staying power. In addition, these factors have added credibility to the host, which, in turn, translates to being trusted by the interviewee and the following of the audience.

Conducting interviews may look easy, as the host often holds on to question cards, and guests answer spontaneously. Work behind the scenes reflects the opposite. Much work is done, such as scheduling of the guest, researching on the background, and in some cases, agreeing to the type of questions that could be asked. Thus, interviews are not merely walks in the park, as these are products of the hard work of the staff and the talent of the host.

When Respected Media personality (RM) found out that Special Guest (SG) would be arriving several hours later for their interview, RM respected the request, even though it meant wasted time. SG became famous and idolized recently, which made RM extend his patience for waiting for the arrival of SG, who was hard to book. The camp of SG said she was caught in a previous appointment. RM understood, as given the new position of SG, presscons and similar commitments are unavoidable.

Finally, SG arrived and greeted RM, as though she was not at all late for almost four hours. Being professional, RM exchanged pleasantries and their interaction went smoothly. However, in the dressing room, SG was talkative and was sharing stories. Then, through her stories, she revealed that she did not have an appointment, as understood by RM and the staff. Rather, she allegedly spent the four hours malling and shopping, while RM and the staff waited. The diva attitude rears its ugly head again.
