    2. I’ve been living in SG for the past 13 years, in my experience or at least those I’ve encountered, they will approach you in decent clothing and will ask if you have some spare cash because they got lost and ran out of transpo money or something. it' happens but rarely. if you politely say no, they won't insist naman. Twice ata ako naka encounter in 13 years. Yun sinasabi Michelle na barcode, must be Paylah but hindi pa ko naka encounter. I also lived in Shanghai, China for a while, way back in 2017, through QR code in WeChat na talaga ang pag pass ng money dun even to beggars. Shookt din ako back then.

    4. DIGITAL NA DIN PANGLILIMOS NOWADAYS

    5. Scammer yun and not beggar. Begging is illegal in SG. Kahit yung mga street performers kailangan may permit or gov will give something for them to sell in return for your cash.

    6. Sa Ph din naman. Sa FB naglilimos with photos, captions, gcash number

    7. 11:55 7yrs din ako sa SG. Wala masyadong namamalimos doon.

๐Ÿ˜‚ Hello, lahat yata ng countries may pulubi. Ang iba walang choice but may iba rin na choice nila to live sa streets kasi may mental illness o nakasanayan na nila. As in bumabalik pa rin sila sa kalsada maski may mga org na tumutulong sa kanila.

Google din pag may time.

Begging is not allowed in SG. Lahat pinaghihirapan nila kahit nga matatanda nagtatrabaho. Yung nga mga matatanda or differently abled they will sell tissue kasi pinagtratrabahuhan pa din nila yun pero they don't beh. Dapat nia yatang edit twit nia and replace beggar with scammer.

    1. Meron din. But i think they have to declare na wala talaga sila ways and means to earn and the gov aids them with food and shelter.
      Pero bawal manlimos.

    5. Meron, but bawal manlimos.

  7. been in SG for the past 14 years and wala pa ko na experience na nanlimos. merong mga pumupunta sa bahay bahay pero they will ask if you can buy any of their products at a higher price compared to buying it from supermarket as a means for them to earn a living or for their studies pag mga students. they won't force you as well if yiu say no. pag sa sidewalk naman, yung mga nagbebenta ng mga tissue.

    2. Nakakarami ka na ate sa pagsasabi na walang nanlilimos sa singapore, feeling mo ang perfect ng singapore, pagyayabang lang lagi logo ng sg kasi tinatago ang mga ganyan, pero di nakakalusot just to live up to theur name na amg yaman ng sg๐Ÿคช

      Delete

      Delete
    4. 9:14, hindi perfect sa sg. May poor people din. But bawal talaga ang manlimos dito. Marami din religious groups dito that have soup kitchens. The elderlies and disabled naman can apply for license to sell tissues at mrt stations. Some do busking pero need din ng license.

Singapore is definitely not perfect but kung ikumpara sa atin, aba’y puedeng sabihing perfect dito. Haha.

    5. Da pilipins sa online nanlilimos.

  16. I'm wondering if the beggars here in PH are that "sophisticated" or already using such "modern" technique?
I normally have some change to spare. The only thing I've noticed is majority of them don't say "thank you." In fact, some not all, stare with a dirty look if you only give P5. Pathetic!

  18. Part ng financial inclusion mga sis

    ReplyDelete
  19. Sorry but I guess that kind of approach is quite bothering. It could be some kind of a new techy-modus scheme na baka when you shared via that QR ma-hacked any app or bank details mo? Like passwords and all of your details?

sometimes technology gives you that freaking ref flags to get skeptic

    1. Nope, that's a qr code. Most likely Paylah or PayNow. It exposes the account of the receiver, not the sender.

      Delete
    2. Nope, that's called financial inclusion. Dito kasi sa Pilipinas, mababa yan kaya cash is king. Maraming walang bank account, digital or traditional man. Hallmark of a first world country- access to financial institutions & vehicles. E wallets included.

  20. Yeah shes off on this one. Transactions arent limited to physical exchanges on material platforms. Even charity. Eh corruption online at gadget gadget at codes and in the cloud e di ang paghahati at pamimigay e di digital din

  21. UAE naman mga beggar naka kotse lol

  22. More than 20 years in Sg and wala ako naencounter na nanlilimos na gaya sa pinas. Ang meron is yung nagbebenta ng mga tissue packs sa mrt stations at higher than normal prices. Pero these people are licensed. They are usually the oldies and or disabled. Meron din yung FOREIGNERS na nagbebenta ng keychains, pens sa mga malls and kopitiams (na obviously not licensed) na nagbebenta ala quiboloy peeps. Pero di din sila namimilit. May mangilan ngilan na hihingi lang ng dos kunwari pamasahe nila papunta sa other side of sg. But they usually just ask for $2 or so. Never encountered any with barcodes.

  23. I have been based here in Singapore since 2014 and yes, there are a few beggars islandwide. They are decent and the type that won't insist if you say you don't have anything to spare. Regarding the code, I think it's PayNow or PayLah which is a standard way of payment here in SG recently. I actually went to church today for a Good Friday Mass, I also saw some codes pasted on the pews for those who would want to give their money offerings in a cashless mode. A blessed Holy Week to all. ~ERLR

  24. Last time I went to SG wala ako nakita nanlilimos. May nakita ako parang homeless, matanda sleeping on a bench malapit sa library with a stroller full of stuff.

    ReplyDelete
