  1. Not a great time for the POTUS to do this. The country still mourning for the MASS SHOOTING casualties.

    3. Last day ng Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month yesterday. Maraming Asian Americans ang patuloy nabibiktima ng racism lalo na nung nagsimula magkapandemic BTS was there to call attention regarding that.

    4. True. Medyo off ang timing.

    5. 1059 Baks may important message din ang ginawang meeting ng BTS at POTUS specially yung asian hate crimes. Basa basa din ng news Bago kumuda Hindi porket nagpicturan eh kinalimutan na yung mass shooting

    6. It was the last day of AAPI Heritage Month. Di lang din sila yung speakers sa event kanina. You probably aren't aware pero a lot of Asians face racism and microaggression here in the US. So it's also something that must be addressed. He isn't doing it for the fun of it.

    7. Some asians don’t care when to have a good timing. Kaya some nationalities here don’t like them

      Delete
    8. It was timed for the culmination of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration.

  3. BTS is the most overrated boy band of all time! I don't even know why people over hype them.

    1. You don’t even know why people hype over them, so why bother? People who love them have their reasons, and hindi lang yan dahil sa looks nila.

    2. True! Ung iba, makasabay lang sa uso at hype

    3. finally. someone said the truth

    5. Ur statement alone “i dont even know why people hype over them” says a lot. Di mo nmn pala alam coz obviously u never bothered knowing, eh di shut up ka nlang! Why bother to comment eh obvious na wla kang alam!

      Delete
    6. Korek! Puro pa mga nka autotuned ang songs. Or pag live, hindi live tlga kundi recorded live para makasayaw. Pero maka bash sa ibang singers na naka on ang mic wagas! Si Jungkook lang ako bilib sa group na yan. Yung iba waley! Overrated talaga!

  4. Anong ginagawa nila jan, nag perform?

    1. I suggest for you to read latest news, not just gossip news outlets.

They were invited to speak about Asian hate and calling out that everyone needs to treat others with respect.

  5. Overhyped naman sila, nothing exceptional sa talent or sa looks man lang.

    1. Says someone who never really tried to know them and just comment based on the pictures they see on social media. Duhh! Ganda/gwapo at talented mo cguro but u will never ever be like them. Hanggang bash and kanegahan ka lang!

    2. They may look mediocre to you but their humble beginnings and their story give their fans motivation and encouragement.

  6. The Potus is laughing inside. This is just for show coz of diversity market over here. But honestly the commoners dnt care but business is business.

  12. at inuna pa ni Biden yan kesa sa Gun ban...

    1. Obvious wala kang alam how govt works in the US.

      Delete
    2. First of all, gun ban is not on the table. Second, POTUS and FLOTUS were in Uvalde a few days ago. So, hindi niya “inuna.” AFAIK, POTUS can walk and chew gum at the same time. Just because he took time to shed light on anti-Asian discrimination and hate doesn’t mean gun safety is on back burner. Plus, the ball is on Congress’ court — that means 60 votes in the US Senate and 218 in the House for any legislation.

      Delete
    3. US Congress needs to pass the gun ban first before Biden can sign it.

      Delete
    4. He’s been very vocal about gun control law kasi Ayaw ipasa ng Congress. The GOP have been blocking it and Sen Manchin.

  13. Susme, late na nga yan. Ginawa na at the end of the month. Fyi, the month of May is asian heritage month sa US, daming hanash. Alamin Bakit kelangan palakasin ang awareness ng mga haters sa mga asians. I love BTS!

  14. Grabe. Siguro, I was one of those people that didn't get why a lot of people are admiring them but when I got to know them through their variety shows, interviews and music they are really worth the time to get to know. They deserve all the things that they have now.

Please stop with the "overrated" and "overhyped" comments. If they're not your cup of tea then just scroll away and let them and their fans be.

    3. True! I used to not like them also. But when I got to know them, omg na hook ako! Those who say they are overhyped and overrated, are the ones who never really tried to know them. Nakikiuso lang din sa mga haters.lol Andami kong friends na ayaw din sa kanila dati, But now super avid fan na nila after I introduced them to BTS. They understand na why I love them. super hook na rin.haha Try watching their interviews and variety shows kasi apart frm their music vids and concert clips pra ma address yung sinabi nyong “i dont get why people like them” coz if u dont try, then u will keep wondering for the rest of ur life lol. Else, ignore nyo nlang sila okay? Wag nega coz this group gives so much positive vibes to their millions of fans around the world.

  15. They gained millions of fans over the years especially during the pandemic and a lot of stories were told that BTS helped them get thru it. There must be a reason for that. Its not hype. We love them truly.

  16. Reading some of the comments here, clearly shows how racist filipinos are.

    1. 8:00 agree :( daming time to spread hate instead of positivity. Tapos makacall out ng ibang lahi about racism grabe & not even looking first at their own selves. tsk tsk it's the the filipino toxicity.

  17. Grabe makapintas ang mga Pinoy ah. As if naman meron Pinoy celeb na makakatungtong sa White House to represent us/Asians the way BTS are doing now. Maging mayabang lang kayo kung may ipagyayabang. Mas maganda na overrated kasi ibig sabihin may na-achieve to even be considered overrated, kesa never has/never will be rated and never make a mark hahahaha

    1. So true!!! Love Bangtan boys, their humble beginnings, their personalities and their talent. Iba ang charisma nila tlaga. Itong mga nega wla kasi sila idea how hardworking these young men are. Sobrang pinaghirapan nila kung ano man narating nila ngayon and they deserve all the success they are getting.

      Delete
    2. I like BTS pero may Pinoy na na nakatungtung sa White House, si Sen Manny Pacquiao who met Pres. Obama. Also Lea Salonga, not sa White House but was invited to perform sa Isang fundraising for Democrats. She performed on front of then Pres. Bill Clinton, she was also an awardee of Asian American heritage Award and si then First Lady Hillary Clinton nag award sa kanya in 1999. Di na kayo siguro aware kase Bata pa kayo nun. Nakapagperform na din si Lea in front of Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana. So may Filipino na nauna nakapagperform before BTS.

      Delete
    3. 3:41 your information is irrelevant to the discussion. The issue here is Anti-Asian hate crime and giving a platform to the most popular Asians in the world right now. Lea Salonga performing in front of Bill Clinton isn't in the same level as BTS speaking on hate crimes. BTS spoke with Joe Biden in a private meeting, like dignitaries and heads of state do. Do you understand the significance of that? They weren't there as pop stars to get awards for themselves, they're there to represent Asians. Kaya even with everything you said, it remains true na wala pang Pinoy na nakatungtong sa White House and attended an event at the same caliber as BTS.

  18. Kilalanin muna bago kumuda please. If you knew how they started hanggang sa nasaan sila ngayon, rerespetuhin mo sila. Wala silang ginagawang masama sa inyo so please lang skip the article if you don't like them.

  19. Andami na namang haters ng BTS dito. You will never understand if you're not a fan. Focus na lang kayo da faves niyo.

  20. SUGA I’m so proud of you and the man that you have become. I love you.

  21. Daming hate ah? Well ganyan talaga kapag di umuunlad. Pag inggit pikit na lang. Overrated and overhyped? Sabagay, mukhang mababa standards ninyo sa buhay.

  25. If the US is celebrating Asian American / pacific islanders heritage month, they should have invited celebrities who are asian-american/pacific islander not Korean singers.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It’s actually just part of the celebration. And the reason why they were there is because of the issue on Anti-Asian Hate. I think they were fit to speak about it dahil malaki ang following nila it transcends race and languages. PS - Dicako fanney. Nagbasa lang kung bakit sila anjan.hahaha

      Delete
    2. Read the news kasi para malaman mo that they have invited several asian americans for the whole month. They were the last to be invited. Pero syempre hindi mo alam yon because hindi naman kasing sikat as BTS. Therefore, the reach isn’t the same. You just proved a point why these guys got invited to speak on this topic.

      Delete
  26. The US government should have highlighted accomplished people who are asian-american instead of just asian pop stars

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. finally, a sensible comment over those who are clearly just obsessed fans

      Delete
    2. They already did. This was a month long schedule of events and they had Asian-Americans at the White House the week before. Just because you didn't care enough about this issue until BTS made headlines and highlighted the event doesn't mean what you wanted to happen didn't happen. It did. But it's better to run your mouth before doing any research nowadays, I guess.

      Delete
    3. 12:04 if they already did, then they should have continued on that trend since if there were people who should speak about asian violence in the US, those should be people who come from the same backyard. its different when you read/hear about a certain news, its also one thing if its something is happening very close to home.

      Delete
  27. Hindi ako fan ng BTS and I still can't the names of their members right pero ano naman kung overrated sila? Paano ba natapakan ng hype around them ang mga pagkatao ng mga nagsasabi na overrated sila? Just let their fans enjoy, kapag naging rabid dun niyo i-call out hindi yung dahil di niyo lang gets bat malaki fanbase nila.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The nonstop mass shooting incidents should be the US top priority. People who commit anti Asian hate crimes are not fans of BTS, they won't listen to them and is useless. As long as they have hate and feels superior, it's an endless cycle. This is what Trump instilled in their minds during the pandemic.
