  2. Idk how a self-serving advice like that would affect someone diagnosed with depression. Hopefully, somebody learns from that and be kinder towards those who really need it.

    1. 1:27 you are a perfect example of an invalidating person with that first line of yours. Yes, other people with common situations get inspiration and even just validation from other people being strong enough token admit they had depression. Try to be more sensitive and attempt to KNOW.

    3. 12:15- Utang na loob tigilinan na yang Bandwagon mentality na yan when it comes to mental health.

  3. I think what she was trying to say is if you're depressed, allow yourself to receive love and trust. If others can't or won't give it to you, you owe it to yourself to give love and trust (if I may add also respect) to yourself. Allow yourself to heal and help yourself to heal from depression. Which I guess is true in some aspect. Depression is never easy. It has always something to do with the complexities of the mind and the sensitivity of the heart. Sometimes they would clash or sometimes they'd unite to stop living - living in a sense that life's without any purpose and meaning. A person can die without actually dying. Inner turmoil, indifference, apathy, hedonism - these maybe silent and invisible killers. I guess what's important other than compassion is understanding that it's not easy.

  5. I can relate to her post. I dealt differently with my past and it did not help me move on and let go. That pain came out very ugly in my behavior and now I am dealing with anxiety and depression. For 2 yrs I can't accept that I am mentally ill but now that I found a group of people dealing with it as well, I found myself accepting my situation. This is very hard but I keep on fighting.

  6. I’m not saying that depression is not a real thing pero pansin ko nowadays social media has made depression look “cool.” Makaramdam lang ng kaunting sadness sasabihin depressed sila just to join the bandwagon. May mga tao talaga na nakakaranas ng depression but they don’t go around boasting about it on social media just to seek attention. Just saying.

    1. Tama. Actually the real depressed people are suffering in silence.

    2. My 19yo son was diagnosed w depression and was given a prescription drug. Dito kasi sa first world, big deal yang mental health. From time to time na nag uusap kami I asked him how he felt and why he felt that. Daming issues: dysmorphia, he felt not smart enough, guilt feelings for burdening us financially... wc for me really sound silly. Pero sige na nga. Support na lng kasi di ko naman pwedeng baguhin pananaw nya as of now. Let's see in a few years pag nag mature na.

  10. Sounds like people here either need to reread what she wrote or simply don't get it. And some of the comments here are showing the lack of empathy she's talking about. Let's educate ourselves.
