These days, unless a talent has a contract with a production, finding work in the industry can be difficult. Several talents are lucky to be considered by production teams as part of a steady supporting cast. That means they have the advantage of being given work or priority compared to a freelance artist. Keeping professional ties with a network is important as well. Unfortunately, many talents take for granted the gains of their profession.

Take the case of a Competent Actor (CA). Although CA might not have a leading man’s profile, his roles are often marked and remembered because his acting is impressive. A good support makes the lead look better and CA brings that factor as well. The lead’s skills are challenged when CA is in the scene. CA is thus a prized addition to any project. Yet, he seems to be missing in action lately. The rumor mill has an answer.

According to the grapevine, CA got involved with a Production Staff (PS). While that might seem to be in his favor, their engagement allegedly brought forth life. The news should bring joy, but CA turned his back and left PS. As news spread fast, coworkers of PS sympathized with her. Consequently, CA can no longer seek work from the management of PS unless the matter is cleared, and he gains back a favorable standing.

Among her contemporaries, Pretty Actress (PA) has not settled down nor is currently known to be in a relationship. During her young days, PA was always linked to someone, but when her career started to rise, her relationships took a backseat. Once in a while, PA would pose photos with her significant other to delight her fans. Then, a sad post would come and her fans realize her heart has been broken again.

Like a real trooper, PA bounces back and her social media posts show her happy and indulging in various interests. Her single, unattached status seems not to bother her.

However, these days, PA has kept a low profile and her love life remains a mystery. The grapevine is not as secretive. Allegedly, PA has a New Man (NM). PA and NM share similar passions, but the main difference in their lives is that PA is single, while NM has a lovely wife.

The relationship is kept interesting as the two manage to communicate via social media with innocent posts and comments. Nonetheless, rumors are whispered that something is happening between the two.

Often, when a company implements changes, employees feel resentment or excitement. In the case of Company Employee (CE), a company strategy was met with cynicism. CE expressed doubt on the plan as it meant bringing in new people, who could touch on her turf. CE showed animosity towards the idea and the bosses noticed her behavior.

CE has been with the company for many years and loyalty was her ace. The bosses recognized her contributions and respected her views. However, they warned her that changes are inevitable and time will come when CE will have to work with the new hires.

The attitude of CE puzzled the bosses and An Executive (AE) decided to investigate. Lower managers were then asked about possible leads. Finally, AE found an answer. Allegedly, CE has established a practice, which many knew about but kept quiet, as they benefitted as well. CE would tease major players for goodwill from their high compensation. After all, CE was part of the reason why those players were hired. Hence, company changes might bring to light this practice with unwritten rules. CE and others who follow the same might be in trouble.

When Cordial Talent (CT) met with Wealthy Personality (WP), his presence was most welcomed. WP was significant in the career of CT, as she provided the means to increase his media presence and popularity. CT knew he had to show support to WP whenever he could as well.

WP asked CT what was keeping him busy. CT said he was into online activities, like most people his age. He was between jobs and waiting for his turn at a new project. The competitive environment these days has limited opportunities of talents. WP then asked CT to come over to her home so he can teach her his online techniques. WP said she’ll compensate CT for the effort. After fulfilling covid-19 protocols, CT had access to WP’s home and the teaching sessions began. Sometimes, CT would assist in WP’s workout.

One time, WP’s calls were unanswered and she wondered what happened to CT. CT said that he was in a relative’s place, where he was spending online time. Soon after, WP surprised CT with significant gifts that made him happy, overwhelmed, and stay at home.

Award Winner (AW) thought she had made the best decision in her life when she chose to settle down with Hunk Boyfriend (HB). After all, HB has a solid career and projects the ideal as a family man. Besides, HB has not been involved in any cheating issue throughout his career. AW was happy with HB and her friends were glad for her as well.

Not everything turned out to be a fairy tale. AW started to discover HB’s dark side. Sometime ago, AW confided in Seasoned Actress (SA) about how HB has an overwhelming appetite for intimacy. Whenever they were home, HB always wanted to spend time in bed with her. Even during her early months of pregnancy, HB wanted her so much. HB said that her tummy was still small anyway.

When AW could not accommodate HB’s desires, he watched porn even if she was around. AW felt she was deliberately being offended. AW tried, but failed, to convince HB to seek a specialist for his addiction. HB went to the defensive and refused.

SA advised AW to separate if HB is forcing her to do things his way when it comes to her body. AW said that she was just waiting for the right time. That time came when HB had a locked-in project. AW said she wanted separation but HB refused and threatened her. AW replied that she will sue him, as she has evidence of how he allegedly forced her. HB backed down, but AW already made up her mind.

Repost: Heaven Peralejo Takes Over Role Originally for Barbie Imperial

Heaven Peralejo has been cast in the lead role of the upcoming romantic comedy series “Pasabuy,” replacing previously announced actress Barbie Imperial.

Peralejo will star opposite fellow “Pinoy Big Brother” graduate Gino Roque in the Xian Lim-helmed series, which started its 10-day quarantined filming in Batangas this week.

Imperial was “released from the show due to personal issues,” producer WeTV announced. “Barbie had already taken part in pre-production activities -- including announcements on social media, and the initial script-reading with Gino, Xian and the rest of the cast -- when the change was made.”

Star Magic, the talent agency of both Peralejo and Imperial, declined a request for comment.

Peralejo and Imperial were only recently co-stars in the ABS-CBN afternoon drama “Bagong Umaga,” which concluded in April.

The 10-part “Pasabuy,” which was also written by Lim, centers on the blooming romance between Anna (Peralejo), a young executive, and John (Roque), an artist, who meet through a “pasabuy” community chatroom during the pandemic.

Bonding over quarantine lifestyle trends and finding comfort in each other, Anna and John must then navigate sustaining their relationship beyond the lockdown.

Joining Peralejo and Roque in the cast are Ella Cayabyab, MJ Cayabyab, Ralph Malibunas, and Gail Banawis, Kim Perez, and TikTok star Nana Silayro, with a special appearance from rock band I Belong To The Zoo.

“Pasabuy’s” release date has yet to be announced.
