Even after they parted ways as a couple several months back, John Lloyd Cruz said he will always consider Angelica Panganiban his best friend.
The two were spotted backstage during the ABS-CBN Christmas special on Tuesday and they seem to get along well for exes.
“If anything, siyempre we don’t want to lose the friendship. Si Angelica has been my best friend and I think she will remain my best friend for life. Walang makakapagpabago noon,” he said.
When asked if a reconciliation is possible between them, Cruz only said: “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves right now. This is not the best time to talk about that.”
Since he is not committed to anyone at the moment, Cruz said he is trying to make the most out of his life as a private person and as an actor.
“It’s not about being single. It’s all about enlightenment para sa akin. It’s all about new discoveries about yourself, your life, kung ano ang gusto mangyari. You only live once and I definitely want to make the most of it. Kung ano man ang pagdadaanan nating journey, it’s all going to be worth it for sure,” he said.
Last month, Panganiban said she and Cruz are happy although they are not together and that’s more than enough for the both of them.
“Siguro ang masasabi ko lang ay masaya ako ngayon and masaya siya. Magkaibigan kami at alam nating lahat na halos imposible sa dalawang tao na nagkaroon ng relasyon ang maging magkaibigan in the end,” she said at the time.
“Siguro isa 'yun sa mga bagay na proud kami dahil kahit gaano kahirap -- may struggle siyempre sa umpisa kung paano ma-maintain 'yung friendship -- pero tulad nga ng sinabi natin, nagmahalan kayo dati. Bakit naman kailangang mauwi sa away?” she added.
It was last March when Cruz confirmed his split with Panganiban after being in a relationship for more than three years.

Just Amass the Fans
A Network Insider (NI) is in panic mode these days because a Loyal Talent (LT) is like a non-performing asset for the network. Although LT has spent more than half of her life in the station, NI wants her booted out because she is not delivering in her career.
The predicament of LT is a common occurrence in the entertainment industry. If one were to measure the talents of LT, no doubt is she among the best performers in the industry. She has a good voice, dance moves, and other talents that her contemporaries lack. Thus, when she started, the network thought she would easily rise up the ladder and become one of the consistent performers of the network.
Unfortunately, as LT matured, it seemed that her popularity began to wane. Once thought to be ready for a big project, producers believed in her capability, but ended up losing their investment. Her supposedly numerous fans did not number enough to reach a break-even point. The experience was traumatic for LT as well as for the network. However, LT moved on and tried to reinvent her image.
The problem of LT was still there despite her more mature look. Nonetheless, the network gave her many opportunities because she was loyal. Her latest project was assumed more manageable, but still, the outcome was not as expected in terms of revenue.
In addition, someone from the network had the bright idea of limiting the budget of a project that featured LT. This measure was done to give hints to LT that she needed to deliver or else. Moreover, the project was done in such a way that the cost-cutting measure was obvious. Thus, the network was bashed in social media for the poor quality of work done for LT.
After some time, the network decided to conduct an investigation on the barrage of reactions they received via social networking sites. The discovery was shocking, as it was revealed that most of the accounts that had lambasted the network were troll accounts of netizens who were allegedly paid for by a Close Supporter (CS) of LT. Blood is thicker than water between CS and LT. Sadly, with this twist, the network is realizing that talent, looks, and loyalty are insufficient to propel one into becoming a star despite network support. Moreover, the noise of fans only matters is such reaction could be translated into revenue.
