In Thailand, when taxi drivers find out we're from the Philippines they get so excited and always say, "I love Manny Pacquiao! Boxing! Boxing!"
DeleteOne time when I said, "Maybe Manny used to eat plarah (bagoong) too." They burst in a happy laugh! It's like saying, "We have something in common with our boxing idol."
Thailand shows Manny's boxing matches live on local TV channel, on-time viewing unlike in Pinas, matagal ng tapos ang live boxing ay hindi pa nangangalahati sa sobrang dami ng ads.

ReplyDeleteSa tuwing may ipifill -up akong mga forms tinatanong ako lagi kung kaano-ano ko si Manny. Sasabihin ko nalang ang asawa ko lang po ang "Pacquiao". Tas kunyari magugulat sila "Ay may asawa ka na pala?" Lol.. I already asked my husband and he said they're related daw pero malayo na daw. We're from the Southern part of Cebu btw.
