Sincere condolences. I lost a brother on a mountain due to altitude sickness. We are comforted in knowing that he did make it to the summit and he died doing what he loved. May your cousin's soul rest in peace 🙏
Altitude sickness is real. My husband experienced it while on top the highest mountain in Big Island in Hawaii. I was so scared kasi di ako marunong magdrive. Pakonti konti nakapagdrive sya pabalik. I felt so relieve ng makarating kami sa ranger station.
Wala namang purpose ang pagakyat nila diyan. What have they gained?
"Walang purpose". How sure are you na walang purpose yung pag akyat ng mga tao doon? "What have they gained?" Parang sure na sure ka sa mga statements mo and you know everything. Better if you just mind your own business.
Hindi porke di niyo maintindihan or wala kayong alam about mountaineering or hiking eh iinvalodate niyo na ang interests ng mga nahihilig dito. It's their lives, let them be. They passed doing what they love.
I think it’s more like a passion and a goal as a hiker Kung anu man tawag sa kanila. if mahilig ka talaga umakyat ng bundok. Kahit anu pilit na wag mo na ituloy , itutuloy parin nila. May mga ganito tao. Sila lang makakapag sabi if Ayaw na nila.
Etong mga nag cocomment na to? Mga halatang walang magandang purpose sa buhay. lol looks like you never lifted a thing in your entire life.
I recently ran a marathon and how much happiness it brought me after, ano pa kaya yung umakyat ng mt Everest. The more you challenge yourself the more happiness you have within.
Hobby ng mga mapera magclimb diyan. We know someone at it ranges from Half Million Piso pataas ang gastos. So yeah an expensive hobby and " purpose" kuno.
If you don’t hike or not a hiker at all you will never know the happiness we feel every time we are on the mountain top or seeing beautiful lakes. So please don’t say “no purpose”. Some will say naghahanap lang ng sakit ng katawan or pagod but we are happy doing what we do rather be at home doing nothing or makipag-chismisan
Ive been to many mountains and seas pero di kasama sa list ko yang Mt. Everest. Yung ibang bangkay dyan di na nakuha. Worst is hindi na natagpuan.
Ang sad naman neto... pero ito na naman ang diskusyon ng follow your passion versus be practical.
Pag single kayo at walang responsibilidad, gow! Be happy! Pag pamilyado, pwede bang isipin nyo muna yung mga anak nyong bata pa na umaasa sa inyo bago kayo mag-extreme sports?! That, or have a healthy insurance coverage for your family so that they can move on comfortably in case you die. It's not all about your happiness!
‘Rather be at home doing nothing or makipag-chismisan’ - and yet you’re here 2:28. I believed everything you said about mountaineers, but not about yourself. Real mountaineers wouldn’t waste their time in a chismis site para lang makipagsagutan sa mga anonymous na chismosa. Hehe
11:34 have you ever heard of weekend warriors or vacation warriors ? that is the only time we bag our peaks otherwise alipin kami ng trabaho para may pang vacation and more and here on FP relaxing after a long work , gamitin ang isip hindi 365 days ang pag akyat ng bundok unless we have sponsorship — not 2:28
If ang location is mahirap na puntahan and dangerous na for those who will retrieve the body.
Like saang base camp, altitude, strong winds, etc. since kelangan din i-consider yung safety ng mag rerescue.
Weather conditions have to be right, location of the body, not in the deep trench etc. before you can retrieve the body. You have to pay thousands of dollars for multiple Sherpas to carry the body back to the base camp so the chopper can fly the body back to civilization. So that is another $$$$. When none of those are attainable, then they just leave the body where they died.
If you are going to google it, more than 200 bodies ang naiwan na lang doon at napepreserve sila dahil sa lamig doon.
Many bodies of climbers who have died on Mount Everest remain on the mountain for various reasons. Retrieving the bodies is a dangerous and challenging task that poses significant risks to the climbers and the rescue teams. As a result, most bodies are left where they fell, serving as somber reminders of the risks and dangers of attempting to summit Earth’s tallest peak. From Google and it also will cost you 20k to 200k to remove the body depending on the location.
Due to the extreme environment and logistical challenges, many bodies of those who die on Mount Everest are left where they fall, becoming part of the mountain's landscape. While some bodies are recovered by clean-up campaigns or by individuals, many remain permanently frozen in the high-altitude environment.
RIP 🙏
@12:43 & 12:44 Hahhaa siguro feeling so proud pa kayo mag comment!
Parang worth it ba na mamatay ka doing what you loved?
I watched docu about Mt Everest.
It’s like a ghost town na daw pero grabe, you will really spend millions of peso pag akyat ng Everest , and may waiver din daw iwan na kasama mo pag naghihingalo and namatay na Hinde mo na siya mababa. Ang sad no?
They asked" Why do you want to climb Mt Everest?" Because it's there. Condolences to family. I hope they will able to retrieve the body. If nasa mataas na , no helicopter or air ambulance esp the weather condition, avalance and area to land. Not that easy.
nasa Camp 3 or 4 na yata yung body ni sir PJ. kasi the next day dapat papanik na din yung batch nila ng kapatid nya sa summit. pero namatay na siya before pa magstart.
Yan kasi ang ultimate kumbaga ng mga mountain hikers and climbers Pag napunta ka sa tuktok that's it kaya no matter how dangerous wala sila paki alam That's their bragging rights if nagawa nila real talk Tayo
It’s funny how every time may topic dito sa FP involving specific areas, nagsisilabasan ang mga expert. For example, topic ang rare disease and illnesses, biglang may mga doctors and nurses. Hehe
Hahaha, natawa ako baks. Everyday ako sa fp but I have two kids, a husband and work but wala ako sa Pinas. Everest and how hard and expensive to airlift a dead body or a sick mountaineer.
From the Outside news, Santiago was in an avalanche but survived and cleared by the doctor to continue ascending. He only suffered bilateral cheeks and nasal injury, a frostbite or abrasions? .I do not know what day that happened but he made it to camp 4 and while resting on his oxygen, he never woke up. Unfortunately he never made it to summit..RIP. Another customer of Snowy Expedition, an Indian made it to summit but succumbed on his descent, his guide had to dragged him down to Hillary steps because he refused to move. Altitude sickness is real, this climbing season, Everest already claimed 4. There are 2 more Pinoys waiting to summit I think 1 is more experienced mountaineer but his tallest practice was only Mt Fuji Still wishing them good weather and luck to summit.
I found a video that the 2 Pinoys are indeed well experienced already climbed 6 to 8m mountains as their practice mountains( not just Fuji) Panganiban and Mapalad a tandem trying their luck to summit this Sunday, wish them luck bawal ang ampalaya may kanya kanya tayong passions and dreams at hindi lang Everest ang gusto nilang akyatin. They want to do the 14 peaks—12:33
Parang nawala ang sense of fulfillment kapag ganun.
Condolence to Sir PJ’s family. On a lighter note, Filipino mountaineer Rhisael "Ric" Rabe successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, on Thursday, 7:15 a.m. (Nepal Time). He becomes the first Filipino to reach the summit in nearly two decades since the last recorded Filipino ascent. Mabuhay po kayo!
