Only When Needed

Celebrities sometimes lead viewers to believe they are who they play in teleseryes or movies. Hence, good-doer role players are expected to behave such once cameras are turned off. In the same way, villains, even if they are good-hearted in real life, are met with disdain by fans.

Nonetheless, many artists have transcended the dichotomy. Fans are often shocked when they meet popular onscreen villains and realize they are not the bad persons they portrayed. Expectations are high when fans have the chance to see the protagonists live. They expect their idols to be nice in person.

When Young Versatile actress (YV) was discovered, her management gave her goody-girl roles. Her amiable looks and talent fit the roles. Besides, she had great acting skills and the management had talent who could be kept. As time passed, YV gained popularity and despite having a few disobedient incidents, she was forgiven by fans and accepted again.

One time, YV was in a city in the south for a project. YV was co-starring with young Character Actor (CA). During lull time, fans saw YV and made her welcome to their location by waving. Contrary to their expectations, YV moved on as though she did not see and hear anyone. The fans realized they were snubbed. CA, meanwhile, was warm and acknowledged the presence of fans. Sadly, some commented that YV, like other celebrities, only become friendly when they are promoting their projects. Thus, they know what to expect on the day YV returns to promote that project.
