When the contract of Network Talent (NT) expired, her team was informed that the contract was up for review. Her team was surprised because they were confident that NT would not have to undergo scrutiny. After all, the network provided NT the opportunity to grow as an artist and was understanding of her lifestyle.

As days of waiting turned to week then months, NT’s camp became restless. Time was moving and work during the pandemic was hard. Moreover, NT could not commit to anything as the management gave her hope and she wanted to be ready when plans turn positive. The development was disappointing. The offer had a significant cut in her fees, which NT could not understand. Allegedly, that was the stand for contract renewal for the artists, as the pandemic was cited as the reason. Still, the network was her priority and NT waited.

During the waiting period, NT saw that the network was hiring new talents and some had higher fees. Those factors seemed hard to justify if the network could not give her what she deserved. The last straw then happened. When NT’s team followed up their negotiations, the management was firm on the pay cut. The lesser talent fee and the waiting period were enough for NT’s team to find her a new home.

Rumored Kept Woman (KW) of Public Servant (PS) had to go on break, as PS’s family discovered their secret. The wife of PS gave him an ultimatum and he folded up. To avoid additional tension, PS sponsored KW’s trip overseas.

During the overseas trip, KW’s friend introduced her to Celebrity Businesswoman (CB). CB’s decision to stay overseas was a painful one, as she left her career and friends. She risked everything. KW heard of CB but the two never had a chance to be together in a project. KW thought CB was still struggling overseas. The introductions were quick, and CB marveled at the way KW looked. Later, KW confided to her friend that she felt CB lacked class and trying hard to belong. Moreover, they should not invite CB to their gimmicks.

The friend shook her head and refuted KW’s impression. The friend said that CB married a wealthy man and lived in a huge home. One time, CB invited KW and the friend to her home. KW was shocked at the luxury item collections of CB. From that moment, KW went into fanmode. Tables were turned, as KW initiated invitations to CB.

KW brought CB to one of the best restaurants in their area. She was shocked as CB was known by the staff and owners. KW was amazed and realized how wrong her first impression was. Time passed and KW had the courage to visit CB on her own. She allegedly even asked for a luxury item and CB gave it to her without fuss.

CB had a chance to talk to their friend and she revealed that she noticed that KW was aloof during their first meeting. She felt KW looked at her from head to foot. She kept cool but promised herself to show KW who she really is overseas. She succeeded. These days, whenever KW invited her out, CB would excuse herself and say she’s busy with her business.

True friends in showbiz are hard to find. Thus, when celebrities realize a fellow celebrity can be a good friend, they nourish the relationship. Fans often tag such friendships as goals and express admiration for celebrity-friends. However, celebrities are prone to disagreements with their friends regardless of the length of friendship when sensitive issues are touched.

The friendship of Vocal Friend 1 (VF1) and Vocal Friend 2 (VF2) was tested when VF2 was offended by VF1’s pronouncements. When they had a chance to go online to ask how they were doing, VF2 confronted VF1 and unleashed harsh words. The repercussions of VF1’s pronouncement greatly affected the personal and professional aspects of VF2. VF2’s partner reminded her that someone that VF1 was not fond of was expecting their support. That reminder added to the combative mood of VF2.

Taking the higher road, VF1 apologized to VF2, but the latter was so hot under the collar. VF2 continued her tirade and told VF1 to backtrack on her pronouncement. However, VF1 was still saying her amends when VF2 logged out. Then, VF2 confided to a close friend that she will not speak to VF1 for now. She will only talk to VF1 if the pronouncement will be taken back, which might not happen soon or at all.

Talent managers are very keen on establishing the image of their prized talents. At the onset, a talent’s background story has to be set in place so as to start generating sympathy and interest from fans. Once the talent captures a market, making him/her famous becomes an easy task. As soon as the team has decided on the talent’s image, his/her action off cam has to be in accordance. For example, a talent who is partnered with another onscreen should not be seen with someone else.

The set guidelines can greatly affect the movement and personal relationships of a talent. A talent cannot just be seen anywhere and with anyone who could turn-off followers. Such is the price of fame. Not following the advice of management can negatively affect the talent’s career.

Sometime ago, Brave Beauty (BB) seemed to have thrown caution to the wind when she was spotted in the company of Known Personality (KP). BB was once controversial, but her career is taking direction as the plans of her team are rolling. KP is older and known for his achievements. He also has his showbiz connection and supportive friends. Thus, when a photo of BB and KP circulated, questions were raised as to why BB seems to be in the good graces of KP. Is BB the latest one keeping KP happy these days? Is BB unaware of the possible effects on her image if she were openly linked with KP? Only showbiz insiders can assume the answers and keep quiet.

During a lull in their work, Worried Talent (WT) asked Uplifting Adviser (UA) on her thoughts on the ongoing movement of talents from one network to another. UA asked why WT was concerned, as her status seems fine with the management. WT responded that her worry came from the newly hired talents. With their strength in acting, WT pondered if she’d ever be considered for a series. WT revealed she has not heard anything about an acting project.

UA replied that given the circumstances, she should not be choosy with her network assignments. WT should consider herself lucky as she has work, unlike many of her contemporaries. The prevailing mood was survival of the talented. Hence, UA encouraged WT to focus on the skills needed for her job. If she’s given hosting or dancing assignments, then she ought to excel.

WT shared that her first love is acting and with no series in sight, she feels empty and sad. UA then said that acting jobs are given to the highly talented actors. Further, UA stressed WT did not belong to the ranks of award-winning and critically acclaimed actors. UA did not realize that she said a tactless statement to WT. Nonetheless, UA reminded WT to be thankful and to perform her best in her current role. If she falters, she might be replaced.
