    1. True. Imagine your daughter, niece or younger sister watching this. It is inappropriate, bali-baliktarin mo man.

    2. it is because women have the freedom to do so if they want. and if you think it's wrong cause it "sexual", well it is not because the woman's body has been sexualized ever since.

      Delete
    3. 12:46 yun nga rin ang tanong ko. Ganito n b kaadvance ang "feminist" kaya hndi ako naupdate? Nakakalito kasi having "sex" like perfomance is never an empowering to women.

      Delete

      Delete
    5. Ano Ang women empowerment dito??? It’s too vulgar! Do they have to resort to this sexual stripping performance just to gain popularity?? Haler! This is not Women empowerment at all!

      Delete
    6. I agree with you @12:46, 12:58 and 1:02

      Delete
    7. 12:46 Agree na agree! Making music with lyrics like WAP don't empower women... performing like that of Cardi B et al...just degrades women. To all you "woke" Gen x and z's..you can defend it all you want, but the reality is...jut look at your generation now. No need to expound on it.

      Delete
    8. and here comes the double standard. Let women be who they want to be. Daming righteous!!!

    14. Guys, they literally went through the motions of scissoring ON STAGE. You know what scissoring is? Kahit lalake or LGBT, if they performed movements ng sexual act on stage for the whole world to see, definitely ma-criticize yan! Ladies, you can be empowered without being slutty.

      Delete
    15. 1:37. yeah sure let women be what they want to be but just don't throw away their sense of modesty. they weren't born animals... even my dogs still have a sense of shame pag napapagalitan.

    17. Would you all be saying these if it were MEN though? That's the question. He was attacked because why not call out the male rappers too who doesn't sing anything else other than getting money, b*tch3s and s*x?

    23. Walang masama sa sinabi ni kuya. Gusto natin bilang babae ng respecr diba? Yung gire gire nila cardi b dyan equates to women empowerment??? Di ba hindi, it is highly suggestive sexual moves and then we ask for respect pero says otherwise.

Sorry kung manang. Dun labg tayo sa tama

    24. 1:17 nacricriticize din po ang mga lalaki for doing sex like performance. From what i remember, GDragon do something like this and Korean criticize him for doing it.

    25. Baklang manicurista, basahin mo nga uli ang comment mo. Saan ang logic? Duterte supporter sya, pero how sure are you na agree sya sa lahaaaaat ng ginagawa ni duterte? Itong sinasabi niya about cardi b, ibang sentiment to. Bakit kelangan ihalo ang political?

      Delete
    26. I agree with poon and it goes both ways. I dont like it when male performers take off their shirts and gyrate on stage.

That's not hot. And for women, it's not empowering. For any gender, it's trashy.

      Delete

Empowering dahil kahit ano pwedeng gawin regardless of boundaries.

    28. Ganito na lang, there’s a reason why strip clubs, beer gardens or whatever you call them has strict regulations such as age restrictions etc. Not for everyone to see specially minors kasi nagpapakita sila ng provocative, sexualizing performance. I can’t see any empowering here.

  2. Gets ko si Richard. This is what the children sees, kaya daming cases ng teenage pregnancy. They are being opened to "sexuality" at an early age.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nah. That performance sucked but poverty plus non-existent na reproductive health support/sex education ang dahilan ng teenage preganancies. Yung mga nabubuntis din tend to have a lower socioeconomic standing, they most likely don't have as much access to the internet to consume these things on the regular. But teenage pregnancies...I don't see it unless may study proving otherwise.

      Delete

      Delete
    3. Dont blame the media for teenage pregancies. Blame the lack of sex education rather. Lahat tayo may sariling judgement if we wanna do it or not, pero we all have limited options kung may nangyari. Nakakalungkot na my husband still gets weird looks from other customers when he is buying condoms at the pharmacies even though he's a full grown adult.

    8. Alam ba namin na may ganun content na lalabas? Hindi din naman sila nagbigay ng abiso 1:18

      Delete
    9. Nope kaya may teenage pregnancy because of lack of sexual education in schools and lack of condom distribution.

    1. Yung problema sa argument mo eh kapag ang isang babae ay malaya na makapagsuot ng damit na nais nya, magsayaw sa paraan na nais niya, icelebrate yung sexuality at femininity nya sa paraan na gusto nya, you see it as problematic. You immediately connect is as a form of gimmick and then connect it with onlyfans. Ikaw yata ang may problema with the way you objectify women and your misogynistic views.

Ipagpalagay natin na lalaki ang nagperform ng ganun, sing or rap songs about sex or the shape of women's bodies, would you also see that as a problem? Obviously not.

      Delete
    2. 1:55 napanood mo ba? Kahit lalaki magperform on stage and blatantly go through motion ng humping, may masasabi talaga. Alam mo ba yung ginawa nila Cardi B kung ano yun? That's how two women make love. It's not the dress, it's the obscene actions.

    5. 1:55 stop exaggerating. There’s a decent way of doing things and it’s not stripping and being vulgar. I don’t care Anong taon na ngayon. Malaswa pa din ang malaswa. Tigilan niyo kaka “woke” niyo masyado ng malaswa and wala ng decency. Nothing empowering about it if you ask me. You can be sexy sa pagiisip at sa pagpresenta sa sarili mo na hindi bastos

  7. a lot of people have the same thoughts on this performance.
i'm a woman but i want to honestly say that i did not think those dance moves are empowering. we all know it's for attention and hardly to showcase their talent.

    1. Exactly. Lots of young filipinos nowadays buy into the brand of western feminism, which I don't get cause iba ang context sa atin, napakarare sa pilipinas ng mga nagdadabble sa s work because they want to unless high profile s worker sila. Usually dala ng kahirapan at desperation/lack of social mobility ang dahilan kaya nagreresort ang mga pinay sa s work. Marami din na menor de edad nagsisimula. Ang focus dapat sa feminism sa atin is yung right ng nga babae to do dignified labor na hindi labag sa loob nila or na hindi sila naeexploit, o di kaya edukasyon, proteksyon sa domestic violence/objectification/hypersexualization, reproductive health, divorce, etc. Western countries already have those things so kung ano ano nalang ang pinaglalaban nila, but pinays can only dream of what privileges these western women have. This type of feminism have nothing to do with us. This is not our reality so this shouldn't be st the forefront of brown asian feminism. A menor de edad prosti from the slums won't feel empowered watching that performance, they need something tangible and they need an actual voice.

    2. hindi porket feminist, bastos ang dapat pausuhin. Ibang kultura yan. Wag nyo itolerate na tama porket uso. Napapanood yan ng mga anak nyo.

  9. To be honest, ang laswa tlga ng performance nila Cardi. Nagawa nila icensored ang salitang "bucket" pero hndi naicensored ang ganitong performance which is super questionable.

As for bts, well they really worked hard and they deserve recognition but fans should respect other people's hard work. Grabe ang ibang army s pamamaliit kay na Lady Gaga and Ariana just because they are the one won the best duo or group award. Please army, kung gusto nyo ng respect, respect others too. 1. Thats how Megan and Cardi would like to express their femininity, sexuality and embracing love for their bodies. If you see that as a reason and argument why women are being objectified, ikaw ang may problema.

Lets apply your context to men doing sexy numbers and selling music about drugs and objectifying women, I dont think magiging big deal sayo yun.

-If ayaw nyo makita ng kids nyo, then maybe monitor what they are watching kase trabaho ng magulang yan. If they do end up watching it, then educate them.

-I don’t understand why women being sexual is such a grave sin but when guys do it, it’s considered normal. Double standards indeed.

-Simple lang yan, if their performance doesn’t hurt you, then wag makialam.

Hahahaah. Why are there people like you? Nakakahiya. Tama ang “do” because the subject is ‘low lives like Cardi B’, not just ‘Cardi B’. If di ka sure what verb tense to use, try replacing the noun/s to pronoun. In that sentence, ‘low lives like Cardi B’ when turned into a pronoun is ‘they’. So it will be ‘They DO this to sell music’. Aral muna bago ka magcorrect, pa-dear dear ka pa dyan.

    9. 1:46 but they (Cardi B and Megan) are the one objectify themshelves to the public as they or everyone knows that S3X SELLS. Also, Grammy or any award bodies is considered as family shows as many families watch this shows. So hahayaan mo n lng n mapanood itong live sex or soft porn s mga anak mo just becuz its a femenist thing??? I question your feminist thinking.

      Delete
    10. My dear 2:31, pakiexplain naman grammar rules.

      Delete
    11. 1:46 First off, you are full of assumptions. It’s a big deal rin when men are doing sexy numbers and selling music about drugs etc. So mali ka dun.

Being too liberated can be detrimental. There is a limit to how much you should “express” yourself in public, to a general audience. If doing such dances is the only way they could “express” themselves, then there’s a problem with their mindset. They are too shallow, and so are people who defend their actions.

  26. Totoo naman kasi sinabi ni Richard, yung 9 years old kong pamangkin pinanuod yan kahapon sa TV ewan ko ba san sa YT niya nakuha, naku nilipat ko talaga. .. may tendency kasi na gayahin nya mga steps eh .. si sabi ko, dont do that hu, change natin sa mas maganda, nilipat ko sa cartoons

  27. This is not Women empowerment! This is putting women at it’s lowest where we should not be!

  35. I don't mind Richard Poon. Yes, Richard Poon's songs are boring but there's no doubt he can sing. Pero don't lump me with those wanna be feminists na genz na mahilig magsabi ng men are trash. Kasi hindi ako ganun. Reasonable feminist ako with a good boyfriend. Hehehe. Hindi ako tulad ni Valerie Solanas na nag start ng SCUM manifesto which means Society Cutting Up Men and yung nirerequire niya Sa male members na magsabi ng, "I'm a turd, a lowly abject turd." Kasi powtek kalokohan yun.

  43. May point naman si Richard pero i have a soft spot for Cardi B. I do not find the performance malaswa. It was ok lang. Wala naman nakahubad and yung dance moves nila was kinda creative pa nga. Wap wap wap! Macaroni in a pot!

  44. this is not feminism, this is promoting prostitution.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Sorry, pano naging empowerment yun? You can be sexy without being trashy.

  46. It's his opinion. If you disagree with it, too bad. If he's a nobody then why are you all affected?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Mio talaga! Agree ako with Richard

    ReplyDelete
  48. Totoo naman wala ng sense ang grammys panu ba naman mga new set of artists panay kabastusan ang pinapauso ang cheap

    ReplyDelete
  49. Malaswa naman talaga yang si Cardi B. I’m a woman and what she’s doing is not empowering for me. They are at the top of their games and they empower women pa nga.

Waste of time manood sa kanya lalo pa wala din siyang sariling song. Suplado din yan. Napanood ko ang ibang crooners like Christian Bautista and even Erik Santos and naenjoy ko naman sila. Mababait din sila di tulad nitong so Richard.

  50. No wonder why Grammy's viewership plummeted so badly. While they think bad publicity is still publicity, people have had enough.

Prostitution of women ain't cool. Stop promoting it.

  52. Ang tacky naman kasi talaga eh. Yung iba sa audience looked uncomfortable and awkward while watching it.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think WAP is a fun song. Nonsense but fun.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Given the lyrics, outfits and movements - what's empowering about that? They cheapened themself and basically invited objectification. I'm a woman and I found it sad. Attention seeking wh****g is not empowered, it screams the absence of self-resoect.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Grabe naman kasi. Parang sexual act yung performance nung dalawa. Meron pang pumatong yung isa saka nag up and down yung hips

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  57. I agree with him and quite surprised at how people commented on his post.

What was empowering about the production number? The host’s comment showed (I had a dream... I was in bed with Cardi...) exactly how objectifying the dance number was. The power was just taken away from women.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Regardless of gender, there’s a big difference between being sexy and being obscene. Hindi na empowering yung ganyan.

    ReplyDelete
  59. good luck sa generasyon na to na lahat na lang pa woke, wala nang proper or improper, gagawin kung anong gusto nila. i get what Richard Poon is saying. that is not in any way empowering women. what empowered woman feels great after
watching that? eto ang generation who throws the word ‘misogyny’ at people who express their opinions or show ideals that go against theirs.

    ReplyDelete
  60. women who disrespects their own body and then screams to demand respect from others especially from men is not what women empowerment is all about. kakasuka kayong mga pa woke generation kayo.

and to those people who say double standards, NO, if male artista did that we’ll still call them out for being improper. mga echusera.

    ReplyDelete
  61. wow. not this woke generation thinking that performing scissoring on stage is a form of women empowerment šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ isang malaking good luck sa inyošŸ¤£

  62. Very simple rules to live by

    Respect the opinion of others.
Respect how he airs it. It is his personal space in a public forum. Up for debate.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Well, in fairness, he is right. Both Cardi and Stallion are awful.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Meh, it’s not about women empowerment. It’s just that they don’t have much talent. Dinadaan lang sa ek ek.

  66. This is funny.
Dear Mr. Poon, like you said it's POP CULTURE. EVERYONE IS BUYING IT. if ayaw ng mga anak nyo at ng Philippine culture, then don't watch and support.
Mr. Poon, I suggest you first rant about our local talents na sumisikat na wala Namang talent.
kung Ang Philippine talents nga natin wala Kang magawa, wag paki alaman Ang bigger stage.

p.s. parang raming DDS diri ha. hahahahaha

  68. Follow the exchange between Candace Owens and Cardi, you'll get what Richard means...and they are not wrong!

  70. I agree with Richard Poon. performing sexual act on stage is a big no-no. Cardi B doesn't even want her own daughter to listen to WAP or watch the video.

  74. Para sa woke generation WOMEN empowerment = being able to express ‘femininity’ and ‘love for body’ by wearing suggestive clothes and doing suggestive dance moves.

Di na ba talaga pwedeng i empower niyo ang sarili niyo by respecting your body??

    ReplyDelete
  75. Team richard poon! Ewwww

  79. I agree with Richard. For the ladies that watched the performance, do you feel empowered? Did that give you the needed confidence to do the same thing? Would you want your little daughter to see that and say you should be like them?
