    1. 1217 poor reasoning of a network tard. Accidents can be avoided. And pls since this is an actio scene, there should have been medics around the area.

    2. 1227 accident happens because of negligence. In this case, the management is to be blamed for the negligence in keepong its working environment safe. Much more there was no medic around the area.

    3. Agree. Injury worsen by mishandling of people who are not medics.

    4. It’s not the accident, it’s how they handled the accident. Kaya siguro lalo lumala yung condition.

    5. Dude 90 years old. Tapos eksena habulan, bakbakan, barilan.

    7. 12.17,wake up call na yan sa lahat na dapat may stand by ambulance and medic team. And for them to make sure na safe environment ang pinagsshootingan or taping, esp 90yo na yun tao oh.kung nataon na hindi big star ang naaksidente, ano isolated case na naman ba? Bulag ka ba o nagbubulag bulagan sa nangyari on how they handled and carried mr.

  3. THAT WAS AN ACCIDENT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED. Tama na yung “aksidente Walang May kasalanan” na reasoning na yan.

The fact that he got hurt on the job already makes his employers liable.

They have a greater liability if they fail to provide a secure work environment for their artists and production crew. Mangyari lang na sa isang artista nangyari ang insidente...what if it happened to a lowly crew member? Kalimutan na lang? Hindi na pananagutin ang GMA at production?

Enough of “aksidente walang may gusto mangyari yon at walang dapat sisihin” because this is what irresponsible parties and employers say to recuse themselves from being fully accountable for the harm caused upon a person under their employ.

    2. THIS! Wala sanang news blackout or white washing na mangyari dahil very powerful ang GMA Network.

Occupational Safety and Health is a thing at work no matter what industry you are in. Halos lahat ng malalaking kumpanya, strive to be certified ng OSHA standards.

  4. Accident yan eh. Accident can happen even freak accident pa. Ako naman ang na aano ako was the way they handled him after the incident. Lalo pa ngayon na he has injuries pala sa neck. Very delicate na buhatin sya basta basta

  5. He tripped on the cable, that’s clear. Walang safety check kasi sa pinas. Ang gulo gulo lagi.

    1. yeah and there was a crack on the road pa. I think his accident was made worse by people who were obviously just trying to help but he should have been carried by professionals in a stretcher. that is the reason why we have medics. to minimize any damage that might occur to the victim.

  6. The network is to blame. No safety at work.

  7. It was an accident wala gusto sa nangyari.

    1. Hindi tama yang maaccident ka while working. Duh dont need to make my case longer. A network tard will always be a network tard.

Kaya lalo ng dapat meron preventative measures on location shoots, meron dapat safety protocols in the event of an accident. Wala man control sa weather at iba pang sinasabing beyond their control, eh meron naman tayong mga pwedeng gawin para makaiwas to prevent an accident or to properly address an accident if it happens.

Meron bang action scenes? Fracture sa leeg, look at how he was carried off.

  9. I wholeheartedly agree with 12:52’s comment. But I think what people are forgetting in the dialogue that has now started regarding workplace safety is the Insurance Policy aspect. Each production or show should include within it’s budget an insurance policy to address incidents like this. Thus, there should also be an insurance company that is handling such policies. Siguro naman GMA has insurance policies to cover their shows/productions. We’ll see as this story develops. I hope the Garcia family do not settle for less than what is legally their rightful claim to be justly made whole (this is legalese, for those who do not understand, thx). #gv

  10. Accidents can be prevented. Before they start a shoot, they should accident proof the vicinity. With EG’s age, dapat naging doble careful sila. Hindi naman siya freak accident.

They are senior actors who are a big part of their industry. Much respect ang care are given.

Not that I’d like to add to the blaming, but I just can’t dismiss the thought na artists get their instructions sa mga Director, when the director ask EG to cross that street while doing the action scene, the least that they can do is to make sure is that it is clear.
I know everyone gets smarter on hindsight. Pero still, this could have been avoided if good precaution, planning and execution of the scene was done.

  14. There should be trained and licensed medical staff on standby in any event, may it be a location shoot, show or a concert. Accidents happen, even with risk assessments carried out regularly. But having medical people readily on site would ensure proper first aid treatment would be given to the injured person, hopefully minimizing the gravity of the condition and ensuring that the person is ready for any medical procedure he or she will need following the accident. Don’t let health and safety suffer because of cost cutting - if you pay for medics on standby this could also translate to less time in the hospital, less time to recover fully and less time off work. I feel for Eddie Garcia. His case may have been less critical if he had been seen to properly asap. I sincerely hope he recovers fully.

  16. Hay naku, ganyan sa pinas kasi. No health and safety, and no medic.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hmmm, here in Canada, you can’t have a loose and exposed cable like that at work. That’s against health and safety check. They have to be either fixed and covered by a sturdy tape or covers with a safety mat.
