I think it's coz they're pinoy 12:51... same goes with blacks na if someone not black address them with th N word, it's offensive pero pag sila sila ok lang... Also kunyari with chinese people, when they make fun of their english-chinese accent, they laugh at it but if ibang lahi ang gumawa non, issue sya.
Where Idolatry STILL PERSIST! Coz it is already written in the Bible until the world burns! It is the MOST OFFENSIVE THING ANYONE CAN DO COZ IT MERITS HELL!
OMG the video was 2013 and Katherine Ryan has explained it! Jesus Christ Gretchen, can you not search first?!? It was explained That the segment is for cosmetic lines that are UNLIKELY to be heard. Asan racism dun?!?
Hmm. I think mas jab yung towards western countries vs. filipinos, kumbaga she's pointing out the hypocrisy na these companies like to claim they are ethical, and in turn yung mga consumers who get off from the performative morality of using their buying power to "change things" support these "ethical" items...but in reality thry turn a blind eye sa athrocities ng mga corporations at pag exploit nila sa resources at labor ng mahihirap na bansa.
It's with me that's why I commented it. How about you? Do YOU even know the show? Have you watched it? Do YOU know how it works? Did you watch the whole segment and the theme? Do YOU know why she said that piece? Lol. If you do, you won't be asking me that dear. You are one of the common filipinos who don't read questions on exams and just choose an answer or maybe a common filipino who doesn't follow instructions and just jump on the process. LOL kakahiya ka. There's no racism in there at all. Nothing at all. She didn't even say sorry because she knows there was no meant of racism with what she said. Napakitaan lang kayo ng 15 seconds na clip, outrage agad kayo. Kadiri
2:53 lol you good? You’re one of those Filipinos that can’t think beyond what they see or what they hear. Yeah it’s a “joke” but it’s not a good one. It’s a joke that holds true for many Asians who are taken advantage of, are underpaid, and are in poor working conditions. It is part of racism issue because Ms. Ryan here overlooks those facts for a “joke” and overlooks her own privilege where she benefits from these “filipino children.” It’s a joke but a distasteful one that shows she’s out of touch with what these children and what people have to go through. Hahahaha yeah so funny that white people are taking advantage of poor children for cheap goods hahahaha that’s so funny. All of a sudden the joke is gone huh. All of a sudden it’s not so funny anymore when you put it in that context. You can’t make light of things when you don’t know the conditions firsthand nor are you doing anything to help stop these conditions. Critical thinking lang try mo. If anyone here is nakakahiya it’s you because you’re out here defending a privileged white person. :)
7:21 you just couldn’t be more idiot could you? I didn’t defend her because it was a “joke”. I challenged the commenters if they know about the show, the segment, if they have seen the whole video and the theme why she said the PIECE. Grabe. Ang liliteral niyo. Comprehension naman paki level up. Kayo yung mga puro bugso ng damdamin pinapairal without thinking first. People are laughing at you outraging like headless chicken. No, I don’t care about anyone’s colour, doesn’t matter to me and never been and issue to me. People just have too much time on their hands trying to be always involved in dramas on social media and forgot to use their brains.
Favour, watch an episode of Mock of the Week, you’ll laugh at yourself wasting your energy and emotion for baseless “racism” accusations.
1:01 lol them making fun of themselves still doesn’t negate the fact that it’s a serious issue that should be stopped. But okay I guess treat it as a joke. Too much time on our hands? People are literally dying and microaggressions aren’t it anymore.
Well may pahapyaw ng truth. One word, dengvaxia. And sometimes comedy is used to bring light to some touchy socio political issues. She's not doing that to put Filipinos down but to expose an injustice.
I don't see any asian hate in this joke. This was done in bad taste against CHILDREN (which is disgusting!), not race. So why not focus on that? If she said African children, no pinoy would react, but just because "Filipino" was mentioned, you all get butt hurt. Jokoy was risky with his jokes about young Mexican girls marrying twice their age, and his audience were Mexicans but they were laughing with him.
I love katherine ryan. She’s NOW one of the most progressive comedians in the UK. Her brother in law is filipino 😉
ReplyDeleteSaka luma n pala yan. D alam ni ate gretch
Deletekuda kasi ng kuda sa socmed sana mag research muna.
DeletePero kapag yung Jokoy or Mikey Bustos ang nag-joke nung ganyan okay lang no. Lol
ReplyDeleteOo. Kasi noypi din. Lol. Parang mga black yung N word sila lang pwede gumamit.l s kapwa nila.

Deletepara magparelevant, gumawa ng issue si Gretchen Ho.
Delete2:31 Tumpaaaak.
DeleteKasi in that context they are laughing with you and not at you.
DeleteWelcome to 2021 when everything is offensive and everyone is offended!!!
ReplyDeleteWhere Idolatry STILL PERSIST! Coz it is already written in the Bible until the world burns! It is the MOST OFFENSIVE THING ANYONE CAN DO COZ IT MERITS HELL!
DeleteNaman! Thank to the young know-it-alls. Dati d ganun eh. Ngayon sobra toxic lahat may mic eh.
Delete... and where every woke people try normalize EVERYTHING even if it's wrong or inappropriate as long as it satisfies them.
DeletePaano naging racist yon? Kung tutuusin plausible pa siyang maging eye opener sa mga injustices about the Filipino children
ReplyDelete12:57 kaunting isip pa Baka maliwanagan ka
DeleteIt was racist because she isolated Filipinos... if she just wanted to joke then she can just generalized by saying all children lol!
DeleteSaang kweba ka nanggaling?
Delete12:45 so you condone racism?! If you’re filipino you should be ashamed of yourself! White trash lover!
ReplyDeleteOMG the video was 2013 and Katherine Ryan has explained it! Jesus Christ Gretchen, can you not search first?!? It was explained That the segment is for cosmetic lines that are UNLIKELY to be heard. Asan racism dun?!?

DeleteGretchen the know it all better than everyone
DeleteHmm. Delete2:53 Actually mukhang ikaw ang racist sa sarili mong kababayan. Kung maka "common filipino" ka. Liit ng tingin mo ah

Deleteshe could have said “children” instead of “filipino children” using specific asian race
Delete07:40 was talking about small units of filipinos not all filipinos. Hahaha paka literal mo jusko ka.

09:15 ah okay, so bawal na imention “Filipino”? Tago ka nalang sa kweba dahil baka pati hangin masaktan feelings mo.

Deletewalang racist dyan. It was sarcasm. lahat na lang racism. Ilugar niyo naman kung minsan ang utak ninyo.
ReplyDeletegretchen should focus on other more relevant and meaningful issues than this one.
ReplyDeleteWell may pahapyaw ng truth. One word, dengvaxia. And sometimes comedy is used to bring light to some touchy socio political issues. She's not doing that to put Filipinos down but to expose an injustice.
ReplyDeleteDisagree she could have said “children” we cannot discount the mocking angle v filipinos/asians under the guise of ethical awareness.
DeleteGretchen, sweetie... just, no.
ReplyDeleteJokes are half meant! This is a trashy joke!
ReplyDeleteI don't see any asian hate in this joke. This was done in bad taste against CHILDREN (which is disgusting!), not race. So why not focus on that?
