Celebrity Gets Pulled Down by Gravity

Controversial Celebrity (CC) was spending her evening in one of the exclusive boxes of a concert venue with her socialite friends. The venue was abuzz because of the ongoing concert of an international performer. Of course, that concert was THE event of the week, and other celebrities were spotted jamming with the music. While CC was mingling with her crowd in the exclusive room, she got an invitation from some friends to the patron area to get a better view of the concert.

In her snotty accent, she said, loud enough to be heard by everyone, “I’ll go down and mingle with the humans later!” So, everyone gave her a look and wondered what she meant. Since she always considered herself a notch above the masses, this attitude was nothing new.

So, CC, in her white sequined outfit made her way in her usual regal way. Even without wanting to, people cannot avoid glancing at her. CC, despite her quirks, is still an attraction. Everyone simply has to look at her. This evening was no different. People were looking at CC and they were staring at her dress. With her head raised, CC walked towards the area and paraded her outfit. Being looked at was usual for CC.

Then, CC got flabbergasted with what she saw. The push girls and promodizers for the sponsors were wearing white outfits with sequins. In short, CC seemed like the queen ant joining her ant workers. No wonder she had more stares as she was walking. Some people who overheard her earlier statement could not help but snicker at seeing CC outshone by the ordinary saleswomen. At least no one gave CC a basket of products to give away to the concert viewers. Well, the higher one thinks she is, the harder will be her fall. We’re all humans, after all. CC just thinks otherwise.

Goodbye Endorsers: Your Demands are Too Atrocious

Fame, money, and box office reputation are often some of the elements that turn simple and nice girls into proud, demanding, and unreasonable divas. Take the case of Endorser 1 (E1) and Endorser 2 (E2). E1 and E2 are both in showbiz. While E1 started ahead and claimed her share in showbiz early in her career, E2 did not allow their relationship to hinder whatever break she was going to have. Soon, a channel decided to invest in E2, while E1 continued to cling on her spot.

When they were both starting out and obviously, only had a handful of followers, a fashion brand took risks and made them endorsers. Although the brand is not as media savvy as other named brands, its clothes which are in malls are of good quality, have loyal buyers. For years, E1 and E2 were the image models of the brand. As time passed, E2 made her name and got out of E1’s shadow. She got her shot at fame by showing-off her all-around ability in her network. And yes, E2 also showed attitude problems.

Then, E1 and E2 were dropped as the image models of the brand. A younger female models replaced them. When asked why E1 and E2 were dropped, insiders kept mum but a curious source found out the reason.

Allegedly, as the years passed, E1 and E2 were becoming more difficult to work with. Their manager who had been with them since the start began to make unreasonable demands from the owners of the brand. For example, in a photoshoot, the owners prepared everything, from accessories, clothes, make-up artist, to the photographers, all the stuff. Everything was ironed out until the manager kept postponing the shoot. Turned out, the manager and E1 wanted a more expensive make-up artist and stylist to be hired. In another incident, when the photos came out and the manager did not like them, the owners had to schedule a reshoot. To show how much importance they gave to the brand, the freebies were sold in their garage sale. For years, the owners suffered while working with the manager, E1, and E2. Finally, the owners had enough and did not renew their contracts anymore.

 For now, the manager, E1, and E2 are on the lookout for possible endorsements. Have they learned their lesson, or will they continue to command astronomical fees and demands? The lack of endorsements can affect the visibility of any talent. Without enough visibility, talents can be forgotten. Soon, the fame and the box-office reputation will fade, and money will not be as much. What can sustain all these? Humility and a positive attitude towards work.

As they say, fame can be toxic, it can turn young upstarts into monsters in no time.

Lacking Respect and Professionalism

This story is about a fashion stylist. But first, let us define what a fashion stylist is. From Wiki, it says:

"A Fashion Stylist is the job title of someone who selects the clothing for published editorial features, print or television advertising campaigns, music videos, concert performances, and any public appearances made by celebrities, models or other public figures. Stylists are often part of a creative team assembled by the client, collaborating with the fashion designer, photographer/director, hair stylist and makeup artist to put together a particular look or theme for the specific project."

That plus a handsome fee make fashion styling such a cool and glamorous job, isn't it? Now, let us go back to our story.

This well-connected fashion stylist FS asked a top designer TD to send some clothes to her to be used by a popular endorser PE for a shoot in one of her big endorsements. FS told TD that if PE would like some pieces she would definitely buy them. Days after, the clothes were returned to him and FS said that not one were worn by PE. That was fine with TD and no questions were asked. But few weeks after that, TD was shocked to see a new billboard of PE wearing the exact dress he sent them for the shoot. What angered him more was that the dress was maliciously photoshopped to alter its original color. But any designer will always recognize his work even if it is just the collar or the sleeves that are shown. TD immediately confronted FS for deceiving him and only after he ranted was he paid for his clothes.

Who is the mystery guy posing so closely with comedian actress (CA)? Has CA finally moved on from her previous relationship? CA deserves to be happy after there was so much expectation from the relationship with her former boyfriend (FB). Then, within a few months, their relationship just ended. No one really knows why they called it quits. One camp said the family of FB did not like her. Another said FB was too demanding. Still, another camp said FB was a brat.

As to any confirmation or denial, we'll wait. (I'm placing my bet on the denial, by the way.)

Actor Host AH's latest tv commercial (tvc) shoot was "hell" --- from the words of the production team and the agency that handled it. He was such a pain that shoot was delayed many times and costs had built up as a result. AH refused to say some lines - key lines at that. Many were surprised for this sudden behavior. They asked for the script beforehand, hence, AH was supposed to have reviewed it already after it was forwarded to them. So why did he voice out his many objections when he was already at the shoot? People surmised that it was a smart, calculated move from his end so that he would clinch the project first, then complain later. 

During the shoot, he had a lot of resistance to the agency's and director's ideas. There were so many things AH didn't want to do. On top of that, he refused to discuss his concerns with the production team, opting instead to send his stylist and make-up artist to negotiate for him. He also came with a HUGE entourage who consumed and finished off the food that were not meant for them. After a take, AH would already rush to his dressing room even if the director had not released him yet. Everything was so bad that the budget's shortfall was already piling up.

Until how long will AH test and stretch people's patience who work with him? Had fame and fortune totally consumed him? Doesn't he know that  all these will boomerang on him in the future? AH is smart and old enough to know the answers.

The Jekyll Personality of the Matinee Idol

Dining in a restaurant were some fans of matinee idol (MI). By coincidence, MI was seated with his non-showbiz friends in the next table. One of his female fans took a couple of photos of MI. MI just smiled, so the female fan took it that it was okay to take his photo. Then MI covered his face to signal indirectly for the female fan to stop taking photos. After a while, one of the people in MI’s group approached the table of the female fan, and politely asked them to stop taking photos of MI. To their surprise, MI followed as well.

MI approached the female fan and asked if she wanted a picture with him Of course, the female fan became excited.The female fan agreed and MI was even fixing his collar to prepare for their picture. Then, when it was time to press the shutter button, MI moved away and yelled at the female fan, “You want a picture with me? GO F**** YOURSELF!”

The female fan was so shocked. When the men from her table wanted to approach MI, one of them had the better sense to stop any possible melee from happening. He told them to just let it pass and that they were not physically assaulted anyway. MI had obviously one drink too many again.

The female fan, then thought of a nice way to get back at MI. After they got their bill and was on their way out of the restaurant, she approached MI at his table, and told him, in front of his friends, to f*** himself, too.

After that disappointing incident, the fans became so dejected. MI showed yet his Jekyll side again, a far cry from his screen image. Of course, at this point in his career, such incidents, and even other stories about his alleged other problem, will be swept under the rug.

An Afternoon Delight

Actress host AH is yet again in a quandary. The very secured AH resents the over-zealousness of her loved ones LO and had begun to assert her independence. Usually in the afternoon, during rehearsal breaks, AH would find a way to sweet-talk her handler/road manager RM to allow her to go somewhere to meet up with actor crush AC. AH had been so smitten with AC that she had dared to defy her loved ones to follow her heart's desire. Meeting up with AC had been going on regularly and was posing a big problem for RM since they knew that sooner than later, AH's feisty relative would find out and both of them would be in trouble.

But as they say, no secret can be kept for long. And soon enough, LO got wind of AH's and AC's secret meetings. One day, LO decided to do a surprise visit in AH's rehearsal and found out that she wasn't there. Enraged, she immediately confronted RM about AH whereabouts. Already cornered after a heated tonque-lashing from LO, RM was forced to squeal in on AH's whereabouts.

LO wasted no time, both she and RM hurriedly went to AC's condo. When LO saw the very scared AH, she was so mad, pulled her and bodily dragged poor AH on the floor till they got to their vehicle. Everyone was so stunned and speechless.

Sounds like a scene from a movie, right? But that's just how it is to be in the circle of the very control-freak LO. There are just two things to endear anyone to her: be prepared to behave and enslave.

On the other hand, is AC that irresistible for AH to be worth all the embarrassment and pain?

The Tale of the Fake Hermes Bag

Once upon a time, a buyer bought this Hermes Birkin from a trusted store that sells second hand bags.  After  using the bag for quite some time, she wanted to send the bag to Hermes Paris for maintenance.  So, she brought the bag to Hermes Greenbelt which accepted it. As a local franchisee, Hermes Greenbelt was in charged of forwarding it to Hermes Paris. 

After a few months, this shocking letter came with the bag:

The bag is a counterfeit and it escaped the eyes of the people in Hermes Greenbelt.  I spoke to Dennis Robles, who is a trusted Hermes reseller about this and according to him, he knew immediately that it was a fake when he inspected the bag because of the stitching. 

May this be a big reminder to would-be buyers to be more vigilant in their purchases of pricey branded items. Always trust your intuition. When in doubt, it will not hurt to ask opinions from not just one, but at least two experts.

Defiant Daughter

How far will one go for love? Many years ago, a sexy actress left the peak of her career to be with her boyfriend who happened to be an heir to the family fortune. Since the sexy actress was not to the liking of his family, the boyfriend was disowned and disinherited. His family owned one of the big businesses in the food industry. The couple left for abroad and lived a normal life. Years later, the family softened up and the boyfriend, now husband, was taken back into the fold. It did help that their first-born happened to be male, too.

There's a similar story now circulating in business and media. The recent buzz is that the unica hija (UH) of one of the country’s billionaire families had been disinherited allegedly because she chose to love the son (TS) of one of most controversial government figures. The father of TS is embroiled in several lawsuits that questioned funds disbursements at the office he used to head.

Earlier this year, UH got introduced to the public when she ventured into popular media where she was warmly welcomed. Everyone assumed that this move was a prelude to her being groomed to take over the political career of her parents. Months passed, an online newspaper column named her as having left the family nest to move in with boyfriend TS. He is quite good looking, but his looks, political platform and connections were not enough to win a post in the previous election versus a well-entrenched political family.

In a very recent political exercise, where family members were expected to be with the candidates, UH was conspicuously absent. Considering that she is the only daughter, people were asking why she wasn't with her parents, especially since this was a milestone for her mother?

Are all the rumors of UH going against her parents, moving out of the family mansion, choosing to love someone the parents do not approve of, and disinheritance all true? Is it true that UH and TS already  got married in very simple rites? Pretty soon, the media will start hounding her parents who are celebrity figures in their own right.

We hope this story has a happy ending much like the happiness the sexy actress and her husband now have.
