When the CNN anchors/ commentators mentioned about the financial problems of the Vatican and that they're biggest donors are mostly from the USA, I started thinking if they want/need an american pope. Plus, their current president is TRUMP and when he reposted that AI photo of him dressed as Pope... Yup!
I even saw a lot of western people threatening to leave the church if Cardinal Tagle becomes the next Pope...
Cardinal Tagle had an issue about Caritas Internationalis which was assigned to him by Pope Francis. He was not involved but he was one of the people let go. That ruined his chances.
Mahina na ang catholicism sa western countries. I have been living here in Canada for 20 years at halos mga kasabayan kong nagsisimba ay mga matatanda nang puti or mga immigrants din like me (pinoy, indian, african, etc). Wala halos puti na kaedaran ko at wala ring teenagers masyado.

Statistically, improbable na siya. Pope Leo is turning 70 this year and in the pink of health. Assuming he lives until his late 80s (just like Pope Francis), he’ll likely be serving the papacy for at least 15 years. By then, Cardinal Tagle will be above 80 years old already. He won’t be part of the Conclave anymore. So he will not be an eligible candidate. I had the same wish as yours. Incidentally, it’s not the will of the Holy Spirit. We can just hope that another Filipino clergy rises to the ranks of Cardinal Tagle. From the younger generation, that is.

Unang una, nilinaw ni Cardinal Tagle na ang Papacy ay isang mabigat na trabaho - wala talagang Cardinal ang nag aambisyon ng Papacy kasi wala ng balikan yon sa diocese nila at pamilya nila. Catholicism is the religion of white men tapos pinilit nila sa atin nuon. Bumalik na lang tayo sa original "religion" nating mga pinoy before Catholicism and Muslim arrived. HOnestly, hindi naman talaga maituturing na religion yun per se, it's more of a lifestyle which is respecting, living one with nature which is what we really need kasi parami na ng parami ang mga pinoy na walang paki sa paligid nila and walang pagpapahalaga sa mother earth and even animals.
It does not work that way. You probably were not aware of the process of selecting the Pope. Google ka teh, in case namiss mo yung sangkatutak na news features about the Conclave the past 3 weeks. It’s always great to be informed, so we don’t end up making baseless speculations.
