The 59th Baeksang Arts Awards has announced its nominees for the television and film categories!
The candidates were chosen among dramas, shows, and films that aired or were released between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023. However, works that were released during last year’s screening period were also included in this year’s pool. 60 industry experts were surveyed ahead of the final nominations. In addition, productions that were excluded last year because they were released during the screening period were also included in this year’s pool.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 28 at Paradise City in Incheon starting at 5:30 p.m. KST. The program will be broadcast live on television via JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4, and it will also be broadcast live via TikTok.

DeleteTrue, betting on SHK too. Yun naman din kasi ang required for her role, may pagka-deadpan na malalim ang hugot. Vindictive. May binabalak but you can't figure her out. Her role is not meant to be over the top. She's a method actress, I remember I saw an interview where she said she did not eat much for days before a shoot to really embody yung role niya for a specific scene. Also she got comments na she looked really old sa role niya, but I read somewhere wala talagang makeup yung role niya, and sinadya na yung mukha siyang stressed cause oo nga naman, you're portraying someone na mahirap ang pinagdaanan sa buhay. If you've watched 'The Glory' she's amazing in her subtle nuances, she goes from a staring blank look and changes beat and the mood sa mata pa lang niya. Good acting does not necessarily equate to hysterics.

ReplyDeleteYes, ang hirap pumili between the two. Minsan na lang ako manuod ng kdrama na isang upuan and ito lang yung dalawang series ang natapos ko after ilang years na nawalan ako ng gana manuod ng kdrama. Sa dami ko na kasi napanuod na kdrama minsan wala na bago sa story.

ReplyDeleteI've watched most of Kim Ji Won's dramas. Magaling talaga sya and versatile too. Nahype lang si Song Hye Kyo sa Glory kasi ngayon lang lumabas sa comfort zone nya. But between the two, Ji Won is the better actress.

Though I don’t mind na manalo si Park Eun Bin kasi ang galing niya din as Attorney Woo, versatile actress indeed! Song Hye Kyo did good pero yang The Glory ang best performance nya compared sa lahat ng naging drama niya na lagi siyang walang emotion.

ReplyDeleteMagaling din si Suzy doon sa Anna. Ang hirap ng work ng mga judges this year lahat ng nominated na actresses napanuod ko yun mga kdrama nila. I think they all delivered more than what was thought they could, na transcend nila yun expectations sa kanila. This is specially true for SHK and Suzy na marami may impression na bano sa acting and puros ganda lang.

DeleteInfairness sa Best Actress nominees nga, nakakapanghinayang na isa lang mananalo kasi lahat magagaling. And agree abt SHK and Suzy's acting. Revelation talaga at isang malaking sampal sa mga nagsasabing they can't act.
DeleteIt took years for hye kyo to prove her abilities and still her costar was more talked about so I don't know. Di nga to pagandahan. Pagalingan ito ng acting skills.
DeleteThis role has proved that Suzy has evolved na as an actress. Ang galing nya nga dito, I must say. I love her past dramas esp While You Were Sleeping and Start-Up pero never ako na-hook sa acting nya. Kaya nagulat ako sa kanya dito. Parang she let her guards down and really embraced the role. Saka kitang masinsingang preparation yung binigay nya. Must say magaling din ang director nya dito.

ReplyDeleteSSK was good in MLN, but IMHO his performance was worthy of Best Supporting Actor recognition. His role was not that big and impactful. While LMK’s role was the core of MLN, and his performance was outstanding. I really wonder why he was snubbed. Shame.
