Ricardo Tisci Replaces John Galliano as Dior's Creative Director

After the sudden departure of John Galliano from Dior, the label hired Ricardo Tisci as its new creative director. Tisci is an Italian fashion designer who graduated from London's Central Saint Martins Academy. In 2005, he was named as the creative director of Givenchy womenswear, haute couture. Three years later, the responsibility of designing the label's menswear and accessories line was entrusted to him as well.

This designer revived Givenchy with his Gothic touches and space-age minimalism. He designed the costumes for Madonna’s 2008 Sticky & Sweet tour and the red carpet gown of Cate Blachett during the Oscars. With his departure from the label, the question now is who will run Givenchy?

  1. Thank you for the super up to date info. I also had the feeling that the house of Dior might get Ricardo Tisci as its new creative director. He is the only one that i can think of who really can recreate and continue the look of Dior. I love my Givenchy Nightingale bags. Rihanna & Cate Blanchette wears Givenchy. They are also seen around LA and NY carrying their Givenchy bags. Other stylish stars such as Mary Kate Olsen, Ashley Tisdale, Reese Witherspoon, Sienna Miller, Heidi Klum, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Richie and Kim Catrall are often photographed carrying their Givenchys. I hope Givenchy will be able to find the perfect replacement for Ricardo Tisci.

  2. I was wondering the same thing. It's like someone pulled a rug under Givenchy's feet. Inagaw mo ang lahat sa akin ang dating. I hope someone just as good, or even better, will run Givenchy.

  3. I love ds guy the fact na maka-asian sha esp in getting models for his show. Take the case of Paolo Roldan - sha ang nagbigay ng break to hit him both in the runway and print ads. Sana, sa Dior he will give asian models to shine in print and runways.
