Must Keep All Gifts as Our Belongings

Similar to the five languages of love of Gary Chapman, fans of celebrities show their adoration to their idols in familiar ways. First, fans spend quality time with their idols by attending the shows, concerts, and fans day of the celebrities. Second, fans are not passive and they will quickly scream, not just say, words of affirmation, such as “I love you, Idol!” or leave encouraging messages in the social media accounts of their idols. Third, fans can also be tapped to do acts of service under the leadership of the celebrity. Some fans join their idols in visiting orphanages or run in marathons for their idols. Some even pull resources to purchase products, such as CDs, food, posters, etc., that matter for their idols. Fourth, some fans need to pinch, kiss, pull the hair, etc. to show their excitement. Hence, physical touch is one way to show their love. Sometimes, fans can be too wild, and leave pinch bruises on the body of their idols. Finally, the most common language of love is giving gifts.
For Popular Celebrity (PC), her fans exhibit the five languages of love to show that she is truly appreciated. While the four are intangible, the fifth, giving of gifts, is the most concrete way for fans to show that they really care. Whenever PC has shows, expect her followers to come up with material outpouring. Some are expensive, others are handcrafted, but these gifts are given wholeheartedly. As fans come from all levels of society, some of them save up just to buy gifts for PC. In other words, every given gift corresponds to the effort of the giving fan.
As PC has been in the business for some time, her fans have been consistently generous, and PC’s camp has developed a system to make sure all gifts are accounted for. When a gift is given, a staff looks into the package and determines under which category it belongs. Gifts usually range from the most common and cheap, such as stuffed toys, to the pricey or branded. When consumables are given, the staff looks into the expiration date and makes sure every item is of quality. While most gifts end up in the stockroom, gifts that are expensive and given by important persons are used by PC. The handlers of PC want to make sure that the giver sees that PC values such gifts.
One time, PC’s relatives dropped by and saw the gifts in the stockroom. They asked if they could have some, such as consumables (shampoos, lotions, etc.). Hoping for a positive response, the close kin (CK) of PC turned down their request. Then, CK said that the relatives should just attend the garage sale of the gifts in their province. The relatives were shocked, but not surprised, at the selfish attitude of CK. Instead of helping their relatives in a simple way, CK turned them away. Such attitude of CK is so much different from the image projected by PC. PC is packaged as someone sweet, talented, and she often portrays the underdog who triumphs by the end of the movie or teleserye. Unfortunately, generosity towards relations seems not be part of their consideration. Instead of sowing the language of love, people around PC are showing otherwise.

Checking on His Devious Motive

Whenever relationship issues arise, friends reach out to find that shoulder to cry on or vent their frustration in social media. Unfortunately, showbiz personalities often lament the lack of true friends and worse, they cannot just vent on social media as they might risk tarnishing their image with misinterpretation of their followers. Thus, close friends of celebrities are often the ones they have spent most time with in projects and out of town shows. Other celebrities are lucky, as they get to work with their best buddies.
Versatile Talent (VT) and Misunderstood Actor (MA) have been friends for the longest time as they have been working in the same network since they started their careers. Although their network has developed similar but different images for them, both will never compete in roles as they cater to different types of fans. However, seeing VT and MA together in shows is always a welcome treat for the audience.
During one of these out of town shows, VT found MA distraught and bothered with an issue that has been troubling the latter. Being a friend, VT offered to listen to MA, who was hesitant to join the show as this issue has been left to public speculations and he wanted to resolve it as soon as possible. However, when it comes to work, MA can be professional once he chooses to be one. This time, he opted to be professional despite the heaviness in his chest.
Over a round of drinks, MA poured his heart out. With the influence of alcohol, MA became emotional and VT listened sympathetically. One round became two and three, and soon, MA was talking about how he was feeling the pressure of having to get married even though he was not yet ready. VT and MA continued drinking. Finally, one of their non-showbiz companions told them to go back to their rooms as people might start to recognize them.
Once VT and MA were in their room, VT ordered more drinks as he knew MA still wanted to drink. Unfortunately, MA was already a bit noisy as he was still repeating his sad stories and frustrations over how his relationship was moving. After a few minutes, the staff noticed the silence and thought that VT and MA were finally asleep.
Just to assure that both VT and MA were still in the room and had not returned to the bar, one of them checked the room. The designated person (TP) slowly opened the door, as he did not want to startle the two in case they were in the room. With a slight opening, TP got the shock of his life. VT was all over MA and he was kissing the lips of the obviously drunk and passed out MA. Then in a blink, VT had already moved down on MA and giving him the job. MA was still and unresponsive. TP hurriedly left and realized that what he saw could never be unseen.
The next day, VT and MA were up early and both were there usual jolly selves, smiling, chilling, and behaving as though they did not have a night of revelry. The question of MA knowing what VT had done to him that night would never be answered.
