Their Dangerous Liaisons

As news personalities cover daily events and issues and make the public aware of things that matter in politics, current events, entertainment, etc., much more interesting stories happen behind the cameras. Sometimes the personal lives of these news personalities are more colorful than the events they cover or the exposes they unearth.
Unknown to many, Male News Personality (NP) and Female News Headturner (FH) were once in a relationship during their teenage years. However, those years were quite traumatic for NP, as his parents were in opposite political camps that polarized the country. Thus, to avoid further complication, the family of FH made it known that they do not want to be associated with the political affiliation of NP. Since they were still young, the two obeyed the elders and pursued different paths.
If love is true, it will find a way to rekindle the heart. As years passed, NP and FH were soon moving in the same field and soon found themselves working in the same network. Although they specialized in different beats, there would be instances when they work with each other at a professional level. Since no secrets are kept in the newsroom, the juvenile past of the couple was unearthed and the teasing started. NP and FH became friendlier, and soon, they became very close, despite the fact that they married.
Actions fuel rumors. When NP flew abroad for an assignment, FH filed her leave. People did not really put much color into it, as FH is someone who frequently travels and perhaps, she wanted time to spend with her family, or so they thought. The rendezvous would have been kept in secret had it not been for someone who spotted NP and FH on a date. If something beyond friendly happened, only they know, as everything has to be kept from their respective spouses.
People who are familiar with the husband of FH fear for NP if he continues to be chummy with FH. The last person who tried to court FH was badly beaten up. The family of FH’s husband is wealthy, and contrary to common belief, NP is not really part of the lineage of the wealthiest of families in the country. He has been making his name and his living by working very hard. More importantly, he has his own family, which should be his priority.

“We are greatly concerned about the viral video of Baron Geisler’s latest bar incident in Angeles City, Pampanga which is currently making the rounds on social media.
“We empathize with Baron Geisler’s plea against the discrimination he suffered from the bouncer and management of the said venue.”
“As can be seen in the longer version of video, Baron may have overreacted due to frustration but had reason and was well within his rights to question and demand explanation from the manager or somebody who had authority, why he was being denied admission into a public place that offers entertainment and serves alcoholic beverages.”
“We do not know of any bar that discriminates against incoming patrons whether they appear inebriated or not. We can only conclude that this is a result of the stigma caused by similar incidents involving Mr. Geisler in the past.”
“Management caused the incident and aggravated the situation by hurting the feelings of Baron. As clearly appearing in the video, there is no single justifiable reason for the management to deny admission except that he is Baron Geisler with obvious past issues.”
“Nevertheless, a place for entertainment open to the public, locals and foreigners alike, cannot single out any individual purely because of the stigma of his past, unaccompanied by any illegal act, untoward incident, violation of law, ordinance and rules of the establishment.”
“Despite the commotion outside the bar, we are thankful that Baron had the right mind to walk away in the end from the said incident.”
“We pray for sobriety and that the public be more discerning before judging anyone.”

Making a Candid Revelation

The road to stardom is not always as expected. Some wannabees go through tens of auditions and join reality shows and talent contests before being noticed. Some have influential parents in the industry who can pave the way to fame and fortune. Some are lucky enough because only through their good looks were they able to achieve success. Face it, not everyone who has reached popularity and influence has anything else beyond a pretty face or a muscular body.
However, there is another factor that is never revealed and is only talked about within the inner most circle of the industry, i.e., being fancied by big industry insiders. Over the years, beautiful talents have been the subject of speculations that somebody at the top is behind their successive projects. What prompts such talks is how these new talents are overtaking homegrown talents for meaty roles.
For example, the travails of Good-Looking Actress (LA) match such factor. When LA was finally given her major project, much hope was pinned on her, as her physique indeed fit the challenging role. Unfortunately, the project failed below expectations, and since then, LA had not landed a major primetime role.
Even if she did not have any project, LA continued to linger in the network. Apparently, her “loyalty” seemed to pay off. Sometime ago, LA was about to be given a major role again. However, when Intelligent Insider (II) found out that LA was going to be one of the leads, she put her foot down and blocked the initial casting. II stressed that the project required real and legitimate actresses, and LA was not among them. Her lack of acting talent was the reason why her solo project could not rate at all. For this round, II won.
Months later, II inquired about the status of another project. She was shocked when she learned that LA had the lead role. II could not stop the project as it was already finished. The only action she could do was to watch the final edit. After sitting through the initial viewing, II could only shake her head, as she was quite upset. LA could not act at all. Finally, II said that LA should not be part of the said project anymore. The production could only listen as II spewed left and right comments about LA being only a pretty face, but had not talent. They were too shocked to react when II said that LA only had projects because she was one of the women of powerful personality, even if she has a boyfriend. Thus, the secret was out.
