Good luck nalang on your case, Maggie.

  3. Wow, UN? At ikaw ang paguusapan? Special ka te? Sorry to say, hindi ikaw ang magpapabago dyan. You're not that special.

      Locally
      Internationally
      Thousands of women

    4. Why? What is wrong if they reached out and gave her assistance? She’s a human being she is special you are special we all are special. She is protected and have the rights to seek and be protected under by the UN law same as you and me.

    5. Sad naman na yun napansin mo. The fact na lalaki lang pwede mag file ng adultery, ngayon ko lang nalaman and im sure hindi lang ako. Partida di naman ako nakakarelate kay mags. So yes may saysay yung mga kuda nya.

      Delete

I really hope she uses her priviledge wisely. Otherwise ginagawa lang niya pang front yun ibang kababaihan who are going through situation like her.

      Delete
    8. Ano naman pakialam ng UN dyan?

      Delete
    9. Umpisa palang kinasuhan mo dapat asaw mo. Dami mo evidence . Wag kasi masanay nakapag lalaki may karapatan mangaliwa.

      Delete
    10. 223 bakit anong levels ba sya at sya talaga? hahaha patawa!

      Delete
    14. OA niyo. Kaya nga may gobyerno sila ang dapat umasikaso sa poverty, kalamidad drama niyo no! Sila lumapit sa UN. Truth is there a lot of women who suffer in silence dahil biniblackmail ng mga asawa.

I wouldn't be surprised if they truly reached out to her. Probably not because she is a celebrity, but maybe because of who and what she's up to against. Besides, the law criminalizing adultery, doesn't just affect her, but probably thousands of women in this country. Think about it.

    1. Sameeeee... Problema lang nila mag asawa, dinamay pa thousands of women. As if those thousands of women would really benefit on her voice on this.

Abusive husbands use the adultery case for the custody kasi lalaki lang ang pwede mag file. Gets mo na ba? O explain ko pa more??

      Delete

      Delete
    5. I also pushing for this change. King di to nangyari sau, pwede tongmangyati sa kapatid mo or mga anak mo

      Delete
    5. Count me in too. Di ko na need ma experience yung mga pinagdadaanan ni Maggie and ng marami pang mga babae para magets how horrible it is.

At least she’s using her celeb status and influence for something useful like this.

Sa mga bashers, I hope you don’t go through this.

      Delete
Something is wrong with the law, whether gusto niyo kay Maggie or not. So what kung nasa ibang bansa sha? She can be any other Filipina woman who is in an abusive relationship, fighting for her rights and equal custody of her child. She is only using her voice so that those women who can’t will have the courage to fight.

    6. 1:52 and 10:22, I guess be grateful that her problems are not yours. But that’s a myopic view of the world, just because it’s currently not affecting you does not mean that’s it not relevant, or that others who have a platform should not advocate for those who are facing those issues.

      Delete
    7. 12:49, I understand what 10:22. Let's get real. The cause is urgent and needed great attention but doubt Maggie is in for altruistic purposes, aside from her own personal debacle.

      Delete
    3. True, unless siguro they will experience it themselves, dun lang nila marerealize na unfair talaga yung law.

      Delete
    4. 1:04 it doesn't have to be about her. If she manages to draw enough attention to nudge it along, it will help SO many in times to come

      Delete
    5. Hindi nyo talaga maexperience yan dahil bilyonaryo yan.Maraming pambayad sa lawyers.Anong pinagsasasabi niyo.So her battles are far from every Filipino's reality.

      Delete
    6. Agree ako sa iyo, 1:04. I would really like us to forge ahead , na that law finally reckons with the rights of women pero sana may iba namang poster girl for it.

      Delete
  25. UN pa talaga maging interested sa domestic and adultery case nya na labas sa scope of responsibilities nila, sa dami ng issues na mas importante worldwide? It's all "me me me" with this woman. Wala naman talaga syang magawang makakatulong sa iba kundi mag-ingay sa socmed because she doesn't even want to go home and face the charges against her. She's sitting out and living a cushy life abroad while the women she says are 'just like her' are actually living the said suffering she claims she's going through. Umuwi ka at harapin mo problema mo, Maggie. Kung sincere ka sa women's advocacy issues na yan, be brave and stand up and face it in person. Until dumating ka ng Pinas to go to trial, puro ka lang daldal. Maingay na lata. You should be fighting for your son, not your image as a martyr and hero.

Ang ibang nanay gagawin lahat para sa anak, pero itong si Maggie, she hasn't seen her son in a long time pero all she ever talks about is how people are clamoring to help her and only her.

    3. This!!! You nailed it! She’s no different to influencers sa soc med na clout lang ang habol. Tama na dada Maggie, come home and fight for your right as a mother. Kung ano ano nalang pinopost mo na advocacy for women, children and may UN involve pa. Face your problem and fight your ex husband in court and get full custody for your son. Your domestic problem is just yours alone. UN is dealing with war, inflation, calamity, climate change etc. They’re busy with more important & pressing matters para pansinin ka. Feelingera much?

      Delete
    4. 11:44 your comment is spot on!! I do agree with the need to change the laws but MW feeling like she’s spearheading the change is weird. She’s not in our country to fight it for one...second, she was never into any advocacies as far as I know ( now lang kasi it involves her).puro awra and showing off sa soc med about her lifestyle...tama nga, all me me me sya...if it’s up to me, I went home na to face the charges and to be in the same soil as my son and fight for custody. Bailable naman ang adultery. If she will face her charges I will truly support her but Wala e...puro rants on soc media Lang....too coward to actually fight.

Ignorance of the law excuses no one from compliance therewith.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  28. Why are so many criticizing her? She's absolutely right. The laws in the PH are archaic and extremely patriarchal. If her reach helps to shed light and even just slightly influence a much needed change, why not? She has a lot more influence than the average Filipina.

    ReplyDelete
  29. you may not like maggie but truth is dahil karamihan sa lawmakers ay lalaki. tlagang pabor na pabor sknila ang mga pinapasa nilang batas. mraramdaman mo to pag napunta ka na sa sitwasyon na ramdam mo ung difference.

  30. Uyyyy nabuhay ulit. Same old dialogue.

  31. I hope those criticizing her will not go through the same situation lalo na na napaka-panget ng laws dito sa Pilipinas re adultery. She’s using her experience to help out others by voicing it out since she’s a public personality. Hindi ma-aappreciate ng lahat but I think it’s wrong to criticize her. Ako nga na hindi celebrity ang daming kilala na ganyan pinagdadaanan, sya pa na nakakareceive ng private messages as a public figure. For sure may ibang nasa same situation who are thankful for what she’s doing. Kung di gusto ng iba, wag na lang magnegative comment about it or skip news and updates about her.

In tagalog, parang pangangaliwa ang meaning nyan.

Kaya inilalaban nya yung karapatamg pangbabae.

      Delete
    3. 10:59 concubinage is not the same thing. You need to prove that he's housing a mistress. The laws in the Philippines are unfair to women - that's not even debatable.

You should pick your own battle on this. She is at peace now and happily living her dream life with her children. Kung alam mo talaga pinaglalaban mo. 2. Agree. Remember sunshine dizon who filed a case against her husband and the kabit. Sunshine had a very strong case. but decided later on to reach an internal agreement na lang for the sake of their children. Nag beg yata yung father in law nya. my point is, pwede nman idemanda ni maggie si victor. they both have money to pay the lawyers. they are equally capable to file cases if they have enough evidence. But maggie is doing trial by publicity kase wala syang evidences. At tsaka guilty talaga sya ng adultery case.

  37. I dont get the nega comments. For you to see her msg negatively, ikaw ang may kakulangan sa pag-intindi. She's using her experience to let people know how unfair our justice system is, and she wants to change that. She's trying to help make change happen for the many women, including herself, experiencing abuse in their marriage. Let's build each other up..if you cant, make sure you're not putting others down.

    1. Not hating on Maggie. But i think it is also not an informed opinion for her to say that we have no laws protecting women in the Phils and that the judicial system is not fair. Read up on RA 9262 and INVOKE the law. Also, under the Revised Penal Code, the equivalent of adultery vs philandering men is Concubinage. Seriously, do some reading first before spewing misinformed opinions and passing them of as facts.

  43. Yes Maggie, we already have laws to protect women AND children. Republic Act 9262, Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) is broad enough to cover physical, emotional and economic abuse.
And yes, sa Pilipinas, adultery is filed against cheating wives, while concubinage is filed against cheating husbands.

    1. Yes concubinage is filed against cheating husbands but in order to prosecute a guy for one, you need a hell lot more of evidence than what you’ll need to prove an adultery case. Magbasa. Mag-aral. Wag mema
