Acting Towards Another Budding Controversy
As child stars grow up, their fervent wish is to transition towards teen roles and eventually, into mature performers. Only a handful of the older stars successfully traversed this path. Some might not have retained the cute looks of their childhood and thus, are relegated to supporting roles. Others leave showbiz and find other meaningful careers. Others succumb to peer pressure, indulge in vices, and use the pressure they feel from their fame to justify their bad habits. Without proper guidance, these kid actors will be misguided and think that their actions behind the cameras are acceptable.
Sadly, as majority of child performers opt to leave formal schooling, some lose certain values or assume that just because something feels good or they were requested to do, such action is fine. With no strict parental monitoring, these kids will go astray and their innocence will not last beyond puberty.
According to the grapevine, Pretty Talent (PT) is indulging in another risky behavior and those who have found out are afraid of what might be in the mind of PT. Starting her career quite early, PT stood out from her peers because she had acting talent, appeal, and looks that dominate most of the famous celebrities the network has transformed into big names. With some appearances in various teleseryes and movies, PT has gained a number of followers in her various social media accounts. The network seems to be just waiting for her to grow up before she could be lined up among their best talents.
Unfortunately, a rumor is going around that PT is behaving questionably. PT is allegedly sending photos of herself clad in her underwear to her male peers. As she is still obviously a minor and is considered a role model by some fans of her age bracket, her exerting effort to send such photos has to be checked. Before she could really be launched, these photos might be used against her and thus, damage the wholesome image the network has been trying so hard to build for her career.
Someone has to act and investigate on this matter. Her age is marked with complications, such as search for self-worth, identity, and peer acceptance. She could just be sending out those photos so her male peers will not hate her, or she could just be begging for attention. Regardless of her reason, a parent or a guardian should start checking her behavior, and remind her that behaving questionably at her age might result in her career cut short by the network. Nothing in showbiz is permanent, and networks could just drop any talent they want regardless of the reason. PT, perhaps, should not give her network such reason.
‘The mind cannot support moral chaos for long. Men are under as strong a compulsion to invent an ethical setting for their behavior as spiders are to weave themselves webs.’ - John Dos Passos

A Shrewd Businesswoman Indeed
The arrival of a Foreign Visitor (FV) sometime ago caused a quiet but intriguing scene behind the event. When FV came over, Celebrity Businesswoman (CB) was elated because they once shared a very fruitful partnership. Naturally, FV contacted CB and requested for the usual – a woman to keep him company. Assuming she knew his taste, CB sent his Favorite Talent (FT) of long ago.
FT came over and presented herself to FV, just like old times. However, when FV saw FT, he was very disappointed. FV wanted someone experienced, but youthful. FV did not want to have someone from his past who has already aged despite her young looks. Being generous, FV gave money to FT and sent her away.
Thus, FV called CB again and told her he did not want FT, as she was so like yesterday. FV wanted fresh looks and not someone who has had a depth of experiences and a number of men. Thus, to save face, CB had to look into the roster of talents who fit the criteria. Finally, she identified two friends, who are both articulate and smart. In case FV might want decent conversation afterward, CB was sure that Versatile Talent (VT) and Intelligent Celebrity (IC) would impress FV.
Given that VT and IC are not just ordinary talents, as they are accomplished personalities in their networks, CB quoted a hefty price. FV agreed as he could afford it, as the exchange rate was not that high anyway.
All went well. VT and IC were happy with their fee, and having been introduced to FV, they have now established a connection with the man. Connections with FV are very significant, as some local actresses could attest to. FV is very generous and respected in the circles.
Guess who was happiest? CB, of course. What VT and IC did not know is that the fee they received from CB was just half of the money given by FV. Having been in the business for so many years, there is no question that CB is such a shrewd dealer. A few phone calls here and there, and she gets an amount most people could only dream about.
“There’s a difference between a clever person and a smart one. Smart people make their own ways, and clever people use their minds to usurp opportunities to walk on the paths made by others.” -― Waheed Ibne Musa

'My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More!' Starring Vic, Ai-Ai and AlDub: Guaranteed to Break Records at the 2015 MMFF
What happens when the country’s comedy giants - the undisputed Philippine box-office king of comedy Vic Sotto and box-office queen Ai-Ai delas Alas, join forces with the newest record-breaking, phenomenal loveteam Aldub in one groundbreaking movie during the holiday season?
No doubt, “My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More!,” starring Vic Sotto, Ai-Ai Delas Alas and the phenomenal loveteam Aldub of Alden Richards and Maine “Yayadub” Mendoza, is going to make a killing at the box-office and set higher heights in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) History.
Expect waves of high-spirited excitement, heartwarming romance, wholesome fun, and excellent Filipino values, to take the holiday season’s finest film festival by storm. Vic and Ai-Ai spearhead the fun topsy-turvy of characters as they are featured side by side Alden and Maine in the movie written by Jose Javier Reyes and Bibeth Orteza and directed by Jose Javier Reyes.
This early, festival observers are already predicting a surefire box-office reign for “My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More!” which is jointly-offered by OctoArts Films, M-Zet Television Productions, Inc., APT Entertainment, GMA Films and Meda Production. While the country is being swept away by the record-breaking loveteam of Alden Richards and Maine “Yayadub” Mendoza, MMFF is poised to be another territory for conquest by the Aldub phenomenon. This is the duo’s most exciting film debut.
“My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More!” also features Joey de Leon, the “Eat Bulaga” lolas Paolo Ballesteros, Jose Manalo, and Wally Bayola, and Ryzza Mae Dizon, in special appearances.
Vic Sotto plays the role of Vito who finds himself at odds and in a bitter professional rivalry with Cora, played by Ai-Ai. The two are both in the business of mounting special events and productions and have both made a successful name in the same profession. The conflict happens when their respective wards – Anna (played by Maine) daughter of Vito, gets romantically entangled with Cora’s beloved nephew Dondi (played by Alden). As expected, the “parents” actively reject the budding romantic involvement between the star-crossed lovers and willingly struck an unexpected truce to prevent this romance from happening.
The plot thickens when the unexpected alliance of the Vito and Cora starts blooming into something else. Now, it’s the turn of the youngsters to feel disconcerted with the idea of having their folks enter into a different relationship zone. Now it was the turn of Dondi and Anna to react to the situation. They did not like the idea of his auntie and her father falling in love with each other. Now it was the younger generation vehemently reacting to this new romance.
So where will all this end? What are the possible solutions and resolutions to bring closure and new beginnings to these young, exciting lovers? Catch the excitement, the love, the fun and romance when “My Bebe Love: Kilig Pa More!” starts showing on Christmas Day at the MMFF.
