Gretchen is a reporter so I already expected her to wait for an opportunity to use the issue para i-trigger ang taumbayan. And she took advantage of that one incident and sensationalized it. Itong mga celebrity na to nagkokompetisyon kasi kung sino ang may mas dramatic na post about the corruption eh!

Ito ay usapin ng kinabukasan, kalusugan, edukasyon, ekonomiya, pag asa, BUHAY. Yan ang mga ninanakaw ng corruption sa taongbayan hindi lang pera. Pero para sa mga taong kagaya mo na out of touch sa usapin ng corruption matulog ka na lang habang buhay sa iyong kweba ng kahibangan. Parang hindi ka Pilipino. Parang hindi ka Tao.

Matagal na rin akong nagtatrabaho dito abroad sa finance industry and I still see how the Philippines is often tagged as a high risk country for money laundering. Nakakahiya at nakakainis kasi kahit maliit lang na transaction, pag galing sa Pinoy source, agad nagdududa. Ang masakit, kahit gaano ka pa ka propesyonal, successful, or respected, dala mo pa rin ang image ng bansa mo. You can be surrounded by gold pero sa mata ng iba, you will always be from a corrupt system. Meanwhile, in first world countries, even ordinary citizens earn respect abroad because their systems are clean and consistent. Kaya nakakahiya para sa mga Pilipinong nagtatrabaho o bumibisita abroad na madamay sa ganitong tingin ng ibang lahi.
