If they don't want to be asked, then don't. Just respect that. Maybe they're not comfortable to talk about it during interview kasi baka pag may nasabi silang hindi niyo nagustuhan magwala na naman kayo sa Twitter.
Then why accept a project or a role na LGBT? Ano to? Pang filmography lang? Pang awards lang? Remember that acting or portraying a role is a RESPONSIBILITY.
12:40 AM - the only responsibility an actor has in a film is to his/her contract, and that he or she is expected to complete the project in a professional manner. They are actors, they are not expected to be the same as characters they play in their private lives.
The director was over reaching. If she disagrees with how the actress' management team manage her career, that's her opinion but it doesn't mean the director is correct. Judgmental sya yes.
Nope 12:58 AM. Actors simply play roles. As an LGBTQ+ person, I wouldn't want a person who doesn't belong to my community to represent me and share opinions on my behalf. They obviously refused because they acknowledge the fact that they still lack knowledge about the LGBTQ+ community. These things should not prevent the community from being inclusive, though. We should educate them instead of testing them with their knowledge.
Also, questions regarding LGBTQ+ issues are still considered sensitive and not "natural" to most people. Funny of you to assume that the questions are "natural" when the tweets didn't even express the specifics.
Wrong 12:58 (And obviously, ikaw din si 12:40) Acting is the art of storytelling. They bring to life a character using their craft. As actors, they don't represent any community.
agree with 10:31. very wrong 12:58, actor portrays character/roles and not to be forced to represent any community. they can choose the community to represent, in their personal lives.
to be fair to the directors, asking questions and getting personal with the actors is a way to easily motivate them and to pull specific emotions needed in the scenes. but if they are instructed not to ask specific or personal questions, then don't. challenge yan for directors on how to motivate the actors.
Wala pang trailers nahusgahan muna nilabas nila.
Fake news. May upcoming bl sila gurl. Yung PhilJie’s Heart under RCD Narratives.
If u want outspoken cast members, why not hire actresses that are part of the community?
Lalo na kung the actor doesn't identify as member of the community. They're acting a role but can't relate to it. Also, iilan ang out na lesbian and gay actors na outside the stereotype.
I don’t see anything wrong naman with it
Excuse me po, not because you are queer, you have the right to ask LGBTQ+ Related quetions to anyone. Respect other's decision to keep their sexuality/ gender private.
Dapat sinabi n lng e "no personal questions", not "no LGBTQ+ questions" kse weird nmn na hindi pgusapan un kng un ang theme ng show. Pero if Samantha was talking about LGBTQ+ related personal questions, then she shouldnt be entitled to be able to ask those..
she shoukd respect that, they are actors, doesn’t mean porke tinanggap nila anv project member na sila ng lgbt.what of sya as director di ready na mapag-usapan yan di ba ma-offend din sya of asked abt it?
Ang daming kulang sa reading comprehension. Sinabi niya "handler", hindi ang actress. Matagal ko ng finollow yan si Sam Lee at kabarkada niya si Janine Gutierrez at matagal na siyang ally sa LGBT, umattend pa siya ng Pride with Sam and friends. Si Lovi naman matagal na nilang finofollow ang isa't-isa which means they've known each other before this. The way I see it, hindi ang artista ang may issue sa LGBT questions, yung handler lang kaya siguro nainis si Sam.
Honestly ang cute nya:)
ReplyDeleteSaang banda
Delete12:28 inggit ka dahil wala nagsasabi sau niyan - not Samantha, not 12:16
Delete…..not.
DeleteEh hindi naman talaga cute
Delete12:16 AM - maybe you have to be an LGBTQ to appreciate her because I really can't see how she is cute.
DeleteIf they don't want to be asked, then don't. Just respect that. DeletePersonal is different from work

DeleteO gaya nyan 12:40 sensitive masyado. Kaya nga acting! Kaloka ka. Oo te para sa pelikula. Acting is a job for some, passion for few.
Delete12:40 uhm, kasi actors sila at trabaho nila yun?
DeleteThis happened to Nathalie Hart. She played a lesbian but she said something that was taken out of context and some were offended or shading her.

ReplyDeleteThen dont accept the project. As actors, they are representing communities through their craft.

ReplyDeleteCommon problem within the community. They demand respect as long as its convenient for them.
ReplyDeleteI think may issue na ganyan yung Kay princess snell na namisinterpret yung tactless comment niya when she portrayed a lesbian character.
ReplyDeleteEntitled
ReplyDeleteEto ba yung ex ni Mari Jasmine after Sam Milby??? Ang feeling ha!
